Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Optimus robot: This will be the biggest product ever of any kind
Tesla hosts its 'We, Robot' event on Thursday at Warner Bros. Discovery's movie studio in Burbank, California. Elon Musk said the company has made a lot of progress on its Optimus robot and that it will eventually cost between $20,000 and $30,000. He said it will be able to "be a teacher, babysit your kids, walk your dog, mow your lawn, get the groceries...Whatever you can think of it will do." The robots walked among the crowd at the event.

The Dutch economy minister says he wants to form a European Union "coalition of the willing" to strengthen their domestic computer chip industries. Beijing has accused Taiwan President Lai Ching-te of undermining peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait, while ASEAN leaders meeting in Laos deepened the grouping's relationships with several key partners on the second day of its annual gathering. The National Wages Council has said that employers of lower-wage workers earning up to $2,500 in gross monthly wage should give salary increases of 5.5 per cent to 7.5 per cent to these workers.

However, the transportation and logistics sector rebounded, led by HEXTECH and CHGP. On news front, PBBANK is set to acquire a 44.15% stake in LPI Capital Bhd for RM1.72 billion. As the US 3Q2024 earnings season begins tonight, investors are watching financial results closely, which may influence the KLCI's direction.
