1️⃣ Hong Kong stocks corrected -3.6% due to weaker-than-expected trade data and a Bloomberg report stating that China will tax the investment gains of wealthy overseas Chinese
2️⃣ China's exports slowed down in Sep'24 to +2.4% YoY (vs consensus: +6%), capping a quarter where robust external demand had cushioned weaker consumption at home. Imports were nearly flat at +0.3% in Sep'24 (vs consensus: -+0.8%). Imports of high-tech goods posted strong growth of +10.0%, but those of commodities tumbled, amid elevated inventories at home
3️⃣ Monitor the movement of China property stocks as China's housing ministry will hold a press briefing on Thur (17 Oct)
