💰 Gold price reaches historic highs amid rising risk sentiment and lower real interest rates
• The AUM of the SPDR Gold ETF listed on SGX (Ticker: O87/GSD) surged to a four-year high of S$1.7 billion, driven by four consecutive months of inflows totalling S$146M.
• Its average daily turnover in Q3 24 doubled from the same period a year ago, showing a +126% YoY increase.
• Increased demand and trading interest were driven by heightened perceived geopolitical risks and a declining real interest rate environment, prompting investors to turn to Gold ETFs as a safe haven and inflation hedge.
