ICPT Mechanism Unlikely to Impact TENAGA
Tenaga Nasional (TENAGA) stated in a Bursa Malaysia filing on 23 Dec’24 that the imbalance cost pass-through (ICPT) mechanism will not affect its operations or financial position.
The announcement follows the government’s decision to maintain electricity tariffs across Peninsular Malaysia under the ICPT for 1H25. The ICPT allows tariff adjustments based on changes in fuel and generation costs, reviewed biannually by the government.
TENAGA was the leading mover in the Bursa Malaysia Utilities Index contributing 3.12 points yesterday. Investors bullish on TENAGA may consider TENAGA-C2M, offering an effective gearing of 14.5x for leveraged exposure!
