The body of the Ummah is one; when it becomes injured its sides awaken. Whoever does not feel the pain is either drugged or not a part of it (the Ummah): “The believers are like one body; if any part of it suffers the whole body responds to it.”
إذا تألم جزء من الأمة ولم تستنفر بقية الأجزاء نصرة له، فإن جسد الأمة ميّت أو مخدّر.

Crying out of fear of Allah is by fearing what comes after death. There are some people who when they remember death they cry over parting this world, not over confronting the hereafter, thinking that comes under having fear of Allah.
البكاء من خشية الله يكون بالخوف مما بعد الموت ومن الناس من إذا تذكر الموت بكى على فراق الدنيا لا على استقبال الآخرة ويظن أن ذلك من خشية الله.

The most dangerous kind of slavery is slavery of the hawā (whims); the person is liberated from worshiping rocks to worshiping ideologies; he thinks he isn’t making ṭawāf around an idol, but he makes ṭawāf around his hawā while not noticing.

Evils have a wheel that drives them; if one evil comes and does not stumble because no one forbids it another will come after it. So it is legislated to forbid evil even if it does not change; it is sufficient that it disrupts what comes after it.
المنكرات لها عجلة تسير بها، إذا جاء واحد فلم يتعثّر بإنكاره جاء بعده آخر، فيُشرع إنكار المنكر ولو لم يتغيّر فيكفي أنه يعطل ما بعده.

How amazing the heart is! A piece of flesh that fits in one hand; if it is blissful it makes the one who lives in pits like one who owns the whole world, and if it is miserable it makes the one who owns the whole world like one whole lives in pits.
عجباً للقلب مضغة تملأ الكف إن كان سعيداً جعل ساكن الحُفر كمالك الدنيا، وإن كان شقياً جعل مالك الدنيا كساكن الحفر.

Placing your trust in Allah is mercy, even if Allah does not achieve for you your goal. How many goals that we tire ourselves in trying to reach that have nothing but misery for us in them? Allah has mercy on you by depriving you of them while you feel hurt.
التوكل على الله رحمة ولو لم يحقق الله للإنسان مراده، فكم من غاية يتعب الإنسان في الوصول إليها وفيها شقاؤه فيرحمه الله بحرمانه منها وهو يتألم

The more an individual broadens in knowledge, the more he broadens in excusing the one who rightfully differs in opinion with him; and if his knowledge becomes confined, his excusing also becomes confined.
كلما اتسع الرجل علماً اتسع عُذراً لمن خالفه بحق، وإذا ضاق علمه ضاق عذره.

It is recommended to make duʿā for one’s grandchildren along with one’s children, even before their existence. The wife of ʿImrān, the mother of Maryam, said:
{ وَإِنِّي سَمَّيْتُهَا مَرْيَمَ وَإِنِّي أُعِيذُهَا بِكَ وَذُرِّيَّتَهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ }
“And I have named her Maryam, and I seek refuge with You for her and for her descendants from Shayṭān, the outcast.” [Āl ʿImrān 3:36]

The Prophet ﷺ compared the relationship between individual believers to a ‘structure’, and their groups to ‘one body’, because a group with its individuals keep in touch and connect, and the Ummah with its groups support one another and join forces.
شبّه النبي ﷺ علاقة أفراد المؤمنين بـ(البنيان) وجماعاتهم بـ(الجسد الواحد) لأن الجماعة بأفرادها تتواصل وتترابط والأمة بجماعاتها تتناصر وتتعاضد.

Importance of Morning & Evening Azkaar
Dhikr (remembrance) of Allāh in the morning is the provision for the soul to endure the troubles and difficulties of the day. The Prophet ﷺ and his Companions would take provision through dhikr, sitting after Fajr until the sun would rise.
ذكر الله في الإصباح زاد الروح لتحمّل عناء اليوم وشدائده، وقد كان النبي ﷺ وصحابته يتزودون بالذكر فيجلسون بعد الفجر حتى تطلع الشمس

There is no one who has described love like the Prophet ﷺ with his saying, “None of you believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself.” So whoever seeks perfection of Īmān all his days are love.
لا يوجد من وصف الحب كالنبي ﷺ بقوله (لا يؤمن أحدكم حتى يُحب لأخيه ما يحب لنفسه) فمن طلب كمال الإيمان فكل أيامه حب.

Allah wishes good for the believer even as he tests him. He conceals the great rewards to test his conviction. If the believer could see the hidden kindness of his Lord, he would find sweetness in tests as he does in ease.
يريد الله بالمؤمن خيراً وإن ابتلاه، فيُخفي عنه حسن العواقب اختباراً ليقينه ولو أبصر المؤمن ما خفي من لطف ربه لاستلذ البلاء كما يستلذ العافية.

Feeling happy for a sin and having pride in doing it is worse than falling into the sin itself, for feeling pain over committing sins is a blessing that indicates the liveliness of the heart with Īmān.
الفرح بالذنب والتفاخر بفعله أشد من الوقوع في الذنب نفسه، فإن الألَم من فعل المعاصي نعمة تدلّ على حياة القلب بالإيمان.

If your soul feels the pain of disobedience and self-remorse, do not try to cheat around the sin by making it ḥalāl, for you are only cheating yourself and not Allah, for He is the One who created you and created such cheating skills in you!
إذا أحَسّت نفسك بألم المعصية وتأنيب الضمير فلا تتحايل على الذنب باستحلاله، فإنك تتحايل على نفسك لا على الله، فهو الذي خلقك وخلق الحيل فيك !

The intellect that does not contemplate is like the body that does not move. Allah has commanded us to frequently contemplate so that the intellects become strong in understanding meanings, just like bodies become strong in carrying weights by movement.
العقل الذي لا يُفكّر كالجسم الذي لا يتحرّك، وقد أمر الله بكثرة التفكّر لتتقوّى العقول على فهم المعاني، كما تتقوى الأجسام بالحركة على الأحمال.

Evil must be denounced before adaptation to it, for humans are subject to adaptation gradually. Immorality started among the people of Lut gradually; they denounced it until they absorbed it and then ridiculed the reformers.

“The one who promotes immorality even if they don’t do it, is worse in the sight of Allah than the one who does it but doesn’t promote it. That is because the former bears the sin of the Ummah whilst the latter bears their own sin.”

Sending ṣalāh upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday is better than on the rest of the days, and its night (Thursday night) is the best of nights. He ﷺ said, “Among the best of your days is Friday, so frequently send ṣalāh upon me therein.”
الصلاة على النبي ﷺ يوم الجمعة أفضل من بقيّة الأيام، وليلتها أفضل الليالي، قال ﷺ: (إن من أفضل أيامكم يوم الجمعة فأكثروا عليّ من الصلاة فيه)

Freedom is a concept that gets the most distorted today. There are people who call the worship of desires freedom, and there are people who make the worship of human beings better than freedom. But whoever worships Allah the worship He deserves, the scale of freedom is set right for him.
الحرية أكثر معاني اليوم تشويها أناس تسمي عبودية الهوى حرية وأناس تجعل عبودية البشر خيرا من الحرية ومن عبد الله حق العبودية صح له ميزان الحرية.

The struggle that some corrupt people have is with Islam and not the scholars, but because Islam is difficult to confront they target the scholars because they are its carriers; and if the carrier falls, what he carries will also fall.
بعض المفسدين صراعهم مع الإسلام لا مع العلماء، ولكن لأن الإسلام يستعصي على المواجهة يستهدفون العلماء لأنهم حملته، وإذا سقط الحامل سقط المحمول.

The human soul loves pleasure and hates pain. Moreover, man endeavors to build his ideas in order to enjoy more and suffer less, but not every pleasure is necessarily correct, nor is every pain necessarily incorrect!
نفس الإنسان تُحب (اللذة) وتكره (الألم) ويُحاول الإنسان أن يبني أفكاره ليستمتع أكثر ويتألم أقل، ولكن ليس كل لذة صواباً ولا كل ألم خطأ!

Arrogance blinds a person from seeing his errors, thus he sees those who advise him as being prejudiced, until when his errors become numerous he becomes ruined.
الكِبْر يُعمي الإنسان عن رؤية الأخطاء، فيرى الناصحين مغرضين، حتى إذا كثرت أخطاؤه تهاوى.

Just like riyā’ (showing off) is feared for a person over an act of worship done in public, self-admiration is feared for him over an act of worship done in private, as he may despise others due to considering his private worship as better than that of others, thus destroying himself.
كما يُخشى على الإنسان من الرياء في عبادة العلانية، يخشى عليه من عجب النفس بعبادة السر، فقد يحتقر غيره فيظن أن سره خير من سر غيره فيهلك.

No justice in religious or worldly affairs is expected from the envious one; he will use everything to elevate, and if he fails to elevate himself he will sacrifice everything to bring others down.
لا يُرجى من الحاسد عدل في دين ولا في دنيا، يستخدم كل شيء ليرتفع وإن عجز عن رفعة نفسه بذل كلّ شيء لإسقاط غيره.

Many people lose the blessing and effect of the Qur’ān within themselves because observing the voice of the reciter busies them from reflecting over the words of Allah.
يفقد كثيرٌ من الناس بركة القرآن وأثره في نفوسهم لأنهم شُغلوا عن تدبّر كلام الباري بتأمل صوت القاريء.
