[Benefits of Seeking Knowledge]
Increasing oneself in [Islamic] knowledge is among the means of remaining steadfast. Knowledge strengthens the mind thus grounding it, and restrains the soul thus not allowing it to become reckless. The most steadfast of people are those most knowledgeable, even if they are young; for knowledge is experience without experience.
التزوّد بالعلم من أسباب الثبات، فالعلم يقوّي العقل فيرسخ ويُقيّد النفس فلا تطيش، وأثبت الناس أعلمهم ولو صغر سنّه، فالعلم خبرة بلا تجارب

The worst kind of envy is that you mention the ills of someone to cover-up your own faults. The purest of hearts are those that grieve over the mistakes of others even if they themselves fall into them.
من أعظم الحسد أن تذكر مساوىء أحدٍ لتستر عيبك، وأطهر القلوب من يحزن لأخطاء الناس ولو كان يرتكبها.

Crying out of fear of Allah is by fearing what comes after death. There are some people who when they remember death they cry over parting this world, not over confronting the hereafter, thinking that comes under having fear of Allah.
البكاء من خشية الله يكون بالخوف مما بعد الموت ومن الناس من إذا تذكر الموت بكى على فراق الدنيا لا على استقبال الآخرة ويظن أن ذلك من خشية الله.

A sign of strong Īmān is feeling lonely when you abandon the remembrance of Allah until the heart remembers (Allah’s remembrance) when it feels lonely; just like the body remembers food when it feels hungry.
من علامة قوّة الإيمان الشعور بالوحشة عند ترك ذكر الله، حتى يتذكّر القلب (ذكر الله) إذا أحس بالوحشة كما يتذكر البدن الطعام إذا أحس بالجوع.

Whoever is with Allah, Allah is with him; if He gives him good He blesses it for him, and if He touches him with affliction He alleviates him through it.
من كان مع الله كان الله معه، إن أعطاه خيراً بارك له فيه، وإن مسّه بضر لطف عليه به

Among the causes of having worries disappear and sins forgiven is sending ṣalāh (supplications for peace) upon the Prophet ﷺ, and the effect of sending ṣalāh upon him on Friday is greatest. The Prophet ﷺ said to the one who would send ṣalāh upon him, “You will be freed of your worries and your sins will be forgiven.”
من أسباب زوال الهموم وغفران الذنوب الصلاة على النبي ﷺ، ويوم الجمعة يكون أثر الصلاة أعظم، قال النبي ﷺ للمصلي عليه (تُكفى همك ويُغفر لك ذنبك)

Benefiting people is a blessing. Whoever fulfills a need of someone should not busy himself with waiting for people to thank him instead of thanking Allah for such a blessing. It’s from Allah’s blessing upon you to have made fulfilling people’s needs on your hands.

I do not know of anyone in history whom through Allah benefited the Ummah with the truth except that he was touched with an affliction, small or big. Affliction is a door through which every truthful person must enter.
لا أعلم أحداً في التاريخ نفع الله به الأمة بالحقّ إلا وقد نزل به ابتلاء قلّ أو كثُر. الابتلاء باب لا بد أن يدخله كل صادق

Islam is the religion of mercy and ease. There is no narrowness except for one who has a narrow understanding or one who has broad evil desires and wants for Islam to broaden in order to accommodate for his lustful desires.
الإسلام دين الرحمة والتيسير، ولا يوجد التضييق إلا عند ضيّق الفهم، أو عند واسع الهوى يُريد من الإسلام أن يتّسع حتى يستوعب شهواته

أغلق أُذنيك عن سماع تصفيق المادحين، حتى لا تتوقف عن الحق إن توقفوا.

Tarbiyyah (upbringing) of children is among the greatest deeds that do not cease, for every good deed that they learn and act upon the reward is for the one who taught them, and if they go on to teach their children the reward would be for the first teacher.
تربية الأولاد من أعظم الأعمال التي لا تنقطع، فكل عمل صالح تعلموه وعملوا به فالأجر لمن علّمهم ولو علَّموا ذرياتهم لكان الأجر للمعلّم الأول.

بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ هُوَ اللهُ أَحَدٌ ۞ اللهُ الصَّمَدُ ۞ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۞وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۞ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۞ وَمِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۞ وَمِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ۞ وَمِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۞ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۞ إِلَهِ النَّاسِ ۞ مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۞ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۞ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ

أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ وَ لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، رَبِّ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَومِ، وَخَيْرَ مَا بَعْدَهُ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فِي هَذَا الْيَومِ، وَشَرِّ مَا بَعْدَهُ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ، وَسُوءِ الكِبَرِ، رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابٍ فِي النَّارِ وَعَذَابٍ فِي الْقَبْرِ

اَللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Importance of Morning & Evening Azkaar
Dhikr (remembrance) of Allāh in the morning is the provision for the soul to endure the troubles and difficulties of the day. The Prophet ﷺ and his Companions would take provision through dhikr, sitting after Fajr until the sun would rise.
ذكر الله في الإصباح زاد الروح لتحمّل عناء اليوم وشدائده، وقد كان النبي ﷺ وصحابته يتزودون بالذكر فيجلسون بعد الفجر حتى تطلع الشمس

Of those most deserving of the intercession of the Prophet ﷺ are those who send ṣalāh (supplications for peace) upon him the most, and the best day to send ṣalāh upon him is Friday.
مِن أَوْلى الناس بشفاعة النبي ﷺ أكثرهم صلاةً عليه، وأفضل الأيام للصلاة عليه يوم الجمعة

There is nothing today that competes with sincerity like taking pictures; a person goes to great lengths to show his good deeds to the world, while on the other hand the Salaf used to go to great lengths to hide their deeds from their own family.
لا يُزاحم الإخلاص اليوم شيء مثل (التصوير) يتكلّف الإنسان إظهار عمله الصالح للعالمين، وقد كان الواحد من السلف يتكلف إخفاءه عن أهل بيته.

How amazing the heart is! A piece of flesh that fits in one hand; if it is blissful it makes the one who lives in pits like one who owns the whole world, and if it is miserable it makes the one who owns the whole world like one whole lives in pits.
عجباً للقلب مضغة تملأ الكف إن كان سعيداً جعل ساكن الحُفر كمالك الدنيا، وإن كان شقياً جعل مالك الدنيا كساكن الحفر.

Vast amounts of wealth do not necessitate having a comfortable life, for whoever lacks Īmān (faith) his life will become constrained even if he has a vast amount of wealth:
{ وَمَنْ أَعْرَضَ عَنْ ذِكْرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُ مَعِيشَةً ضَنكاً }
“And whoever turns away from My remembrance, he will surely have a depressed life.” [Ṭā Hā 20:124]
سعة الرزق لا يلزم منها طيب العيش، فمن فقد الإيمان ضاق عيشه ولو اتسع رزقه (ومن أعرض عن ذكري فإن له معيشة ضنكاً).

A scholar who abandons commanding and prohibiting while busying himself with the virtues of Islam, like dhikr and manners, does not protect Islam. Allah entrusted him to protect the religion but instead he guards its windows and leaves its doors.
لا يَحفظ الإسلام عالمٌ ترك بيان (الأمر) و(النهي) واشتغل بفضائل الإسلام كالذكر والأدب، استأمنه الله على حماية الدين فحرس نوافذه وترك أبوابه.

According to some duʿat, the message of the Prophet’s daʿwah has turned from building glory for the truth to building glory for the self it has caused them to become busy with what attracts people to them more than clarifying the truth.

If Allah brings you harm and it brings you closer to Allah, then it is a blessing in the form of a wrath; and if Allah brings you a blessing and it distances you from Allah, then it is a wrath in the form of a blessing.
إذا أنزل الله بك ضراً فقرّبك من الله فهو نعمة في صورة نقمة، وإذا أنزل عليك نعمة فأبعدتك عن الله فهي نقمة في صورة نعمة.

If the servant was to know the amount of Allah’s favour and blessing upon him when He guides him to do good deeds, he would feel too ashamed to show off his good deeds to others.
لو عرف العبد مقدار منّة الله وفضله عليه حينما يوفقه للعمل الصالح لخجل من أن يُرائي أحداً من الخلق في عمله

Evil must be denounced before adaptation to it, for humans are subject to adaptation gradually. Immorality started among the people of Lut gradually; they denounced it until they absorbed it and then ridiculed the reformers.

There are no specific Islamic rulings authentically established concerning the end of the year or its beginning; not sayings, nor actions, nor virtues. Moreover, the Islamic calendar was not put in order except in the Khilāfah of ʿUmar.
لا يثبت لنهاية العام ولا بدايته أحكام شرعية خاصة، لا قول ولا فعل ولا فضل، ولم ينتظم التاريخ الهجري إلا في خلافة عمر

The intellect that does not contemplate is like the body that does not move. Allah has commanded us to frequently contemplate so that the intellects become strong in understanding meanings, just like bodies become strong in carrying weights by movement.
العقل الذي لا يُفكّر كالجسم الذي لا يتحرّك، وقد أمر الله بكثرة التفكّر لتتقوّى العقول على فهم المعاني، كما تتقوى الأجسام بالحركة على الأحمال

[Happiness & Tranquility]
Nothing waters hearts with happiness and tranquility like the Qur’ān, and nothing causes the soul to live with humility like prostrating to Allah. Whoever is deprived of a remembering tongue and a prostrating forehead proceeds behind a fake happiness.
لا يسقي القلوب بالسعادة والطمأنينة كالقرآن، ولا يعمر النفس بالخشوع كالسجود لله، ومن حُرم اللسان الذاكر والجبين الساجد سار خلف سعادة وهمية
