Israelis wanted the land, they've wanted it since the Russian Empire destroyed Poland (same region) in the 17th century and they were expelled. Zelensky is Israeli. Blackrock is an Israeli company. Zelensky, who was supposed to be the peace candidate for their sham elections, has utterly depopulated Ukraine. Like 60%+ of the farmland of Ukraine is now in the hands of Blackrock, since Ukraine can't pay their debts ever. Someone has to live in those lands right, it's the best farming area on earth pretty much so leaving all that extremely valuable land to no one seems like a waste. If only there was a people under constant attack in need of a new location to live.
