The electric field due to the remaining charged sphere can be found by considering the electric field of the original sphere minus the electric field of the sphere that was removed. 1) Electric Field at z = -R/2 due to the Original Sphere =ρR/6ϵ0 in negative z direction. 2) Electric Field at z = -R/2 due to the Removed Sphere can be calculated by seeing that the point z = -R/2 is outside this removed sphere & using the concept for a point outside a uniformly charged sphere, the electric field is the same as if all the charge were concentrated at the center. that will be ρR/24ϵ0 in negative z direction. now subtract 2 from 1 u will get result
