Police have inflicted grievous injuries on hundreds of demonstrators in the course of this movement. In this footage from today, activists demonstrate one means of limiting the movement of police officers in order to limit the harm they can cause.
This aerial footage shows the beauty and majesty of the Weelaunee Forest in Atlanta, Georgia and the destruction that Brent Scarborough Company is inflicting upon it at the behest of the same politicians who sent the police to murder Tortuguita and charge the other activists defending the forest with "terrorism." Rather than addressing the ecological or economic crises that threaten our communities, they aim to suppress all protest by means of brute force.

Mass shootings are a scourge in the USA, and to a lesser extent much of the world. The answer is neither guns nor armored buildings nor cops and laws.
Similar things happen with cars, blades, bombs, and fire (See: Happy Land Massacre) but what’s important is less the means than the motivation.
Can there be any worse form of alienation than the killing spree? What greater act can you take against the community than massacre?
Mass shooting is a product of capitalist alienation and bigoted politics: there’s always Misogyny, Racism, Homophobia, Transphobia, Xenophobia, Ageism.
Fundamentally, you have to devalue others lives to take such an act. Mass shootings are often targeted against a specific marginalized and/or hated group: children, women, BIPOC, queer people…
A healthy community that takes care of each other, that fights back against all alienation, that intervenes against harmful attitudes and behaviors; does not have mass killings.
Never heard of a school shooting in EZLN or Rojava.
Free healthcare. Free food. Free housing. Community spaces. Community events. A life that’s not a reactionary hellscape.
Talk to your neighbors. Check on your friends. And concern yourself with safety and well-being (your own and your community’s).

Over the last three years, a wave of anti-trans and anti-LGBTQ legislation has swept the United States. Dozens of state legislatures are taking steps to prevent schoolteachers from discussing gender or sexuality—to force school officials to “out” trans kids to their parents—and to make it illegal for trans kids to get crucial medical care.
These initiatives target a vulnerable population that is already suffering disproportionately high rates of suicide, houselessness, and violence—all of which will be exacerbated by these laws. Understood as a whole, this constitutes a concerted attack on the rights to gender and sexual self-determination that LGBTQ movements have fought for decades to win.
Why is this happening now? What does it mean in a global context? And how can we fight back?

Drone footage shows that Brent Scarborough Company has begun clearcutting the Weelaunee forest in Atlanta, Georgia. The city government has overseen the murder of Tortuguita, the charging of dozens of activists with terrorism for as little as occupying a tree or attending a music festival, and now they are hurrying to destroy the forest before a public reckoning takes place.
As species go extinct by the thousand, as hurricanes and forest fires and other disasters exacerbated by climate change tear through your community, when you find yourself living in a concrete wasteland, remember—none of this was inevitable. These tragedies are the direct consequence of the decisions of self-seeking politicians, corporate profiteers, and armed mercenaries—specific individuals who have names and addresses. They are making the earth uninhabitable in pursuit of personal gain, imposing the consequences on the rest of us.
We owe it to the future of all living things to stop them.

So far:
- The perp is allegedly a trans man named Aiden Hale, and most of the MSM's reporting has misgendered them, including the initial police press conference.
- Allegedly, the perp had planned to shoot up other places, but the police have not elaborated.
- The perp was a former student at the school in question (exact time unclear).
- The perp's social media pages don't contain a history of violent content. The closest thing is a single piece of The Shining fanart.
- Nashville police say they have a manifesto written by the perp, but will not say what is in it.
- The perp made some pro-LGBT content, but it appears that said content was commissioned by third parties.
- This massacre is most likely not connected to any of the recent transphobic legislation that has been passed in Tennessee, and much more likely is connected to a personal grudge against the school.
- There are several images that the right is claiming to depict the perp, but basically all of them are unrelated to them. This includes a photoshopped image of right-wing edgelord "comedian" Sam Hyde (because the "Sam Hyde did it" meme won't ever die).
The outburst of violence that the demonstrators suffered inflicted hundreds of injuries, including several serious physical injuries, as announced in the various reports available. The 30,000 demonstrators had come with the objective of blocking the construction of the mega-basins of Sainte-Soline, a project of water monopolization carried out by a small number of people for the benefit of a capitalist model that has nothing left to defend but death. The violence of the armed arm of the democratic state is the most striking expression of this.
In response to the window of possibility that the movement against the pension reform has opened, the police are mutilating people and even trying to assassinate people in order to prevent an uprising, to defend the bourgeoisie and its world. Nothing will weaken our determination to put an end to their reign. On Tuesday, March 28 and the following days, let’s strengthen the strikes and blockades, let’s take the streets, for S. and all those from our movements who have been wounded and locked up.
Long live the revolution.

For St. Patrick's Day, we honor the leader of Ireland's revolutionary socialist struggle, James Connolly.
Connolly founded the Irish Socialist Republican Party in 1898 and in 1903 the Irish Transport & General Workers' Union, which became the largest union in Ireland and led the 1913 Dublin Lockout.
Connolly also played a leading role in the Easter Rising of 1916 against Britain, waged at the height of WWI under the slogan: "England's misfortune is Ireland's opportunity". On May 12, Connolly and other leaders of the rising were tried by a secret British court-martial that lasted only a few minutes and executed by firing squad.
Connolly believed sacrificing his life was necessary to inspire Irish people to take up arms against British rule, which indeed it would come to do in the years and decades that followed. Shortly before his execution his wife Lille said to him: "Your life, James, your beautiful life." to which he replied: "Well, Lillie, hasn't it been a beautiful life, and isn't this a good end?

Secret Service and ICE conducted illegal surveillance through fake cell towers
A newly-released report by the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) revealed that federal agencies, including Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), used cell-site simulators (CSS) to illegally conduct surveillance.
CSS, aka Stingrays, are devices that mimic cell phone towers, duping mobile devices within a certain radius to connect to them instead of cell towers. Once connected to the CSS, law enforcement can conduct a search of the devices, in violation of basic constitutional freedoms.
