After reading many experiences of others, I guess it’s finally my turn to share mine.
I woke up early in the morning, went to Pashupatinath Temple, came back home, had my lunch, and stayed calm for a few hours. Although my interview was scheduled for 2 PM, I reached the embassy at 12:30 PM.
I stayed in the queue, went through all the processes, and finally entered the interview section. I don’t know if the officer was the "young visa officer" everyone talks about, but I ended up on his side. Within the one hour I was inside, I noticed him approving only one applicant while rejecting almost everyone else.
Interview Conversation:
Me: Namaste, good afternoon officer! How are you doing?
VO: Good afternoon, I’m doing great. How about you?
Me: I’m also doing great lately. Thank you for asking.
VO: What is your name?
Me: My name is [Your Name].
VO: What is the name of your university?
Me: It’s [University Name], officer.
VO: Why do you want to study in this field?

Tips from My Experience:
The main thing is to stay confident and speak as fluently as possible.
Always tell the truth and maintain proper body posture and hand gestures to appear confident.
Most importantly, make strong eye contact with the visa officer. Don’t get distracted—practice in front of a mirror as much as you can.
Don’t listen to anyone while standing in line. Many people will give you different opinions, but just focus on yourself and your preparation. Listening to them might make you nervous or distracted.

Me: yes officer I am going for biology major with a focus on wildlife management because I want to manage the human wildlife conflict in my country.
Officer you know when I get interested in this major when I was in 9th grade I heard that one of our neighborhood who was working in bardiya national park was killed by a tiger while managing wildlife. From that moment I realized that in my country there have been many incident where people have been killed by a tiger. From then I decided to learn study management so that I can manage human wildlife conflict ensuring that both wildlife and local communities can leave their life peacefully.
Officer: does Texas state university provide wildlife biology.
Me: yes officer. Even it collaborates with Texas park and wildlife department and also it aligns with wildlife society mission which are dedicated to prepare young professionals for a future in managing, conserving and researching wildlife. So I want to be one of them.
Also I have been accepted into honor college at Texas state university from which I can have opportunity to have small seminar size classes, can conduct different research opportunities and can participate in it. And also I can easily collaborates with my professor.
Officer: doesn't this course provide in Nepal.
Me: no ( yes vnera chai weak point mention garnu parthyo) because the equipment like high end analysis equipment and wildlife tracking and monitoring devices are not advanced in my country which is important for my major.
Also USA provide me the specialization and different research opportunities which doesn't provide me by my country.

Me: My father owns a big vegetable store in bishranti tarkari bazaar from where he earns around 16000 USD per year and my mother runs a poultry farm in our village from where she earns around 20000 per annually.

Me=Officer as I have already completed my 4 years of technical and vocational training in civil engineering that was from grade 9-12 which is also equivalent to diploma course here in Nepal.And, at that time I have learned basic fundamental concepts and knowledge about civil engineering but now I want to learn each and everything in details about civil engineering and become an expert of that field.As you can also say I am just continuing my previous education background.
VO=Ok so what did you do in your OJT?
Me= Most of the time I go for the inspection of sites like houses, lands etc for valuation required for loan process .As well as I also used to upload the documents of clients in the metropolitan website to get legal authority from governmental engineers to construct or reconstruct the infrastructure of clients and they are mostly residential and commercial buildings.
VO=So what is residential building?
=It is simply define as a building that is built for the purpose of living of residents like house.
VO=So you only did OJT?
Me=Officer after my OJT I have Did a job as junior site sub engineer in the construction of dharan itahari highway for 9 months.
VO=So Bachelor in civil engineering right?How this course will help you in your career?
Me=Officer as my career goal is to run my own construction business and work as a civil engineer myself here in Nepal.So to run a construction company I will need the concept of construction management and to work as a civil engineer I will need the concept of civil engineering.And the degree that I am going to pursue in Texas state university will provide me the concept of both construction management and civil engineering due to the concept of TEI i.e. Technology enhanced infrastructure in its civil engineering program .So in this way it will help me.
VO=What is Technology enhanced infrastructure?
Me=It is the concept used in civil engineering to equip students with latest civil engineering like predictive modelling, virtual models and simulation, intelligent transportation system.As well as it also includes the concept of data management, asset management, event detection etc used in the field of construction management.

Me-Yes officer I have applied and got rejected from that country.
VO=So why Did you applied to Canada?
Me=Officer as I have my uncle living in victoria,British Columbia, Canada.And it's also my first decision of my life to leave my country and go to another country for study so my parents are really worried about me and did kind of pressure to me to go Canada so that I can have parental support from my uncle during my whole study in Canada.But officer everything happens for a good reason.After my rejection I got to know about universities in USA specially its on campus accomodation service which will also provide me kind of parental support from on campus members and professor.And after knowing all this I told this to my parents and also mentioned about a degree that will provide me the concept of both civil engineering and construction management that I have mentioned earlier too how it will.And now yes my parents are also ready and happy to sponsor me and I am also very confident applying to USA.

Time : 10 AM (But I entered the Embassy at 7:30 and got the visa at 8:30 AM)
I was both excited and a bit nervous at first. It was so cold in the garden area (waiting area). I was literally shivering there due to the cold.Then, I entered the biometric and interview room and it felt so comfortable. The temperature was warm and I was fully confident there. The staff assigned me to Counter 7 and the girl ahead of me got rejected from the same counter. I think her major was business related. Here goes my interview :
Me : Good morning, sir. How are you doing?
VO : Good morning.
Me : Here is my passport, I20, and the transcript.
(He looked at I20)
VO : Oh Computer Engineering. Tell me something about it.
Me : Sir, Computer Engineering provides a strong foundation in both hardware and software systems of the computer, but it's slightly more hardware focused. I am interested in Robotics, so I decided to pursue this major.
(Started typing for 3-5 seconds)
VO : Hmm you like Robotics, why is that?
Me : Yes sir, I have been working in different Robotics projects during my highschool and I used to lose track of time while working in it. I have even competed in an international robotics competition which was held in India (interrupted)
VO : And where was the competition held? Was it in Delhi?
Me : No sir, It was in Lucknow, India. It was hosted by City Montessori School and there were students from countries like Germany, Russia, Brazil, and Thailand as well.
(Ekxin silence)
And out of nowhere VO took the green slip and said
"I'm approving your visa."
Me : Thank you so much sir. Have a great day.
The interview lasted around a minute maybe. Tips that I felt would work:
1. Eye contact matters (One VO was staring so much at one of the girl's eyes while asking about sponsors.)
2. If you have something to flex, flex it out. It will give you a step ahead from others.
3. Confidence matters. (May sound generic but that's the reality). If you go blank, have an inactive body posture or repeating the same sentence again and again, it's surely a rejection.
4. Be honest (Nowadays, VO are asking a lot of cross questions and they can surely find lies.)

1.Smile doesn’t matter, for me I think right expression is very important
You have to be serious sometimes as well.
2. Eye contact is most and hand gestures as well , we don’t eyes contact through out thé interview but hand gestures were there and he was watching my hand continuously?
3. And when you enter the room the officer do noticed you so be calm and try tỏ communicate with others specially visit visa ones. They need your help ỉn many cases so you feel better as well .
4. Firstly make one line and strong answer and giving mock make your speaking good and no thing more then that rather go for mirror practice and try hand gestures

I also told him I did internship in the airlines so I know insights of Nepal’s aviation industry.
Vo: he was confused about my transcripts since I have transcripts from my training as well as my grade 12
Me: I explained him that I had a course after my last rejection and that is my recent transcript and the other one is my grade 12th transcript
Vo: ohh okay tell me about this training that you’re doing what is that
Me: I explained to him about my course and said that this course perfectly aligns with my major and focuses on the safety part of aviation industry
Vo: how does it focus on the safety?
Me: officer we know that most of the air crashes that are happening in Nepal are due to poor aviation management safety. I gave him example of recent Saurya Airlines crash and told him the plan crashed because due to poor management since the weight of aircraft wasn’t balanced properly. And this course will provided me knowledge to ensure similar incidents doesn’t happen again.
Vo: How do you balance the weight of aircraft to avoid crash?
Me: I was constantly using my hand gestures and told him we know there are two sides in aircraft right? Right and left. If one side is heavier than the other the airplane crashes so weight and baggage such be arranged in such a way that both of the sides has equal balance. This will avoid plan tilting down and crashing. ( I explained in very simple way)
Vo: Looking at my trainings transcript he saw I did a course in aircraft turnaround and asked me what is aircraft turnaround?
Me: I explained in very simple way I didn’t get any questions that I had prepared for

Me- well, as I graduated my 10th grade from the school which was a beach of my college, I was already familiar with the teacher and they also knew me, and they loved me a lot so, I enjoyed my high school year.
Vo- how did you secure this much scholarship?
Me- officer, I got that scholarship based on my highschool gpa and Sat score.
Vo- how much did your score in sat?
Me-xxx (yo ni vanina la haha)
Vo- how much did you score in your ept.?
Me- officer I got overall band of 7 in my IELTS.
Vo- what does your father do?
Me- well, he owns a xxxx named business though he mainly does export and import of diff commodities.
