Hare Krishna! Excerpts from the teachings of Srila Prabhupada and other Gaudiya Vaishnav Acharyas.
"We Should Try"
But I am chanting and I am thinking of and planning something else, that is aparādha. But that does not mean we shall stop. But we should try, abhyāsa-yoga, we should try to make it our habit, by chanting the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, we should immediately remember the form, quality, pastimes of Kṛṣṇa.

The Battle of Kuruksetra was planned by the Lord to establish the real representative of the Lord, Maharaja Yudhisthira. An ideal king thoroughly trained by culture and devotional service with the martial spirit makes a perfect king. Such a personal monarchy is far better than the so-called democracy of no training and responsibility. The thieves and rogues of modern democracy seek election by misrepresentation of votes, and the successful rogues and thieves devour the mass of population. One trained monarch is far better than hundreds of useless ministerial rogues, and it is hinted herein that by abolition of a monarchical regime like that of Maharaja Pariksit, the mass of people become open to many attacks of the age of Kali. They are never happy in an overly advertised form of democracy.

Nama-prabhu Does Not Tolerate Criticism Of A Preacher!
Sri Padma Purana states: satam ninda namnah paramam aparadham vitanute / yatah
khyatim yatam katham u sahate tad-vigarham To blaspheme the great saintly persons who are engaged in preaching the glories of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra is the worst offense at the lotus feet of the holy name. One should not criticize a preacher of the glories of the Hare Krsna maha-mantra. If one does so, he is an offender. The Nama-prabhu, who is identical with Krsna, will never tolerate such blasphemous activities, even from one who passes as a great devotee.
- Srila Prabhupada - CC Adi 8.24 purport.
In Bhagavad-gītā, Kṛṣṇa explains how the ātmā entangled in māyā may become disentangled. He describes reincarnation, karma, the material and spiritual worlds, the demigods, and much more. Ultimately, He reveals Himself as the Supreme Personality of Godhead. Bhagavad-gītā is a summary of all transcendental knowledge. Although brief, it is complete and perfect. It teaches all that is explained in other scriptures of the world and also reveals truths not found elsewhere.
But so unfortunate are the youth of modern India that, in the land where Bhagavad-gītā was spoken, they are not taught the invaluable and essential lessons of Bhagavad-gītā. Bhagavad-gītā is studied and respected throughout the world, but nowadays Indians are too "advanced" and "modern" to want to know what it teaches. What a deplorable condition this great land of spiritual culture has degraded into! Innumerable youth pore over sexy magazines, but hardly a few have even once read Bhagavad-gītā.
- A Message To The Youth Of India
*Prabhupāda:* “Those who are Kṛṣṇa conscious are not afraid of bomb. When they see a bomb coming, they think that Kṛṣṇa desired the bomb to come. A Kṛṣṇa conscious person is never afraid of anything. Bhayaṁ dvitīyābhiniveśataḥ syāt. One who has the conception that something can exist outside of Kṛṣṇa is afraid. On the other hand, one who knows that everything is coming from Kṛṣṇa has no reason to be afraid. The bomb is coming – he says, ‘Ah, Kṛṣṇa is coming.’ That is the vision of the devotee. He thinks, ‘Kṛṣṇa wants to kill me with a bomb. That is all right. I will be killed.’ That is Kṛṣṇa consciousness.”✨✨🥳

Sadhu does not mean that he is alone enjoying the fruits of his spiritual life. Sadhu means who is trying to make others sadhu. He is sadhu. Krsna likes such sadhu, as He has described in the last portion of Bhagavad-gita, na ca tasman manusyesu kascin me priya-krttamah.

Gita jayanti must be observed on Mokshada Ekadashi.
But this Ekadashi fasting must be observed on Dvadashi because it happens to be Pakshavardhini Maha Dvadashi!
Whenever a Maha dvadashi appears, fasting must not be done on Ekadashi but on maha dvadashi, this is the principle in the shastras.
Therefore,
Gita Jayanthi is on December 3
And
Ekadashi fasting on December 4

You'll Invoke Love Of God
Offensive chanting may give you material pains and pleasure, and almost offenseless will give you liberation, will place you in the transcendental platform. And when it is offenseless, then immediately you'll invoke love of God, kṛṣṇa-prema.
THE NECTAR OF DEVOTION LECTURE - VṚNDĀVANA, NOVEMBER 8, 1972
Habituated To Read The Books More Profoundly!
Regarding the starting of a society newsletter, I think there is no need for it. Do not unnecessarily increase your responsibilities. What responsibilities you have make perfect. Besides, we already have our society journal, Back to Godhead. As for receiving news of other centers, why should you be so anxious? The news is always the same, sankirtana is going on, deity worship, with little change. We should rather turn our interest to learn from the books more and more. We should inquire about Krsna. Temple life is going on with little change, but we should become habituated to read the books more profoundly. Then if you have some questions about Krsna consciousness as in the books, you can ask an elder Godbrother or write to me directly. That will help you make progress.
- From a letter by Srila Prabhupada to Sukadeva - Bhaktivedanta Manor 23 July, 1973
Husband and wife as true benefactors for one another
When the husband is executing his activities very nicely it is credit not only to the husband himself, but it is a credit to his wife also. In materialistic marriages generally there are too many troubles and frustrations because the basic principle for both the husband and wife is their own personal sense gratification. Therefore there is inevitable conflict and divorce petition. But in a Krishna Conscious marriage the basic principle is for both husband and wife to serve Krishna nicely and to help the partner advance in spiritual life. In this way both the husband and wife are true benefactors for one another and there is no question of any serious conflicts or separation.
From Srila Prabhupada’s letter to Balai Dasi — 21 July, 1969
Unfortunately, India's good name is ever being spoiled by cheating swamis who go overseas, talk all nonsense and take people's money. But if sincere Indians preach Bhagavad-gītā as it is, gradually the world will gratefully accept it. By spreading the real message of Bhagavad-gītā, Indians can do the greatest service to themselves, their country, and mankind. India can lead the world-not by politics, technology, or military dominion, but by spiritual strength. This is Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's mission. When Indians have the best knowledge, why should they give anything less? Why cheat people on the name of religion? Give people the real thing: Kṛṣṇa consiousness. The world will be benefitter. India will be glorified.

Reporter (1): Are your disciples supposed to chant the mantra all the time?
Prabhupada: Yes. All my disciple is chanting.
Reporter (1): Are they supposed to chant the mantra throughout the day?
Prabhupada: Oh, yes.
Reporter (1): All the time?
Prabhupada: Just like I am talking with you, and as soon as talking stops, I am... My hand is going: "Hare Krsna." Kirtaniyah sada.
Reporter (1): Is it possible to talk and also to chant the mantra at the same time?
Prabhupada: Yes. That requires practice. That requires practice. Just like woman is cooking and [s]he is also talking. It does not mean the cooking is going bad. It is practice.

Kṛṣṇa consciousness is non-sectarian in the true sense of the term, for it transcends such designations as Hindu or non-Hindu. The ātmā is neither Hindu nor non-Hindu but an eternal particle of God.
Consequently, Indians born in non-Hindu families should not consider Kṛṣṇa consciousness merely another sectarian faith.
