Larsen & Toubro: Larsen & Toubro maintained the double-digit growth momentum in Q4FY24, led by the core project and manufacturing business as well as the financial services business. The core infrastructure segment posted a 22% growth, led by strong execution and a robust order book. Double-digit growth in the hi-tech manufacturing business also helped. Strong retail disbursements resulted in robust growth for the Financial Services business, boosting overall growth. Operating margins continued to remain under pressure, declining on a YoY basis. Early-stage execution in the hi-tech business and lower margins in financial services and development projects businesses led to a drop in the overall margin. IT Services business margins were broadly in line with the previous year. The domestic market, which forms about 60% of revenues as well as the order book, is impacted by the Lok Sabha election. Owing to the model code of conduct, the government is not announcing any major infrastructure project and policy action is muted. A new government will be formed in June and policy decisions on new projects will be taken mostly towards the fag end of H1FY25. L&T is sitting on a record order book of Rs 475,800 crore, which is about 3.8x trailing revenues, providing a strong growth visibility over the medium to long run. L&T has reduced the working capital cycle for the core business. Positive on Larsen & Toubro given an increase in domestic private capex and booming infrastructure spend in India.
Hero MotoCorp: Hero MotoCorp has recorded a significant enhancement in operating margin throughout the last quarter of FY24 as well as the entire fiscal year. This improvement is credited to a notable reduction in raw material costs, alongside operating leverage. Moreover, the company has witnessed substantial growth in revenue, largely driven by the introduction of new models in the premium segment. The company is seeing a surge in demand, particularly in rural areas, supported by the combination of renewed consumer interest and the introduction of new models in the premium segment. This, in turn, has resulted in a YoY growth of 9.6% in Q4FY24. The net operating revenue has recorded a YoY growth of 14.6%, driven by a 4.6% increase in realisation. The management has indicated that the tough phase of low demand has passed and is now optimistic about a favourable uptick in demand across all segments, encompassing both entry-level and premium categories. With commodity prices remaining stable, expectations of normal monsoons, and government spending expected to increase, it sees multiple tailwinds for the sector over the upcoming quarters. The company is actively investigating opportunities within the EV sector, which is expected to become a significant catalyst for demand in the upcoming years. With the successful rollout of its EV model, the company is achieving a weekly production rate of 1,000 units. Positive on Hero Motocorp given the resonable valuation and demand recovery in rural areas.

Britannia Limited: Britannia ltd has registered strong financial performance for the 4Th Quarter FY’24. Total sales for the 4th quarter stood at Rs. 4,014 Cr, up by 3.1% as compared to the 4th quarter of the last fiscal year. For the full FY24 the sales stood at Rs. 16,546.21 Cr, up by 3.5% compared to FY’23 and the EBIDTA for the year stood at Rs. 3,169 Cr which is a growth of 12% as compared to FY23. Over the past 2 years, the company has shown revenue growth of 19% and 43% increase in their operating profits, which was a result of strategic pricing strategies which helped them gain market share. The company also expanded its distribution network by reaching approximately 27.9 lakh outlets directly and by adding 2000 rural distributors over the past year. Also, the company saw a double-digit growth in Modern Trade and Ecommerce segment of business during FY24. The company will focus on investing in their brand and carry on its competitive pricing strategies with an objective of driving market share while maintaining profits. Positive on Britannia Limited given its improvement in market share and management expectation of achieving double digit volume growth in FY25.
Kotak Mahindra Bank: Kotak Mahindra Bank has posted a steady and satisfactory performance in Q4FY24 under its new CEO. Advances growth remained strong at over 20% YoY and over 5% sequentially with high-yielding products such as credit cards, personal loans, MFI (micro finance), and commercial vehicles in leading roles. The share of unsecured loans is 11.8% of the book, having seen an improvement of 80 basis points in the past year. The bank intends to take this share to mid-teens. With a steep sequential growth of close to 10%, more than double the sequential growth in advances, the bank saw a meaningful moderation in its credit-to-deposit ratio. The YoY growth in deposits for FY24 was 23.6% with a major contribution from term deposits. The interest margin performance of the bank so far has been spectacular and Q4 saw a sequential improvement of 6 basis points in interest margin. The improvement mostly came on the back of a higher lending yield. Although slippage in FY24 was a tad higher compared to the previous fiscal, the bank managed to keep an overall pristine asset quality with gross and net NPA ratios at the end of FY24 at 1.39% and 0.34% respectively with a provision cover of 76% and negligible restructured assets. Positive on Kotak Mahindra Bank given the strong set of 4QFY24 earning performance.

During the fiscal year 2023-24, over 3.26 crore new demat accounts were opened, with a record 1.09 crore of these registered in the Q4 FY 23-24 alone, the highest quarterly registration of demat accounts in CDSL's history. All the segments including Depository, Data Entry & Storage and Repository segments reported strong revenue growth of 88%, 109% and 74% YoY respectively. EBIT margin improved in all the segments. The robust performance has been led by all the segments including Depository, Data Entry & Storage and Repository. The buoyancy in the equity market and increasing retail participation in equity investments have led such robust growth for CDSL. Positive on CDSL given the consistent strong quarterly earnings growth.
Ramkrishna Forgings: Ramkrishna Forgings has posted a strong set of numbers for Q4 FY24, propelled by a substantial rise in export tonnage. Company recorded a robust YoY tonnage growth of 18.3% in the export market, driven by the recovery in those regions and an increase in content per vehicle. Export volume helped the company to post a strong 14.7% growth in net revenue, despite domestic market weakness. The prosperity of Ramkrishna Forgins is intricately tied to the expansion of the CV industry. Given the government's emphasis on stimulating economic activities, it is anticipated that the CV industry will sustain the positive momentum in the medium- to long-term. During 4QFY24, company has successfully secured orders worth Rs 270 crore for the Vande Bharat train project, scheduled for completion over the next two years. The management has hinted that a successful execution of this order could unlock substantial opportunities for the company within this segment. Regarding EVs, the company is targeting 3-wheelers (3Ws) and passenger vehicles (PVs) across various geographical regions. Despite the current minimal contribution from EVs, the management expects that as the market size for EVs expands, the company will see significant growth in this segment. Positive on Ramkrishna Forgings given strong set of 4QFY24 performance.
