*Concord Biotech:* Concord Biotech is a leading entity in the fermentation API space posted a top-line growth of 19% in FY24, aided by a foray into formulations. While growth in formulations dented gross margins, EBITDA margins improved, thanks to operating leverage and stable pricing. The management mentions that the recent softness in API business was due to the delay in regulatory approval for one of the products. After the approval, the company has already started exporting that product to Europe. Further, the new plant for API at Limbasi, Gujarat, is already seeing an increased offtake. The current utilisation here is at 38 percent and the company guides for a further ramp-up. Also, the company has a product pipeline of 8-10 molecules, which should get commercialised in the next 3-4 years. They include Fidaxomicin and Daptomycin (anti-infectives), and Epirubicin, Doxorubicin, Idarubicin, and Pirarubicin (oncology). This should help Concord maintain segmental sales break-up between API and formulations at a ratio of 80:20 in the medium run. While the first quarter of FY25 was seasonally lean, the coming quarters are expected to benefit from the ramp-up in newer plants. The main growth driver for the company in recent times has been the formulations business, which now constitutes 21% of sales, compared to 16 percent in the same quarter last year. *Positive on Concord Biotech given the sustainable financial performance.*

*Va Tech Wabag:* Va Tech Wabag is aligning its business with a long-term focus on profitable growth. Last year it reduced exposure to Europe, concentrated on industrial orders, and increased the share of EP projects. While benefits from some of these initiatives are visible, there is more to come, leading to higher growth and better profitability. During 1QFY25, company reported revenue growth of 13% YoY led by higher execution and strong orders in hand. New projects, mainly in Chennai and Bangladesh, have started contributing to revenues, resulting in higher growth. Moreover, margins were quite good, in line with the company’s guidance on the back of cost optimisation, reduced exposure to the European business, and a focus on profitable projects. During the quarter, the EBITDA margins expanded by 111 basis points to 12.98%. Va Tech is optimistic about growth because of the focus on execution, strong orders in hand, and the focus on industrial projects thus expecting 15-20% revenue growth in FY25. Company has order book of Rs 10,700 crore, which is over 3.8x its annual revenue, providing strong revenue visibility. In the international markets, it has participated in projects worth close to $1 billion and expects some of them to fructify in the current fiscal. *Positive on Va Tech Wabag given the long-term opportunities, a strong order book, and expected earnings growth.*

*Stock in Action*

*INDUSIND BANK Ltd.:* Indusind Bank loan strategy emphasizes careful navigation of the interest rate environment while managing growth across segments. A significant portion of the bank's loan portfolio is linked to the Marginal Cost of Funds-based Lending Rate (MCLR), with 15-16% of the portfolio tied to the External Benchmark based Lending Rate (EBLR). This positions the bank well to benefit from the potential rate cuts in 2HFY25. As a prudent strategy, the bank has moderated its growth in the MFI (micro finance) segment to avoid potential risks. The bank has consciously increased the mix of retail deposits over the past few years, as it reported ~19% CAGR in retail deposits over the past two years. The share of retail deposits has surged to 44% of total deposits in 1QFY25 from 31% in FY20. The affluent customer segment is performing well, and the bank plans to extend services to the top 100 cities to better focus on this segment. Indusind bank has been able to report a stable NIM trajectory over the past many quarters. Its financial strategy effectively leverages its loan portfolio's composition and focuses on optimizing yields and margins amid a dynamic rate environment. *Positive on INDUSIND Bank given the potential benefit from the rate cuts in 2HFY25.*

*Firstsource Solutions Ltd.:* Firstsource Solutions, a global provider of specialist domain-led Business Process Services, seems well-poised to benefit from the expected recovery in overall demand in H2FY25 and a likely rate cut announcement from the Federal Reserve towards the end of the year. The company reported strong 1QFY25 results with revenue from operations of Rs. 17,911 million (US$ 215 million) rising 7.2% QoQ and 17.1% YoY. EBIT came in at Rs. 1,970 million, increasing 7.7% QoQ and 10.1% YoY. The EBIT margin remained flat QoQ and declined slightly by 70bps to 11% in the quarter. PAT experienced QoQ and YoY growth of 1.3% and 7.4%, respectively, to Rs. 1,353 million. The company signed three strategically large deals in Q1FY25 and added 10 new logos across the BFS, Healthcare, and CMT verticals. The attrition rate came down to 32% in 1QFY25 from 41.7% in 1QFY24. Management expects a continued downward trend in attrition rate, supported by employee‐focused initiatives aimed at enhancing overall employee experience and satisfaction. Going forward, Firstsource has a robust pipeline, reflecting the efficacy of a diversified portfolio. For FY25, the company expects constant currency revenue growth in the range of 11.5-13.5%, up from its earlier projection of 10-13%. Guidance for EBIT margin was retained at 11-12%. *Positive on Firstsource Solutions given its good set of 1QFY25 numbers and an expected recovery in the IT sector in H2FY25.*
