US producer prices up by 0.3% in January
Producer prices in the United States saw a monthly increase of 0.3% in January, the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed in its report issued on Friday. Year-on-year, the figure grew by 0.9%.
The document attributed the rise primarily to hospital outpatient care.
The index for final demand less foods, energy, and trade services gained 0.6% every month and 2.6% annually.

The Bank of Russia announced the decision to leave its key interest rate unchanged, leaving the benchmark rate at 16%.
The report states,"current inflationary pressures have eased compared with the autumn months but remain high. Inflation is predicted to decline to 4.0–4.5% in 2024 and will" stabilize close to 4% further on"
It was added that"the Russian economy grew at an annual rate of 3.6% in 2023, exceeding the Bank of Russia's previous forecast," adding that "given increased inflationary pressures, this means that domestic demand is still considerably outstripping the capabilities to expand the production of goods and services.

US initial jobless claims down by 8,000 to 212,000
The number of initial jobless claims in the United States for the week ending February 10 decreased by 8,000 compared to the previous week's revised rate to land at 212,000, the US Labor Department reported on Thursday. The 4-week moving average increased by 5,750 from the previous week's revised average to stand at 218,500.

US inflation falls to 3.1% in January
Annual inflation in the United States stood at 3.1% in January, according to the latest report by the Bureau of Labor Statistics published on Tuesday.
