I appreciate the deadlift, there’s something raw and very real about it. The word is powerless here, there’s no way to trick or manipulate a deadlift. Ideas, reputation, guilt and propaganda have no sway here either. The deadlift simply tests your overall strength and it doesn’t lie. If you fail it’s not because you didn’t argue well enough or pay enough money, you’re just not strong enough and if you want to conquer then you need to get stronger.
Life should be this simple and in essence, it is. It’s the basic reality of our world, we can evade it for a time but it will always come back around eventually. And so the deadlift is always good for some raw perspective.
