JYP Entertainment and Stray Kids presented unforgettable days to children with incurable diseases abroad.
JYP signed an MOU with Make-A-Wish Korea in June 2019 and has continued its representative CSR activity "EDM (Every Dream Matters!: All Dreams in the World are Precious)" (EDM) by emotionally supporting children with incurable diseases. Recently, five overseas patients conveyed their dreams of becoming JYP artists, and Stray Kids met them non-face-to-face and made memories.
Helena Nicuesa, 21, of Spain, has been hospitalized for about 16 years and receiving medication since she was diagnosed with severe epilepsy in 2004. Touched by the expression, "Stray Kids has brought happiness, friends, love, and luck," Stray Kids members had a good time answering questions about music and dreams that Elena was curious about. Tiffany Tan (17 years old), who lives in Singapore, said, "My right side of the body has weakened a lot due to mitral valve infectious endocarditis, but I gained strength dreaming of meeting Stray Kids. In response, the members cheered by singing "You're Doing Well" and "CASE 143" (Case One Four Three), and Tiffany strengthened a special bond by introducing gifts such as cards and accessories made by herself.
Portuguese Leonor Passagem (17 years old) suffers from Hodgkin's lymphoma, which is caused by the malignant lymphatic system, but continues to be treated for complete recovery. When Stray Kids said that they liked the "Double Knot" performance the most among many songs, they shared their joy by showing short choreography. Singaporean Adrianna Delilah Tupaz, 14, was born with hypoplasmic left-heart syndrome and underwent seven more surgeries after her first heart operation at one month of age, and is devoted to treatment for heart transplants. Adriana boasted of the bowl she made for Stray Kids, and the members admired her high-quality skills and replied with a precious heart that they wanted to have a chance to receive it in person. British national Keiah Taylor, 14, was diagnosed with dysplastic anemia, but is in good condition after receiving hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, and continues to receive treatment for seizure night hemoglobinuria. Kei, who has been looking forward to meeting Stray Kids since 2020, finally achieved her long-cherished wish by sharing her warm sincerity through time to talk about her usual curiosity to the members she encountered.
Tiffany said, "I became more confident when I met my favorite Stray Kids. I am well aware that this opportunity cannot be given to everyone. "I thank everyone who worked hard for my wish, especially Stray Kids members," Adriana said. "It was a really thrilling and happy experience and I fell in love with Stray Kids more through today. I will never forget this moment for the rest of my life. "I hope you will continue to work hard," he said.
Stray Kids said, "It's rewarding and proud that our stage is a great strength and meaning to someone. Rather, we received more positive energy through Wish Day. I am grateful to the five STAY (fandom name: STAY) for being with me, and although we met non-face-to-face due to COVID-19, I will be very happy if we can meet in person next time. "Thank you for giving me a good opportunity," he said. Stray Kids will deliver gifts such as autographed albums and season greetings to help children.
JYP has been steadily carrying out activities for children with incurable diseases, starting with Park Jin-young, who met with children fighting leukemia and taught dance and singing lessons, with artists communicating with them and inviting them to concerts to share memories. Through the EDM wish-fulfillment project, 50 children achieved their wishes last year, and by 2022, they are working with a total of 230 people to help the world's countless dreams and hopes.
