ब्रिटिश कालीन भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था से जुड़ी कुछ प्रथाएं –

✅ ददनी प्रथा – दादनी प्रथम के अंतर्गत अंग्रेज व्यापारी भातीय श्रमिकों शिल्पियों को रुपये अग्रिम संविदा के रूप में देते थे।
✅ कमियौटी प्रथा – बिहार एवं उड़ीसा में प्रचलित इस प्रथा में कमियां जाति के कृषि दास मालिक से प्राप्त ऋण पर दी जाने वाला ब्याज की राशि के बदले जीवन भर कार्य करते थे।
✅ तीन कठिया प्रथा – चंपारण (बिहार) क्षेत्र में प्रचलित इस प्रथा में कृषकों को अंग्रेज बागान मालिकों के अनुबंध के अनुसार भूमि के 3/20 भाग पर नील की खेती करना आवश्यक था।
✅ दुबला हाली प्रथा – भारत के पश्चिमी क्षेत्र मुख्यतः सूरत (गुजरात) क्षेत्र में प्रचलित इस प्रथा के अंतर्गत दुबला हाली भूदास अपनी संपत्ति का और स्वयं का संरक्षक अपने मालिकों को ही मानते थे।
✅ गिरमिटिया प्रथा – 19वीं शताब्दी के तीसरे दशक में शुरु की गई इस प्रथा में भारतीय श्रमिकों को एक समझौते के अंतर्गत 5 या 7 वर्ष के लिये विदेशों में मजदूरी करनी होती थी। इस समझौते को गिरमिट तथा इस प्रथा को गिरमिटिया प्रथा कहा जाता था।
✅ नील दर्पण – यह दीनबंधु मित्र द्वारा 1860 में लिखित नाटक था, जिसमें नील की खेती करने वाले कृषकों की दयनीय दशा का वर्णन था। नील के रंग बनाने का उद्योग भारत में 18वीं सदी के अंत में शुरु किया गया था।

रसायन (औषध) को चिकित्सा विज्ञान में उनकी क्रिया के आधार पर वर्गीकृत किया जाता है –

1.विसंक्रामक (Disinfectants) – वे रसायन जो जीवाणुओं या सूक्ष्म-जीवों को शीघ्रता से नष्ट कर देते हैं, विसंक्रामक कलहलाते हैं। इनका प्रयोग उपकरणों, बर्तनों, फर्श, सेनेटरी फिटिंग आदि के विसंक्रमण में किया जाता है। यह जीवित ऊतकों के लिए हानिप्रद होते हैं तथा त्वचा पर प्रयुक्त नहीं किए जाते हैं। उदाहरण – फीनॉल, मेथिल फीनॉल, हाइड्रोजन परॉक्साइड, क्लोरीन, ब्लीचिंग पॉउडर, सल्फर डाइऑक्साइड आदि।
2.प्रशांतक (Tranquillizer) – वे रसायन जिनका प्रयोग मानसिक तनाव कम करने तथा अवसाद दूर करने में किया जाता है, प्रशांतक कहलाते हैं। ये औषध केन्द्रीय तंत्रिका तंत्र पर कार्य करते हैं तथा उन मरीजों को दिए जाते हैं जिनमें अतितनाव (Hypertension), अवसादित तथा हिंसक गुण होते हैं।
3.प्रतिजैविक (Antibiotics) – प्रतिजैविक वे रसायनिक पदार्थ होते हैं, जो जीवित कोशिकाओं से प्राप्त या निर्मित होते हैं तथा सूक्ष्म-जीवों की जीवन प्रक्रियाओं को बाधित करते हैं तथा उन्हें नष्ट कर देते हैं। प्रथम प्रतिजैविक पेनिसिलीन की खोज एलेक्जेण्डर फ्लेमिंग (Alexander Flemming) ने की थी।
4.सल्फा ड्रग्स (Sulpha Drugs) – औषधों का वह समूह जो कि सल्फैनिलामाइड से व्युत्पन्न होते हैं, सल्फा ड्रग्स कहलाते हैं।
5.सल्फाडाइजीन – यह सबसे अधिक प्रयोग की जाने वाली सल्फ ड्रग है। यह लगभग सभी प्रकार के कॉक्सस (Coccus) संक्रमणों में प्रभावकारी है। इसका प्रयोग पेचिस, मूत्र व श्वसन संक्रमणों के उपचार हेतु किया जाता है।

Some practices related to the Indian economy during the British era –

✅ Dadani system - Under Dadani I, British merchants used to give money to Indian laborers and craftsmen as an advance contract.
✅ Kamiyauti System - In this practice prevalent in Bihar and Orissa, the agricultural labourers from “kamiyan” caste used to work throughout life in exchange for the amount of interest given on the loan received from the agricultural slave owner of the caste.
✅ Teen Kathia System – This practice prevalent in Champaran (Bihar) region required the farmers to cultivate indigo on 3/20 of the land as per the contract of the British planters.
✅ Dubla Hali System - Under this practice prevalent in the western region of India, mainly in the Surat (Gujarat) region, lean Hali Bhudas considered their owners to be the custodians of their property and their own.
✅ Girmitiya system - In this practice started in the third decade of the 19th century, Indian workers had to work abroad for 5 or 7 years under an agreement. This settlement was called Girmit and this practice was called Girmitiya system.
✅ Neel Darpan – This was a play written by Dinabandhu Mitra in 1860, in which the pathetic condition of the farmers cultivating indigo was described. The industry of making indigo dyes was started in India in the late 18th century.

In medical science, drugs have been classified on the basis of their functions, which are as follows –

1.Disinfectants: Disinfectants are antimicrobial agents that are applied to the surface of non-living objects to destroy microorganisms that thrive on those objects. These are harmful to living tissues and cannot be applied on skin. Examples of disinfectants are phenol, methylphenol, chlorine, bleaching powder, formaldehyde etc.
2.Tranquillizer: A medicinal drug taken to reduce tension or anxiety is known as tranquillizer. It acts on the central nervous system and is used to calm, decrease anxiety or help a person to sleep.
3.Antibiotics: Antibiotics are such chemicals that inhibit the growth of microorganisms or destroy them. Antibiotics are obtained or formed from living cells. The first antibiotic penicillin was discovered by Alexander Flemming. Penicillin is considered to be the first miracle drug, used to treat throat infections, meningitis, syphilis and other bacterial infections.
4.Sulpha Drugs – The group of drugs that are derived from sulfonamide are called sulfa drugs.
5.Sulfadiazine – This is the most commonly used sulpha drug. It is effective against almost all types of Coccus infections. It is used for the treatment of dysentery, urinary and respiratory infections.

वांडीवाश का युद्ध (22 जनवरी, 1760 ई०)

✅ तीसरे कर्नाटक युद्ध का निर्णायक युद्ध 22 जनवरी, 1760 को तमिलनाडु के वांडिवाश (या वांडावासी) में अंग्रेज़ों द्वारा जीता गया था।
✅ अंग्रेज़ जनरल आयर कूट (General Eyre Coote) ने काउंट डी लाली (Count de Lally) के नेतृत्व वाली फ्राँसीसी सेना को बुरी तरह पराजित कर दिया एवं मार्क्विस डी बुसी (Marquis de Bussy) को बंदी बना लिया।
✅ पुद्दुचेरी, जिंजी (Gingee) और माहे पर अपना वर्चस्व खो देने के पश्चात् भारत में फ्राँसीसी शक्ति अपने निम्नतम स्तर पर पहुँच गई थी।

Battle of Vandiwash (January 22, 1760 AD)

✅ The decisive war of the Third Carnatic War was won by the British on 22 January 1760 at Vandivash (or Wandavasi), Tamil Nadu.
✅ The British General Eyre Coote badly defeated the French army led by Count de Lally and took the Marquis de Bussy.
✅ French power in India reached its lowest level after losing its dominance over Puducherry, Gingee and Mahe.

अम्बूर का युद्ध (1749 ई०)

✅ मुज़फ्फर जंग, चंदा साहिब एवं फ्राँसीसियों की संयुक्त सेना ने वर्ष 1749 में अंबूर के युद्ध (वेल्लोर के पास) में अनवर-उद-दीन को पराजित कर उसकी हत्या कर दी।
✅ डुप्लेक्स को कृष्णा नदी के दक्षिण में स्थित सभी मुगल क्षेत्रों का गवर्नर नियुक्त किया गया।
✅ रॉबर्ट क्लाइव ने त्रिचिनोपोली पर सैन्य दबाव को हटाने के लिये अर्कोट (कर्नाटक की राजधानी) पर अचानक छापामार आक्रमण का सुझाव दिया जिसमें अंग्रेज़ जीत गए।

✅The combined forces of Muzaffar Jung, Chanda Sahib and the French defeated Anwar-ud-Din in the Battle of Ambur (near Vellore) in 1749 and killed him.
✅Duplex was appointed as the governor of all the Mughal territories south of the Krishna River.
✅ Robert Clive proposed a Diversionary Attack on Madras Governor Saunders in which British won.
