Impeachment of the President
Article 61 provides the procedure for the impeachment of the President of India for violation of the Constitution.
The process can be initiated by either House of Parliament with a notice signed by at least one-fourth of its total members and a 14-day prior notice.
The resolution must then be passed by a two-thirds majority of the total membership of that House. The other House investigates the charges, and the President has the right to defend himself.
