Thirteenth Government Had "Positive Actions" But Also "Very Painful Events and Injustices"
The Imam of Friday Prayers in Zahedan added: “We also made significant sacrifices by supporting the current administration [Raisi's government]. Many in the Sunni community and the Iranian people opposed our decision to vote for him. However, we believed in giving the conservative faction a chance. We cast our ballots, and while his campaign team didn't promise a Sunni minister, they pledged to appoint Sunni governors, deputy ministers, and ambassadors. Unfortunately, not only did these things not happen, but during this administration, numerous Sunni mosques in various cities were closed and the deed of the central prayer hall of the Ahlus-Sunnah in Tehran was transferred to the names of others against the law, and prayers were even suspended there. We traveled to Tehran several times and contacted the President's Office, but we did not achieve any result. Following the Mahsa Amini incident, the 'Bloody Friday of Zahedan' occurred without any justification, causing immense pain. Additionally, during the Iranian people's protests, the way authorities handled protesters and detainees violated the law. These were all injustices inflicted upon the Iranian people during the current administration's term.”
He declared: "I am not saying that the Thirteenth Government [Raisi's administration] did not do anything positive; there were positive things as well. However, there were also very painful events that occurred during this government, and unfortunately, they did not make amends for them. We said, 'Condemn this incident [the Bloody Friday of Zahedan] and win the hearts of the people,' but they were unable to do even that. I wish the head of the Thirteenth Government were alive so that we could raise these grievances, but life did not give him the opportunity, and every human being passes away from this world when their time comes."
We Fear Future President Will Also Be Unable to Take Any Action
President Cannot Act Until Policies Changed
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan remarked, "I raise these points to illustrate the current situation we find ourselves in. Each presidential candidate makes pronouncements and offers promises, but the reality is that the president here does not have sufficient authority like in other countries, and the president's powers are restricted here. Of course, if the president were a powerful and capable manager, they could still accomplish some things and gain the people's satisfaction even within these limited powers. However, this hasn't happened as effectively as it should have in the past, and the country faces numerous problems today."
He emphasized: "We say that the president, whether a man or a woman, and from any ethnicity, religion, or orientation, should be a thoughtful mind and a capable manager, and also benefit from complete and extensive authorities. After all, the president of Iran is actually the leader of more than 85 million people and should be someone who shines in the world and delivers messages to the world. We would like it so that when our president delivers a speech at the United Nations General Assembly amongst the presidents of other countries, he carries a message for them, and this becomes a source of honor and pride for the country and the people."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid continued: "Our fear is that the future president will also not be able to do anything, and the current troubles and problems of the country and the people will still remain. What clear horizon can the new president show the people? Until the president is endowed with complete and sufficient authority, and until the policies are changed from above, the president cannot do anything. The people expect changes to take place in the country. If this does not happen, electing a president is a mere repetition."
Women Possess Significant Capabilities
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan remarked that a significant number of women possess remarkable capabilities. The Holy Quran recounts the story of Bilqis, the Queen of Sheba. As narrated in the Quran, Bilqis, through her exceptional abilities and competence, was able to deliver Yemen from a major crisis and immense suffering.
There are also contemporary examples of women who have demonstrably achieved success in the development and advancement of their nations. Notably, the former President of Singapore, a woman who observed religious attire and prayed regularly, was instrumental in transforming the country. She implemented policies that opened her nation's borders to all foreign companies and investors, while also declaring tax exemptions for those who invested in Singapore. These actions led to an increase in the value of the Singaporean dollar and the successful eradication of unemployment within the country. Muslims constitute approximately 15% of Singapore's population, and the nation's constitution guarantees equality for all, regardless of religious affiliation or gender.
He further elaborated, "There exists no explicit evidence or definitive ruling in the Book of Allah (Quran) or the authentic Sunnah (practices of the Prophet Muhammad) that prohibits women from assuming the roles of ruler or head of state. If anyone holds a contrary view, they should present their supporting arguments. The obstacles to women assuming these positions stem primarily from certain interpretations, societal norms, and traditional practices, not from any explicit injunctions in the Quran or Sunnah."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid emphasized, "If undue restrictions are lifted and women are given equal opportunities, many women can outperform and outdo many men in various roles. Of course, there are also many qualified men among us, but stringent conditions and filters, such as 'practical adherence to Islam' and 'practical adherence to the rule of law,' prevent these individuals from entering the arena. In contrast, anyone capable of building and developing the country, regardless of ethnicity or religion, should be allowed to participate. Once, the previous Zahedan City Council consulted me on selecting a mayor. I advised them that if no Muslim candidate met the necessary qualifications, they should appoint a Zoroastrian with the requisite competence to lead the city's development. This is because city development falls under the category of 'public rights.' The populace is not concerned with an individual's religious practices or beliefs; they desire someone who can build their city and nation. If you appoint the most prominent ayatollah, scholar, mufti, or Devotee of late-night prayers, but they lack the ability to manage and develop the country, you have, in essence, violated the rights of all citizens."
🔹"Respecting the Rights of People is Among the Greatest Acts of Worship"
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan further stated: "Respecting the rights of people, and looking after the weak, the orphaned, the unattended, and all the needy groups in society, is among the greatest acts of worship. Servitude to Allah the Exalted is accomplished not only through prayers, fasting, Hajj, remembrance, and supplication, but also by showing mercy to His servants and creations. Allah the Exalted will grant Paradise to a person for giving water to a thirsty dog, and He may send a person to Hell for oppressing a cat."
He further emphasized: "Those who inflict harm upon others, torture them, squander their inheritance and rights, and show no mercy towards Allah's servants - if they do not repent for their actions and seek to make amends - then Allah will not have mercy on them either, even if they perform night prayers or participate in the Hajj annually."
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan stated: "The one who exhibits greater compassion towards others, who shows mercy to humanity, maintains kinship ties, visits the sick, accompanies funerals, and extends kindness to nature and the environment for the sake of Allah's creation - such a person is more deserving of mercy and compassion. The one who engages in theft, robbery, extortion, and who is a murderer and an oppressor, is deeply despised by Allah the Exalted. Allah detests the arrogant, the vengeful, and the miserly. These sins are contrary to the purpose of human creation and go against the will of Allah."

🔹In the Past, We Have Not Seen Any Determination to Solve National and Religious Problems Whoever We Voted For
🔸If the Future President Cannot Solve the Problems, It Is Just a Repetition of the Past
Addressing the Sunni community's support for a conservative candidate in the previous election, The Friday Imam of Sunni Muslims of Zahedan, clarified: "In this administration as well, we did not cast our votes lightly. We declared that we would not cast a 'reward' vote for anyone. The then-governor of the province informed me that Shia brothers here vote for reward. We responded that we have problems and do not vote for reward; we pray and fast for reward. We cast our votes for someone who can solve our problems."
He added: "In the past, we have voted for candidates from both reformist and conservative factions, seeking their commitment to addressing discrimination, national, and religious issues. However, we have witnessed a lack of resolve and a realization that they were incapable of delivering on their promises. In the most recent election, the conservatives urged us to switch our allegiance and vote for them to see what they could achieve. They made commitments regarding national issues, which hold paramount importance for us. We prioritize addressing the concerns of the entire Iranian nation rather than focusing solely on local or religious matters. Despite these assurances, no tangible progress has been made, and we have not witnessed any success in addressing national interests, particularly in the realm of economy and livelihood. This is our perspective. We have gained nothing from these promises but the very problems we sought to resolve."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid asserted: "If the future president cannot resolve the nation's problems, it will be merely a repetition of the past. It is crucial for the president to possess the authority and capacity to implement meaningful changes that will garner public satisfaction. Regardless of who assumes the reins of power, the nation will remain discontent until the currency regains its value. If the Iranian Rial held its worth, we would not be witnessing protests by workers, teachers, and retirees today. A comprehensive review of domestic and foreign policies is imperative. The country's current trajectory will lead us down a perilous path. Numerous prominent experts have fled the nation. The priority lies in the well-being of the people and the nation. The country demands a president who will sever all ties between vested interests and national resources, ensuring that the nation reaps the full benefits of its assets. Without achieving these objectives, the president's tenure will be deemed unsuccessful."
🔹We Recommend that Political Prisoners Should Not Remain in Prison
🔸The Death Sentence of Mamousta Khedrnejad Should Be "Reviewed"
In the concluding remarks of his Friday prayer sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid expressed deep sorrow upon hearing the news of the confirmed death sentence for Mamousta Muhammad Khedrnejad, a prominent and righteous cleric from Kurdistan. He stated: "Grievous news has reached us that Mamousta Muhammad Khedrnejad, a distinguished and virtuous cleric from Kurdistan, has been sentenced to death. We are deeply saddened that a pious and righteous scholar faces the death penalty. We sincerely hope that this decision will be reconsidered. We and the people of Kurdistan have nothing but good things to say about this scholar."
Emphasizing the shared desire for the release of all imprisoned scholars, Mawlana Abdol Hamid urged: "It is the expectation of all people that the means be provided for the release of all imprisoned scholars. We benevolently and wholeheartedly recommend that political prisoners not remain incarcerated. They are beneficial to the country's well-being and progress."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid during Friday prayers in Zahedan:
🔹Are Presidential Candidates Aware of the Country's Current Situation?
During the Friday prayer of Sunni Muslims of Zahedan on June 7, 2024, coinciding with the registration period for the 14th presidential election, Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid posed questions about the authorities of the president and the responsibilities of candidates. He also urged on making the opportunity of the first ten days of the last Islamic month, Dhul-Hijjah in another part of his sermon.
The Friday Imam of Zahedan stated: "What have these esteemed individuals who have entered the arena thought about how they can improve the economy? Can they implement equality? If they cannot, they should think about this before being approved or disqualified."
According to the website of the Office of the Friday Imam of Sunni Muslims of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: "You see in the media that a large number of people have registered for the presidency. Are these esteemed individuals aware of the country's current situation? Do they have a plan to address these problems? Anyone who wants to accept a responsibility must consider how much they have thought about that responsibility."
Regarding the current state of the country, he stated: "The country is facing its greatest crisis, which is the financial and economic corruption crisis. In the history of Iran, we have never seen the Iranian people face such problems and their currency lose its value to such an extent, becoming one of the most worthless currencies in the world. With the vast resources at the disposal of the Iranian people, which the whole world needs and depends on, why should this be the case?! This country is one of the exceptional countries in the world. The currencies of all poor countries are more valuable than ours. The thirteenth government and previous governments have also failed to control inflation and have been unable to do anything. Despite promising to improve the livelihood and economy of the people during the election period, they have been unable to do anything. Bankruptcies and suicides have increased significantly in Iran. When poverty comes, it brings corruption with it. The source of a large part of corruption is poverty and lack of piety."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid:
🕌 A Just Settlement to the Palestinian Issue Will Ensure Global Security
Shaikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, in his Friday prayer sermon in Zahedan today (May 31, 2024), strongly condemned Israel's "massacre" and "ruthless slaughter" in the bombing of the Palestinian refugee camp in Rafah. He emphasized, "The world must put pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire, a just settlement, and the recognition of an independent Palestinian state."
🔹 Israel Committed the "Worst Crime" Against the Palestinian People in Rafah
According to the Zahedan Sunni Imam's Office website, Mawlana Abdol Hamid said, "Unfortunately, Israel bombed Rafah with bombs that burn and kill humans, committing the worst and most heinous crime against the Palestinian people. The whole world has protested against Israel's crimes."
He further added, "In this age of communications, the people of the world will not accept oppression, crime, murder, and slaughter from anyone. The world protests against anyone who commits injustice and disregards the rights and dignity of humans. Today, Israel is at the forefront of those who commit injustice in the world, and that is why the world has turned against Israel."
🔹Recognizing an Independent Palestinian State Is in Israel's Best Interest and Will Contribute to Global Security
The Zahedan Friday Prayers leader noted, "It is in Israel's best interest to stop the oppression, crime, and ruthless slaughter. Israeli extremists should not think that killing women and children and making people homeless is in Israel's best interest. This crime and slaughter not only do not benefit the Israelis but also lead to the destruction of the world and the hereafter and tarnish their reputation in the eyes of the world. The harm done to those who have been killed is far less than that done to those who have committed genocide, war crimes, and massacres."
He asserted, "We are thinking of the good of all. Israel's good lies in a ceasefire, a just peace, and the recognition of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital. I sincerely urge all people of the world to put pressure on Israel to agree to a ceasefire and a just settlement; this is in the best interests of the whole world and will have a significant impact on stopping the war in the Middle East, reducing global insecurity, and combating 'terrorism'."
🔹"Just Peace" on the Palestinian Issue Will Dry Up the Roots of "Global Terrorism"
Mawlana Abdol Hamid continued, "A just peace on the Palestinian issue will dry up the roots of global terrorism, because terrorism takes shape when an unarmed nation is oppressed and the oppressor does not give in to justice, dialogue, and the right to self-determination. Of course, terrorism is never justified and is condemned in all its forms from our point of view, but expert analyses show that oppression, crime, occupation, bullying, and refusal to submit to justice and dialogue are the biggest causes of the phenomenon of terrorism."
He emphasized, "Many experts believe that the most important factor in establishing security in the world is possible through resolving the Palestinian issue and recognizing an independent Palestinian state."
🔹Those Who "Oppress" the People Are at Risk of "Losing Their Faith"
In another part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, Friday Imam, Mawlana Abdol Hamid emphasized the "observance of the rights of the people" and called it the "second stage of Taqwa" (piety). He said: "Allah Almighty has commanded us to treat all human beings well. Bad behavior is contrary to Islam. If we want to live as Muslims, we must observe both the rights of Allah and the rights of the people." He said that Islam emphasizes the observance of the rights of the people, from the rights of parents and relatives to the rights of the poor and destitute, travelers, and others.
He also cited addressing the economic problems of the people as an example of "observing the rights of the people," saying: "The people are very much in trouble. Some cannot afford the cost of hospitalization and cannot discharge their patients from the hospital, and some are even not allowed to take the body of the deceased until they pay the hospital costs, and they cannot afford to pay these costs. The responsibility and duty of the society towards these people is very heavy and they must be helped. The orphan's property must be paid. The inheritance, which is the right of the heirs, should not be wasted, and the right of each person should be given to them. All of these are the rights of the people, and the rights of the people are very heavy."
He emphasized: "Let us not oppress anyone. Experience has shown that Allah Almighty punishes the oppressor and takes away his faith. Many who have robbed or taken bribes or oppressed the people, and many of those who have the authority and have the power to make decisions and invalidate people's documents or extract confessions from people and put them in prison, or those who try to fabricate cases against people in order to seize their property or endanger their lives and put people at risk of severe punishment, or commit wrongful murder, there is a serious risk that these people will leave this world without faith. Narrations and anecdotes indicate that the oppressors have had a very bad end."
🔹 No Judge or Ruler in the World Has "Absolute Authority"
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan said: "Anyone who has not committed murder and does not deserve to be executed, and is executed, this is considered 'wrongful murder'." He added: "It makes no difference whether this wrongful murder is committed by an official or a ruler or the people. The divine text is clear that the killing of any human being is not permissible unless he deserves to be killed."
He mentioned: "No judge or ruler in the world has absolute authority. The powers of a Muslim judge and ruler are within the framework of the Quran and Sharia. No one has the right to turn right into wrong or wrong into right."
🔹There Are Those Who Are Working to Addict the Useful People of Society
Continuing his speech, Mawlana Abdol Hamid emphasized the need to avoid the use of alcohol and drugs, saying: "Unfortunately, it is reported that the use of alcohol and drugs has increased in society, while Allah Almighty has explicitly and with very strong words forbidden alcohol. Therefore, alcohol and drugs, which harm the human mind, personality, will, and essence, are definitely forbidden."
He added: "Addiction has increased in society today. The use of synthetic and traditional drugs for any reason, including recreational purposes, is dangerous and illegal. Sometimes the hands of colonialism and imperialism and the hands of the enemies are at work, wanting to addict the educated, elders, scholars, and useful people of society. It is even reported that in some places drugs are distributed for free."
He stated: "The most important issue in the country is the economy and the people's livelihood. We do not know why the officials are not taking any steps to solve these problems. Are they incapable, and the situation is out of their control? Or are there other reasons?" The subsidy given to the people has no value, and the value of the national currency, according to a high-ranking official in the country, is equivalent to scrap paper. Everyone agrees that the national currency has no value. In such difficult and urgent circumstances, it is better to spend the country's assets and income on the people's livelihood."
🔹Spend the billion-dollar budget of the Seminaries to improve people's livelihood
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: "In the same budget for the year 1403 (2024-2025), tens of thousands of billions of tomans have been allocated to centers and seminaries. We charitably say spend these budgets on workers, teachers, retirees and the homeless."
He added: "The independence of clerics and seminaries is very vital, because they must order governments and society to do good and reform. When scholars and seminaries take money, they cannot speak and fulfill their duty, and this is a harm. Our sincere advice to clerics is to fulfill their primary duty to reform governments and not receive a rial from the government."
The Friday prayer leader of the Sunnis of Zahedan also referred to May 1st and the occasion of "Teacher's Day", and congratulated the teachers on this day, pointing to the fundamental, constructive and important role of the teacher, and said: "The voices of the teachers must be heard and their problems solved."
🔹Punish the criminals of torture and rape regardless of their rank and status
Sheikh al-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid expressed concern about the killing of some Mahsa protest activists and said: These incidents should be investigated impartially. Officials in power today must be impartial towards the people and security forces at all levels. They should act impartially and transparently. If someone has committed a crime, they should be punished regardless of their position or rank. If a human being has been killed, even if the killer is a minister, they must be punished. He further added: Rape and torture are prohibited in Islam and the laws of the country, and if someone has committed such crimes, he should be punished based on the same law that has given legitimacy to the government - regardless of the person's relationship and position.
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and his precious Companions, the Righteous Caliphs, and Ahl al-Bayt started justice from themselves, and stated: Any government in the world cannot claim to implement justice until it starts justice from itself.
🔹The awakened consciences worldwide demand an end to the war in Palestine
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan, representing the Sunni community, addressed the recent uprising of American university students in support of Gaza. He stated that the destruction of Gaza and the relentless bombings by Israel deeply trouble the awakened consciences globally. The student uprising in universities, composed of various religions, nations, and ethnicities around the world, seeks an end to decades of slaughter, devastation, and war in Palestine.
He added: "Our recommendation is also that the continuation of the war is detrimental to the world and even to the Israeli regime. There are also opposing groups within Israel who are against the continuation of the war. We advise Hamas not to delay the release of hostages and urge various countries to pressure Israel for a ceasefire so that the shadow of war is lifted from the people of Palestine as soon as possible."

Mawlana Abdol Hamid emphasized: If parents compel their children to disobey God and commit association with GOD (associating partners with God), then their obedience is not obligatory. A companion of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) believed in the Oneness of God, and his mother became angry with him and swore that she would not eat until she died and her son was disgraced unless he renounced Islam. The son said to his mother, "Even if you die not once but repeatedly, I will not abandon my faith and I will not associate anyone with God." When the mother realized that her son was determined and that she would lose her own life, she broke her oath. Therefore, no one should disobey God for the sake of anyone else; do not disobey the commands of God for the sake of parents, rulers, teachers, or mentors.
He further added: Luqman (peace be upon him) said to his son, "If a good or bad deed is as small as a mustard seed, and this seed is in the heavens or in the depths of the earth or within a rock, Allah will bring it forth on the Day of Judgment. 'Whoever does an particle's weight of good will see it, and whoever does an particle's weight of evil will see it' [Zalzalah: 7-8]." If someone does good as small as a mustard seed, they will see its reward and outcome on the Day of Judgment.
🔹"Prayer" is servitude to Allah Almighty and a manifestation of devotion to Him
The Friday Imam of Zahedan further stated: After faith, the reminder of the Hereafter, Judgment Day, and Scale of Deeds, Luqman (peace be upon him) advised his son to establish prayer. Prayer is the most important pillar and foundation of religion after confessing the word of faith. Parents should strive to correct the beliefs of their children and guide them on the right path of Unitarianism, belief in the hereafter, and establishing prayer. He added: Prayer is servitude to Allah Almighty, supplication and communion with God, and a manifestation of devotion to Him. Prayer is an expression of humility, helplessness, and submission to God. Prayer is important, establish it. Establishing prayer means taking a complete ablution and when you stand for prayer, try to focus your attention on the prayer. It is narrated in a hadith that when a person stands for prayer, Allah Almighty removes all the veils between Himself and His servant and directly pays attention to him. He continued: The devil reminds us of things that we do not remember outside of prayer. So fight the devil in prayer and turn your attention to Allah and stand before God with humility and with all your being. Pray on time and with commitment. If a prayer is missed, make it up. Try to pray in the mosque and in the row of worshipers. Allah Almighty loves prayer and loves it to be performed in the row of believers and in congregation.
🔹If there is no 'enjoining good and forbidding evil', society will not be reformed
The Friday Imam of Zahedan stated: Another point that Luqman (peace be upon him) considered important and emphasized was "enjoining good and forbidding evil" (amr bil-ma'ruf wa an-nahi an-al-munkar). Luqman said to his son, "O my son! Encourage people to do good and deter them from sin, transgression, and disobedience to God. And if someone is displeased with you or harms you in this path, be patient." He added: Patience in the face of adversity and hardships is one of the most important and great deeds. Belief in unitarianism, the Hereafter, and the prophethood, establishing prayer, calling to Allah, and reforming society are among the major pillars of religion. If prayer is neglected or if enjoining good and forbidding evil is not practiced, society will not be reformed.
🔹Sunni schools are on the path of moderation
The Friday Imam of Zahedan continued his speech by emphasizing "moderation" as the core principle of Sunni religious schools. He said, "Sunni schools are on the path of moderation. We believe in a moderate Islam, and our thoughts extend beyond religion and even Islam itself, encompassing humanity and the well-being of all people. We don't see ourselves or our religious centers as belonging to a single class."
He further clarified, "Our schools, scholars, and students are far from extremism and radicalism. They haven't associated with any extremist groups because our beliefs strongly contradict extremism and fanaticism. We believe in pursuing the path of truth and justice. Therefore, our schools cause no harm and don't preach against any other religion. The occasional criticisms we give are constructive and aim for goodwill. There's no animosity, hostility, or stubbornness behind these criticisms."
🔹What is happening today to the people of Gaza and Rafah is very painful
At the end of his speech, Mawlana Abdol Hamid also mentioned the plight of the people of Palestine and Gaza and said: The issue of Palestine and what is happening in Gaza and Rafah is very painful. These events are unbearable for anyone who has a sense of humanity.
He added: These days, there are protests in the world, especially in universities, against the bloodshed, oppression and displacement that is happening in Palestine. We hope that the Palestinian issue will be resolved in a fair manner.

Mawlana Abdol Hamid’s Address at the Opening Ceremony of Zahedan Darul Uloom’s New Academic Year:
🌏Sincerity is one of the most important and great pillars of religion and the source of strength in servitude
Sheikh al-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid today, Thursday (May 2, 2024 corresponding to 13 Ordibehesht 1403), in the opening session of the new academic year of Zahedan Darul Uloom, explained the first narration of Sahih al-Bukhari while emphasizing the importance of "sincerity" and the "virtue and necessity of acquiring knowledge." He also mentioned the difficulties and pressures faced by Sunni religious schools regarding the enrollment of immigrant students. He called upon the authorities to provide opportunities for immigrant students to enroll and study in Sunni religious schools.
According to the report published on the website of the Office of the Friday Imam of Ahl al-Sunnah in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated in this spiritual gathering: “Before anything else, we must express our gratitude and appreciation to the Almighty. It is also fitting to offer prayers and remember with kindness all those who have provided the opportunity for students to learn in schools.”
“In many religious schools,” he explained, “the academic year begins with the reading and recitation of the first hadith of Sahih Bukhari, with the intention of conveying the importance of hadiths. The message of this hadith is to make our intentions pure for the sake of Allah.”
He added, "In the world, knowledge is sought for various purposes, including fame, wealth, and positions of power. Some people acquire knowledge to obtain an easier job and more income, while knowledge should be acquired for the pleasure of Allah. If knowledge is sought for the pleasure of Allah, the person attains the glorious goal of Allah’s pleasure.”
The director of Zahedan Darul Uloom pointed out, “If knowledge, migration, Hajj, jihad, generosity, and any great deed are not for the sake of Allah and with divine motivation, not only are they wasted and ruined and bring no reward or recompense to the person, but they also become a cause of punishment on the Day of Judgment. Let us examine our hearts and intentions to see with what purpose and motivation we are acquiring knowledge. Students of religious sciences and scholars must rectify their intentions.”
🔹The Virtue of Sincerity
Emphasizing the importance of “sincerity,” he stated: “Sincerity is the spirit of religion and one of the most important and great pillars of religion and the source of strength in servitude. Sincerity and devotion to Allah are beneficial to man. Previous nations were commanded to worship only Allah. Knowledge, religion, and good deeds must be pure for the sake of Allah. A religion without sincerity is like a statue or a body without a soul.”
🔹The Universality of the Prophet’s Message
Referring to the status of the “Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them),” he noted: “The Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) were not infallible and committed sins, but the most important characteristic of the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) is that they did not persist in sin and whenever they committed a sin, they repented and made amends. Wherever in the Quran the errors and slips of the Companions of the Prophet (may Allah be pleased with them) are mentioned, God’s forgiveness is also mentioned.”
Mawlana Abdol Hamid described the mission of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as “universal,” stating: “The mission of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Quran, and religion are not only for believers, but the religion and messages of the Quran and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) are for all people of the world. Good deeds and sincerity have an impact and may lead to the guidance and repentance of man, and sin, murder, bloodshed, hypocrisy, and ostentation also have an impact and lead to misguidance.”
🔹There is a Limit to People's Tolerance
Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid addressed the increase in global pressures and sanctions against Iran and said: "The pressure of all sanctions is on the Iranian people, and there is a limit to the people's tolerance. Manage in a way that prevents these sanctions. Adjust your policies domestically and internationally in a way that no new sanctions are added. These are realities, and we are not insulting anyone. But the country does not have the capacity for more sanctions. It is necessary to prevent crises through sound policies, prudence, and planning in emergency conditions."
🔹Cease the executions
The Sunni Friday Prayer Leader of Zahedan also called the cessation of executions in the country as the demand of the Iranian nation and stated: "Executions in the country throughout the history of Islam and divine religions have been unprecedented, and the Iranian people demand their cessation. Tumaj Salehi is a poet and artist who should not be labeled a criminal for his words. He has neither been a highway robber nor committed murder deserving of execution. Officials must endure criticism. Do not kill people for their words. Judges and the judicial system must consider the conditions and desires of the people. Around the world, governments pay attention to the demands of their people."
He added: "You must heed the words of the people who brought the Islamic Republic and you into power. Wisdom dictates that you stand alongside the people and halt all executions. Executions carried out under the pretext of drugs find no place either in the Quran or in the Sunnah. Accusing people of being combatant and executing them is not true except in the case of retribution and where it is explicitly stated.
🔹The primary decision-maker is the Iranian nation
Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: "If officials want the country to prosper, they should heed the demands of the Iranian people, respect women, and manage affairs in a way that doesn't alienate the nation, as many of the people who supported officials are now dissatisfied. The cornerstone of any country and the primary decision-maker is the nation."
🔹Fair handling of the Zahedan Bloody Friday case is necessary
The Sunni Friday Prayer Leader of Zahedan commented on the Zahedan Bloody Friday case: "A senior judicial official transferred one of the provincial judicial officials during a visit to the province and stated that they will address this issue. What we all want is fair trial, and all those involved in the killing of innocent people in the Zahedan and Khash mosques should be prosecuted. We do not exceed our rights, but those who ordered the killings and the perpetrators must be brought to trial. More than three hundred people were injured and over a hundred killed, with many names going unrecorded. This has been a major tragedy, and it cannot be compensated for with a one billion toman blood money; fair trial and judgment are necessary. It is unjust to try a few and not try the many involved in this incident."
🔹We defend Iran's borders and territorial integrity
He continued: "We advocate for justice, but if officials listen to the demands of the Iranian people, we are willing to waive our rights. We suffer seeing retirees protesting for their rights. If you are responsive to the demands of the Iranian people, we are even willing to forgive the spilled blood. Iran is our home, and if necessary, we defend our borders, not allowing any foreigner to invade our land or jeopardize our territorial integrity. We, the Iranian people, are a united nation of all ethnicities and religions."
🔹Knowledge is the Source of Growth and Progress for Nations; Plan for the Religious and University Education of Your Children
In the final part of his speech, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid advised the general public to acquire knowledge and said: "Knowledge and education are the source of growth and progress for nations. My advice to all the people of Iran, especially the people of the province, is to pay attention to education. Families should not only engage their children in worldly affairs, but should also strive for them to pursue knowledge and education."
He added: "During the summer holidays when students are on vacation, hold remedial classes for your children so that they can succeed in the entrance exams. Let the holidays be a time of reinforcement. You should also plan for your children to learn the Quran during these holidays. The best family is the one that pays attention to the education and knowledge of its children. After faith, there is no better and greater capital than children."

🔹 "Preserving the Honor of Women is Respecting the Whole Society"
The Zahedan Friday Imam added: "The honor of women must be preserved. These women are the honor of the people. Preserving the honor of women is respecting the whole society. Why do men arrest, detain, or interrogate women? If these actions are in accordance with sharia law and we are wrong, convince us. What has happened to women in detention centers? There are good men among men, but not all men are good, and some of them commit great offenses."
He stated: "These matters must be thought about. If there is no prudence and wisdom, there will be problems. Islam is a religion of wisdom, prudence, consultation, and sound thinking. Observe wisdom so that the enemies do not take advantage and laugh at us. We must act in a way that does not make people even more averse to religion."
🔹 "The Country's Economic Situation is 'Very Critical'"
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid also referred to the country's economic problems, saying: "One of the most important current problems in the country is economic problems. The economic situation is very critical."
He mentioned: "Economic problems cannot be solved by economic managers alone; the economy is intertwined with domestic and foreign policies and interactions."
The Zahedan Friday Imam added: "Unfortunately, national interests, which belong to the whole nation, have been left to their own devices, and there is nothing the officials can do. Solving these problems requires consultation. Officials should sit down with experts and consult. The country's system is a 'republican' and 'Islamic' system, both of which emphasize consultation and people's opinion."
He said: "Islam, especially our interpretation of Islam, has a lot in common with democracy. If you look at the events of early Islam and the life of Imam Ali, you see that everything is based on choice, consultation, and listening to the people."
🔹During the recent rains, the waters were not properly managed and maintained
In another part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid referred to the recent rains in the province of Sistan-Balochistan and said: "Thank God, there were good rains in the province this week. Although there was some flooding, it was not as severe as the previous rains and affected other parts of the southern regions of the province."
He added: "In this rainfall, in areas such as Zarabad and Dashtyari, there was no damage because the dams were partially emptied before the rain. However, in areas such as Kaher and Konarak, where the dams were not emptied, there was damage. Unfortunately, some officials do not have the power of management and did not heed the advice to empty the dams. In our opinion, these types of officials should be held accountable. Any official who harms the people by neglecting their duties should be held accountable."
He said: "Unfortunately, in this rainfall, the rainwater was not controlled and flowed into the sea or out of the country. If this water had been managed and stored, it would have been enough for years. Storing water does not require a lot of money, but rather requires sound planning. Of course, we are not saying that the water rights of the people on the other side of the border should not be given, but it should be managed in a way that both we and our neighbors get our rightful share."
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid at Zahedan Friday Prayer:
🕌 The Middle East is the Lifeline of the World and Must Be Kept Away from Tension and Conflict
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, in his Friday sermon in Zahedan today (April 19th, 2024), described the Middle East as the "lifeline of the world, especially in the spheres of trade and energy," and warned of the consequences of any war, conflict, or tension in the region.
🔹 The World Should Help End Tensions
According to the website of the Zahedan Sunni Friday Imam's Office, referring to recent events and tensions between Iran and Israel, he said: "The fact is that Iran has shown great restraint in this matter. Iranian commanders were targeted in Syria and Lebanon, and Iranian officials showed restraint to prevent war. The latest incident that prompted a response from the Iranian government and military was the attack on the Iranian consulate in Syria, in which several senior commanders were killed."
He added: "Consulates are considered important diplomatic centers for each country. Of course, there is a difference of opinion about whether a country's consulate is considered part of its territory, but the whole world agrees that consulates are representations of countries and are respected by each country and should not be attacked. In any case, Iran responded to Israel's attack on its consulate in Syria and announced that this response was deterrent and was aimed at preventing Israel from carrying out such attacks again."
The Zahedan Friday Imam said: "The Middle East is a very special and unique region that is different from many other parts of the world. The Middle East is the lifeline of the world and one of the most important centers of the world, especially in the spheres of trade and energy. All countries, without exception, have interests in the Middle East. If the Middle East is engulfed in the flames of war, the whole world will suffer in various spheres. Therefore, the Middle East must be kept away from tension and conflict."
He emphasized: "If Israel responds to Iran's attacks, it has made a mistake. Our belief is that how long will war and conflict continue?! The whole world must unite and help end tensions and conflicts."
"The Palestinian Issue" is the Main Source of Disagreements and Tensions; All Countries Should Focus on Resolving This Issue
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: "The main source of disagreements and tensions is the Palestinian issue. Otherwise, Iran, Israel, and other countries have no disagreements with each other, and all conflicts revolve around the Palestinian issue, which Israelis and Palestinians have not been able to resolve despite decades of conflict. In the latest incident, the Gaza War, more than 35,000 people have been killed on both sides, with most of the casualties being Palestinians, and lives have been destroyed."
The Zahedan Friday Imam said: "Everyone should focus on resolving the Palestinian issue. Iran's help in this regard is influential. Israel must also cooperate. Europe, America, and all countries that have interests in the Palestinian issue must cooperate to resolve this dispute. If there is no stubbornness and obstinacy in the Palestinian issue, it can be resolved. The occupied territories must be returned to the Palestinians and an independent Palestinian state must be established, as has been approved by the United Nations."
He added: "Resolving the Palestinian issue is in the interests of the whole world, the Palestinians, and Israel. Neither side can destroy the other, and it is not in the interests of either. Therefore, everyone should pursue a just settlement in a way that does not violate the rights of anyone. If the Palestinian issue were left to the people, it would be easy to resolve, but politicians and the powerful have taken the matter into their own hands."
Exclusion of Sunni Muslims from the Presidency in the "Islamic Republic System" is Unjustified
Continuing his remarks, the Friday prayer leader of Zahedan pointed to the prohibition on Sunni Muslims registering as presidential candidates as another form of discrimination enshrined in Article 115 of the Constitution. He stated, "There are competent and qualified individuals within the Sunni community, but they cannot register due to the constitutional requirement of adhering to the 'official religion of the country.'" He questioned the rationale behind this law, asserting that it contradicts the Quran, the Sunnah, Islamic Sharia, and international law. He emphasized, "You are depriving over twenty million Sunni Muslims in the country, who have always been present in all spheres, of their rights simply because they are 'Sunni'! You claim that the country's system is an 'Islamic Republic'; what connection does this law have to an Islamic Republic system? The Constitution is not divine revelation; it contains flaws and errors, and many of its provisions do not conform to Islamic Sharia."
He mentioned that women have registered as presidential candidates but have been denied the opportunity to participate. He further noted that during the current electoral cycle, a qualified and prominent Sunni figure, Dr. Jalalizadeh, intended to register as a presidential candidate but was reportedly prevented from doing so.
"In the past, We Have Raised the Issues With Presidents and the Highest-Ranking Officials in the Country, But We Have Seen No Results."
Continuing his address, Mawlana Abdol Hamid remarked, "There's a well-known proverb: 'Prick yourself with a needle before pricking others with a pin.'(Physician, heal thyself!)". He questioned, "You ask me not to speak about these matters. Where and to whom am I supposed to address them? We have spoken to presidents and even written letters to the highest authority and figure in the country, but we have seen no results. Therefore, we have no other choice but to raise these constructive and beneficial criticisms here."
He added: "On one occasion, a group of esteemed individuals met with one of the presidents who had six months remaining in his first term. He wanted to gain the support of the people of this region. These esteemed individuals said, 'You who want to gain the support of these people, choose a minister from among the Sunni Muslims for these remaining six months. Even if you are not re-elected as president, a positive action will remain in the minds of the people. And if you are re-elected, then appoint a minister or governor from among the Sunni Muslims, which also has no legal restrictions.' He [the president] said, 'I cannot appoint a minister or governor from among the Sunni Muslims because this is not in my hands, and the decision is made elsewhere.'"
Continuing his remarks, Mawlana Abdol Hamid narrated an interaction with another president. He stated, "We also approached another president, someone we had even supported, during the cabinet formation process. We requested him to appoint a Sunni minister. He responded that the parliament would not approve such an appointment. We urged him to proceed with the appointment regardless of parliamentary approval, but he lacked the courage to do so. We then suggested appointing a Sunni vice president, but again, he either declined or lacked the courage to take such a step."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid:
🕌The prohibition on Women and Sunni Muslims Registering for Presidency Contradicts Islamic Sharia and International Law
Shaikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated today (June 14, 2024) during the Friday prayers of the Sunni community in Zahedan: "The prohibition on registration and candidacy for the position of President of the Republic, as stipulated in Article 115 of the Constitution, for women and Sunni Muslims, contradicts both Islamic Sharia and international regulations."
Misinterpreting “Political Figures” as “Men in Politics” is Erroneous
According to the website of the Zahedan Sunni Friday Imam's Office, Shaikh ul Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated during the Zahedan Friday prayers that Article 115 of the Constitution deals with the election of the president. This article stipulates that the president must be among the "religious and political figures" and "adhere to the official religion of the country." Another article of the Constitution declares "Twelver Shia" as the official religion of the country. Based on Article 115 of the Constitution, three groups have been deprived throughout these 45 years: "women," "Sunni Muslims," and "competent and capable individuals who do not belong to a specific religious or political spectrum."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid further explained that during these 45 years, women who have registered to run for president have not been approved because the Constitution states that the president must be a “political figure”, and women are considered political figures, not “men”. The 14th presidential election is about to be held, and not once have women been given the opportunity.
He emphasized that if one examines the world's norms, “political figures” does not mean “men in politics”; instead, it refers to those who have the qualifications, abilities, and skills in the political arena. Interpreting “political figures” as “men in politics” is a misinterpretation. If the experts' intention behind the term “political figures” was men, why did they not consider the rights of women?!
🔹Let's Make the Most of the Opportunities of the First Ten Days of Dhul Hijjah
In the first part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan (June 7, 2024), Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid emphasized the importance of "making the most of the opportunities of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah" to strengthen one's devotion and servitude to Allah.
According to the website of the Office of the Friday Imam of Zahedan, Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, after reciting the opening verses of the blessed Surah Al-Fajr, stated: "Allah, the Exalted, has granted humanity exceptional opportunities to rectify their shortcomings and spiritual deficiencies. He has designated specific times for increased devotion and spiritual reflection, such as the blessed month of Ramadan, the last ten days of Ramadan, Laylatul Qadr, and Eid nights. The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, known as 'Layalul Ashr,' which Allah swears by in the Quran, is another of these exceptional periods and special times."
The Friday Imam of Sunni Muslims of Zahedan announced: "Since the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah was not sighted yesterday evening (Thursday), tonight (Friday evening) will be the first night of the month of Dhul Hijjah. It is befitting for all of us to seize this opportunity and seek forgiveness for our past mistakes. Allah has placed great value on these days and expects people to increase their devotion and acts of worship during this time."
🔹"Sacrifice, Fasting, and Helping the Needy Hold Particular Virtues during These Days"
Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: "Worship, fasting, sacrifice, and helping the needy hold particular virtues during these days. Fasting each day of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah is equivalent to fasting a whole year, and fasting on the Day of Arafah is rewarded as fasting two years. Good deeds performed during these days are considered the best of all deeds, even surpassing jihad in the path of Allah."
He mentioned: "One of the best worships during these days is the sacrifice performed on Eid al-Adha. This is an exceptional and unique practice following the tradition of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) and Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). The act of sacrifice is specifically prescribed for the Eid days and is performed on the Eid and the two days following it. Let us all make use of this exceptional opportunity."
The director of Darululoom Zahedan added: "Fasting on the Day of Arafah is another recommended act of worship during this time. Everyone should strive to fast the first nine days of Dhul Hijjah, and if unable to do so, at least fast on the Day of Arafah. These days should be filled with acts of worship, seeking forgiveness, and repentance. Fasting on Arafah is specifically recommended for those who are not going for Hajj. Of course, it is better for the pilgrims not to fast on this day and to focus on supplications and the specific rituals of Hajj."
🔹Worship of Allah: The Ultimate Purpose of Human Creation
Continuing his speech, Mawlana Abdol Hamid identified "worship of Allah" as the main goal and philosophy behind human creation. He said: "Allah, the Exalted, has created humanity for a grand purpose and has provided for all their needs in this world so that humans can fulfill those goals with ease and a clear mind. All creatures have been created to benefit humanity, and humans have been created for the worship of Allah. This purpose, which is servitude to Allah, recognizing His unique essence, and obeying His divine commands, is a very sacred and great purpose."
He further elaborated: "Faith and correct belief in Allah, love for the Lord, acknowledging the various blessings of Allah, and exclusive devotion to Him are the highest forms of worship. Worship is when a person obeys Allah with their heart and limbs, shows compassion to Allah's creation, remembers Allah with kindness, love, and respect, and performs the prayers, fasting, zakat, Hajj, and other acts of worship that the religion has guided us towards."
🔹The President Does Not Have Sufficient Authority to Ensure Freedom and Justice
Addressing the expectations of the Iranian people, the Friday Imam of Sunni Muslims of Zahedan stated: "Does someone aspiring to become the president have a plan and the ability to deliver on it? Or will they make promises, like their predecessors, and fail to act? The Iranian people are aggrieved by discrimination. Can someone seeking such a weighty responsibility eliminate discrimination from their lives? Have they been granted the authority to make a difference?"
He stated: "The future president must understand the aspirations of the Iranian people. They are not beholden to any external power, and their protests have stemmed from genuine grievances, not defiance. They yearn for freedom. Has the prospective president considered how much freedom they can provide, how they can uphold justice, and how they can eliminate discrimination between men and women, as well as ethnic and religious disparities? Can this president prioritize meritocracy and appoint qualified individuals from within and outside the country, from diverse ethnicities and faiths, and from both genders, based on their merits? We have witnessed a severe lack of meritocracy in Iran, and an incompetent group has been in power."
He added: "If I were in their shoes, I would never step forward and accept the position. Firstly, it is not my vocation. I am a religious scholar. My calling is teaching, not the presidency. But even if I possessed all the necessary qualifications, I would not accept the position under circumstances where I could not fulfill my commitments, even if the entire world were offered to me. What have these esteemed individuals who have entered the arena thought about how to improve the economy? Can they implement equality? If they cannot, they should think about it before they are approved or disqualified."
🔹Public Disillusionment with Elections: A Call for Effective Leadership
🔸The People Believe that Nothing Can Be Done by Those Who Have Registered
Addressing the public's waning trust in the electoral process, Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: "Unfortunately, the people have lost hope and believe that none of those who have registered can make a difference, as their predecessors have failed to deliver. In previous administrations, we voted for reformists, and while we do not claim they did nothing, they were unable to eliminate discrimination between men and women, or among ethnicities and religions. They were unable to implement the promises they made during their campaigns. They failed to utilize competent individuals. These matters are controlled from elsewhere, and the president is powerless."
He continued: "I remember that in the 12th government, I went to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and said: 'You have 180 embassies and consulates in the world; appoint 10 ambassadors from Sunni Muslims and let the other 170 ambassadors be the same Shiites you have appointed.' He said: 'We consulted with the president and we will appoint five ambassadors. Give us a list.' We gave a list, but the Minister of Foreign Affairs said that we do not have all the authority and we are one side of the issue, if the other parties approve this list, we can, otherwise we cannot do anything.' We appealed for at least five appointments, but ultimately, only one existing Sunni ambassador was retained, and another was appointed, who was later removed."
🔹Thanks to Everyone Who Prayed for My Recovery and Worked Hard in This Regard
In another part of his Friday prayer sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid, referring to his medical trip, said, "I had a medical trip. Thank God, the illness was diagnosed and treated well, and thank God, I am feeling better now. I believe and am confident that more than medicine and mundane causes, the prayers of the dear people, both men and women, and different segments of society, have had a great impact on my recovery. I thank all the dear people who prayed for me and also all those who cooperated and followed up and worked hard in this trip."
He continued, "Let's pray that God Almighty does not let us fall into the love of the world and that our lives are spent on the right and correct path and in the way of the interests of the world and the hereafter of the people, and that He grant us all steadfastness on the path of truth and moderation."
🔹The Late Pir Mohammad Melazehi Was a "Benevolent Man" and a "Fair Analyst"
At the end of his Friday prayer sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid referred to the death of the late Pir Mohammad Mollazehi, a prominent Sunni scholar from Balochistan, and said, "Mr. Pir Mohammad Mollazehi was a prominent writer and analyst. He was a benevolent man and always offered fair and just analyses. May God Almighty forgive him and grant him high ranks."

🔹"Suspicious Murders" are On the Rise in the City
🔸Officials should "Investigate" Bilal Nasrouee's murder and "clarify" it
In the closing remarks of his Friday prayer sermon in Zahedan, Friday Imam Mawlana Abdol Hamid referred to the murder of "Bilal Nasrouee," a young Baloch artist who was killed in Zahedan a few days ago. Expressing his condolences and praying for his forgiveness and elevation, he said: "The martyrdom of a young man named Bilal Nasrouee in the city of Zahedan has caused some concern. My recommendation to the officials is to investigate and clarify this matter."
He mentioned: "One of the biggest problems in such cases arises when the murderer is not arrested. The greatest grief and sorrow of the heirs of the deceased after losing their loved one is that the murderer is not identified. Therefore, we hope that the murderer of Mr. Bilal Nasrouee, whoever he may be, will be arrested and brought to justice. People should also share any information they have in this regard with the relevant officials."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: "Unfortunately, suspicious murders are on the rise in the city. It is recommended to all people to oppose these murders and hand over the perpetrators to the judicial authorities for punishment to prevent further such incidents."

Mawlana Abdol Hamid:
🕌The International Community and Jews all over the world should Stop the Extremism of Israel
Zahedan, Iran - May 10, 2024, in his Friday sermon today, Sheikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, the Sunni Muslim spiritual leader of Iran's Baluchistan province condemned the Israeli atrocities in Gaza, stating that they have become unbearable for the conscious minds and enlightened people of the world. He called upon the international community and Jews around the world to take action against the extremism of Israeli officials.
🔹 The Awakened Consciences of the World Cannot Tolerate Israel's Crimes in Gaza
According to the information provided by the Office of the Friday Prayer Leader in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: "In recent days, in Gaza and the occupied lands of Palestine, incidents have occurred that have shaken the world and compelled awakened consciences to react and protest. The atrocities in Gaza are not only intolerable for Muslims but for all people worldwide. Today, a movement known as awakened consciences is emerging globally. Students and young generations in American universities have raised their voices in protest."
"These protests carry a message for the world, especially for Israel and its supporters," he added. "Most of Israel's supporters have indeed backtracked from their positions and have become disgusted and resentful of the extremism of the Israeli government and army. Many Jews, even in Tel Aviv itself, are upset and concerned about Israel's extremism and are protesting. The United Nations and even Israel's supporters have warned against Israel's recent attack on Rafah, but Israel has carried out the attack despite all this opposition."
🔹 Israeli Leaders are afflicted with "Mental Retardation"
🔸 The Solution to the Palestinian Problem is Not "War"; it is "Fair Dialogue"
"The Israeli officials think they can solve the issue militarily, which shows the mental retardation of the Israeli leaders and officials," said the Zahedan Imam. "You have been occupying the Palestinian land and killing and displacing the Palestinian people for more than 70 years, but you have not been able to solve this problem, and now you want to solve it with war! It is clear that your mind is not working and your analysis of the situation and issues is wrong. Unfortunately, some rulers of the world who are afflicted with mental retardation have plunged the world into problems."
"The only solution to the Palestinian problem and the establishment of security is negotiation and fair dialogue," he asserted. "The war must stop. The continuation of the war will further isolate and discredit Israel in the world and blacken Israel's history. A few days ago, a memorial ceremony for the victims of the 'Holocaust' was held by Jews; an event in which Hitler committed a historical injustice against the Jews. You who know how heavy the suffering of such events is, why are you committing another Holocaust in Gaza and Palestine yourselves?! You have destroyed the city of Gaza and massacred innocent people, and today Palestinian women and children are crying out, where to go!"
"Humanity is important to us," he said. "If the people of Gaza were Jews and a Muslim government was inflicting such injustice on them, we might even take a more extreme position. It makes no difference to us whether the oppressor or the oppressed is Muslim or non-Muslim; injustice and the oppressor must be opposed and the oppressed must be supported."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid emphasized: "It is in the best interests of Israel and all Jews around the world to persuade the extremists to withdraw their forces from the Palestinian territories and resolve the issues through dialogue and negotiation”.
🔹Those who take hostages for extortion are far from religion and humanity
Mawlana Abdol Hamid further condemned "hostage-taking" and said: Unfortunately, sin, negligence, theft, and hostage-taking have increased today. Some people take hostage those who have dignity and honor and do halal business for extortion. This phenomenon is one of the worst and ugliest phenomena. Hostage-taking and destroying people's dignity is illegal and haram even if it is for debt and receivables because there are other ways to get the receivables.
He clarified: Those who take hostages, especially for the purpose of extortion, are people who are unaware of God and are far from religion and humanity. This is a great injustice, and if these injustices are not stopped, there is a danger of divine wrath. Everyone's duty is heavy; elders, clerics, university professors, cultural figures, women, and all walks of life should do their duty as much as they can and stop these atrocities.
🔹The government should allow Sunnis to pray freely
During the Friday prayers on May 3, 2024, Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the prominent Sunni religious leader, expressed strong criticism of the Iranian government's inconsistent and contradictory policies regarding prayer practices. He vehemently called upon the authorities to grant Sunnis the right to perform their prayers freely without any restrictions.
According to a report by the website of the Office of the Friday Prayer Leader of the Sunnis of Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, referring to the approved budget for prayer and the contradictory and inconsistent policies in this regard, said: Many Sunnis in large cities have difficulty and are in a bind for performing prayers, and many prayer halls have been closed. Preventing people from prayer is an anti-Islamic act. In many cities, there is not enough space for Sunni mosques in proportion to the population and per capita, and permits for building mosques have not been granted.
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid said: It is astonishing that in a country known as the Islamic Republic, people are prevented from praying! This issue is disturbing.
He continued: The government should spend the prayer budget elsewhere and just allow Sunnis in minority cities to have mosques and prayer halls proportionate to their population and to pray freely. Preventing prayer is against Islam and the constitution. Religious extremists are creating problems, and they need to be stopped.
🔹The responsible authorities must fulfill their duty to deal with the hostage-takers
The Friday prayer leader of the Sunnis of Zahedan has emphasized the responsibility of all members of society and the government to confront insecurity and hostage-taking, saying: "The government's responsibility is very heavy. It is the responsibility of the officials to establish the security of individuals and society."
He said: "It is a question that how in a city that is relatively militarized and where there are agents on all axes and they control everyone, people are taken hostage and no action is taken and it is not clear who is doing these things."
Shaikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid added: "If the law enforcement, security and judicial authorities fulfill their responsibilities and identify and arrest these people and it is made clear who the perpetrators of the hostage-takings are, the security of the people will be guaranteed." He also advised the families of the victims of hostage-taking not to pay ransom to the hostage-takers in order to prevent the increase of hostage-taking in society.
🔹Officials have also admitted that the national currency has no value
The Friday prayer leader of the Sunnis of Zahedan congratulated the workers on the occasion of International Workers' Day and said: "Workers play a fundamental and influential role everywhere in the world."
Mawlana Abdol Hamid during Friday prayer in Zahedan:
🕌"Wisdom" is one of the greatest blessings
During the first part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan (May 3rd , 2024), Sheikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid referred to "wisdom" as one of the greatest blessings. He stated that someone who receives the blessing of wisdom can distinguish truth from falsehood and right from wrong.
According to the website of the Office of the Friday Imam of Zahedan, Sheikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid, after reciting the verse "And indeed We granted Luqman wisdom, that he should be grateful to Allah. And whoever is grateful is grateful only for his own soul. And whoever is ungrateful, then indeed Allah is Rich (Independent) and Praiseworthy" [Luqman: 12], stated:
"Wisdom is one of the greatest blessings. We should thank Allah Almighty for all His blessings, both material and spiritual, especially the great blessing of 'wisdom'. Wisdom is defined as practical knowledge and the ability to distinguish between right and wrong. There are many people who have knowledge, but they may not be righteous or pious, or they may not have the ability to distinguish between right and wrong; they are not wise. Acting upon knowledge is itself wisdom and cognition. If a scholar does not act upon his knowledge, he is a scholar without cognition or wisdom. When a person has wisdom, he uses his knowledge, and others also benefit from his knowledge and wisdom."
He further stated: "Allah Almighty had bestowed upon Prophet Luqman practical knowledge, the ability to distinguish between right and wrong, and wisdom. Allah Almighty had given Prophet Luqman many blessings, but He considered wisdom to be the greatest and instructed him to thank Allah for this blessing. Wisdom is superior to kingship, power, position, status, wealth, possessions, and material blessings."
🔹Unitarianism is the foundation of faith
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan added: "Prophet Luqman, the wise, considered the most important right of Allah to be Unitarianism and the oneness of God. He advised his son, saying, 'O my son! Give thanks to Allah and do not associate anyone with Him.' Allah Almighty says: 'Indeed, your Lord is one God' [Al-Kahf: 110]. Indeed, your God is one and only God. Whoever desires to meet Allah should not associate anyone with Him. Unitarianism is the root and foundation of faith and the greatest blessing of Allah Almighty. Shirk (Association with GOD) is the greatest injustice and a great sin and is not forgivable either; 'Allah does not forgive that partners are associated with Him, but He forgives whoever He wills other than that' [An-Nisaa: 116]. Allah Almighty does not forgive anyone who associates with Him."
Continuing his sermon, Sheikh ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid stated: "After the right of Allah Almighty, comes the right of parents. Allah Almighty has commanded us to be kind and do good to our parents. Whatever a child has, he has it from his parents. The mother carries the child in her womb and faces weakness, pressures, and hardships during the pregnancy period. All the time, she worries about her child, lest he be harmed. After childbirth, raising a child is also very difficult. There is insomnia and anxiety; the child gets sick, and the mother is troubled by him. Therefore, I emphasize to the children that you should not be indifferent to your parents."
🔹The Need for Both Religious and Secular Knowledge
Continuing, the director of Zahedan Darul Uloom emphasized the need for both religious and secular education, stating: “Acquiring knowledge is one of the greatest acts of worship. Knowledge is one of the great blessings of the Lord and a source of enlightenment in the world. Religious knowledge and modern knowledge are both beneficial to humanity. Knowledge leads man to the closeness of Allah and the exalted station. When migration, knowledge, jihad, and good deeds are done in obedience to Allah and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), they are a ‘great triumph.’”
He continued, "Man must be built, and to build man, religious knowledge is needed. Man needs both religious knowledge and modern and secular knowledge to build his world and his hereafter. We must build the world of others. When we seek knowledge to build the world of God's creation, God will build our world and the hereafter. Without knowledge, man faces absolute failure; He can neither build the world nor the hereafter. So study science to act on it, benefit people and bring God's religion to the world.
🔹The presence of immigrant students was a blessing for the country; They ought to be supported
In another part of his speech, Sheikh al-Islam Mawlana Abdol Hamid addressed the challenges and obstacles faced by immigrant students in enrolling in Sunni religious schools. He criticized the restrictions imposed on their registration and urged provincial and national officials to resolve the issue.
Mawlana Abdol Hamid expressed concern about the absence of many immigrant students, particularly Afghan students, who had previously studied for years in Sunni religious schools in Sistan-Baluchistan and other parts of the country. He noted that a significant number of these students were expelled from religious schools last year.
He emphasized that preventing individuals from pursuing knowledge is a grave mistake, as it contradicts the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) teachings to honor and respect those who come to you to learn knowledge. He highlighted the positive impact of students and scholars traveling for education, stating that their presence brings blessings and averts calamities. He asserted that it is in the best interest of all countries, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran, to cooperate with and address the challenges faced by immigrant students and scholars.
Mawlana Abdol Hamid pointed out that welcoming students and scholars from other countries is a common practice worldwide, and efforts are made to attract them. He expressed disappointment that immigrant students, who were previously tolerated, are now facing restrictions. He emphasized that the presence of these students has been a source of blessing for the country. He said: Although there is criticism on the deportation of immigrant students, we still hope and believe that this door of goodness and mercy should not be blocked.
🔹Discriminations bother us
Mawlana Abdol Hamid also raised concerns about discrimination within the country, stating that: "The discrimination that exists in the country bothers us. The law should be applied equally to everyone. When foreign students, both Shia and Sunni, are allowed to study in Shia seminaries, including Jamia al-Mustafa, why are foreign Sunni students not allowed to study in Sunni religious schools?! We are all Iranians and share Islamic and national brotherhood, there should be justice and equality." He emphasized, "We hope the issue of immigrant students in Sunni religious schools will be reconsidered. Provincial and national officials should pay attention to this and resolve it so the blessed chain of acquiring knowledge and science between our country and neighboring countries will not be broken."
🔹Do not alienate the people from the armed forces
Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid concluded: "We believe in hijab, but we also believe that our armed forces should not be used to confront women and protests. Our armed forces should protect territorial integrity, security, and national borders, not alienate the people. People should consider the armed forces and the judiciary as their supporters. Protests exist worldwide, and the solution lies in dialogue and attention to the demands of protesters. Nowhere in the world are protesters treated this way."

Mawlana Abdol-Hamid at Zahedan Friday Prayer:
🕌Why women are not in their real social status?
In the Friday sermons of today (April 26, 2024), Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, the Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan, addressed the issue of discrimination against women, stating: "Women feel that they do not have a rightful place. I have been shouting for years that you should recognize women and give them the status they deserve.
He added: "Women's scores in universities are higher than men's today, and there are more women in universities than men. Why should women who have shown their competence and ability in scientific fields be pushed back and not given their rightful social status? Why should women not participate in senior and middle management and decision-making centers of the country? Even in the two Quran competitions of Darul Uloom Zahedan, women won the competitions. Some women are more intelligent and hardworking than some men."
The Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan said: "It is not Islamic that women and Sunnis cannot be president. These laws are anti-Islamic because they are against justice. Women and Sunnis are Iranians. By what authority and based on which verse of the Quran is this done? Unfortunately, contrary to the existential philosophy of the Islamic Republic, which was supposed to be the executor of justice and the ruler of the religion of Muhammad and the method of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the righteous Caliphs, discrimination was institutionalized in the Constitution from the very beginning."
🔹Deal with the cause rather than the effect
Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid declared the issue of hijab to be a result of protests against national problems, the chaotic economic situation, and discrimination, and said: "These factors have caused women to resort to civil disobedience. Unfortunately, in our country and many other countries, they do not fight the root cause but the effects. In all international laws and rules, the basis is to fight the root cause; for example, the World Health Organization fights the root cause of malaria to eradicate it. If they were to fight malaria fever instead of the malaria mosquito, the disease would become more widespread."
🔹Shi'a Capable Individuals Also Suffer from Discrimination
Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: "If discrimination against women, ethnic groups, religions, and faiths is eliminated and justice is established, many problems will be solved. Unfortunately, discrimination is so widespread that even many capable Shi'as suffer from it."
He added: "We have said repeatedly that even if capable Shi'as were used in administration, we would not have much complaint and would be patient. If capable and competent men were in charge and running the country properly, women would also be patient. But unfortunately, only a certain group is employed."
Sheikh-ul-Islam Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, referring to the flexibility of the Holy Prophet, Imam Ali, and other righteous Caliphs, stated: "Flexibility is very important, and until the root cause is addressed instead of the effect, no problem will be solved. Why don't the officials of our country show flexibility?"
He advised the officials to address discrimination and injustice instead of punishing women for taking off their headscarves.
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid continued: "Some public-spirited people state that, why do you say these things? But if we do not tell the truth and facts, God Almighty will be displeased with us, and we speak the truth and facts out of goodwill."
The Sunni Friday Imam of Zahedan added: "One of the mothers of martyrs wrote to me in a letter saying that do not say these things because it is useless, but we have a duty to say these things out of goodwill and to reform society as God Almighty has commanded in the Quran."
🔹 Scholars, Statesmen, and the General Public Should Be "men of action"
In the first part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid emphasized the need for "pragmatism" and said: "Allah Almighty says: 'O you who have believed, why do you say what you do not do?' All segments and classes of society, including scholars, statesmen, rulers, and the general public, are addressed by this verse. What is important is 'action'. We should all be pragmatic. Allah Almighty says: Do what you say and claim. If scholars speak from the pulpit about piety but do not observe piety themselves, it will both displease God and make their words ineffective. The key to the success of the prophets, as well as the Companions, the Ahlul Bayt, and the Muslims of early Islam, was that they acted on what they said."
He continued: "If we look at the character of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who is a model and example for all people of the world, especially for Muslims, we see that he (PBUH) acted even better than he said, and this was the reason for his (PBUH) success and his influence in society, and the number of his devotees and self-sacrificing followers increased every day. Prophet Ibrahim (AS), without looking at his own benefit or harm, fulfilled the orders of Allah Almighty. The Muslims of early Islam were men of action, moral teachers, and committed to morality and action. The faith, morality, and actions of the Companions and the Muslims of early Islam were exemplary."
🔹Nothing is as effective as Honesty and Truthfulness
The Zahedan Friday Imam said: "Unfortunately, Muslims today are afflicted with weakness in action. There is no weakness in the Quran, Sunnah, and teachings of religion, which is the way of life for us Muslims, but the weakness lies in us Muslims. Today there is a lack of action in society. Those who advise others to repent themselves repent less. Those who advise others to piety, if these advices are not for the sake of warming up gatherings and deceiving others, why do they not observe piety themselves?! When we invite others to fear God, we must also fear God ourselves."
He emphasized: "All Muslims, especially scholars and officials, must act on their words to the letter in order to have an impact on the people. Nothing is as effective as honesty and truthfulness. The effect of words without honesty is temporary. Honesty, religiosity, trustworthiness, piety, pragmatism, and realism are very vital and important and can bring about change in the world and influence others."
🔹We must be honest with God and God's people
🔸"Hypocrisy" causes scandal, and "honesty" increases honor and popularity
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid, in the concluding part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, emphasized the importance of honesty and education. He said: "We must all review our lives and make real changes in our lives. It is not enough to just be a scholar; a scholar must also act, be God-fearing, and never lie or be hypocritical in his life. It is the requirement of faith that we submit to God and avoid hypocrisy and deceit. We must know that God is always present and watching over our actions, and we cannot hide anything from God's sight. If a person commits a transgression or betrays someone behind the scenes, God Almighty sees it and reveals that betrayal and disgraces him. If a person fears God in secret and solitude and does a good deed, God Almighty will also reveal those good deeds to others."
He emphasized: "We must be honest with God and God's people. Hypocrisy and deceit are abhorrent acts to God and His servants and lead to disgrace in this world and the hereafter. But honesty increases one's honor in this world and the hereafter."
🔹 War is Detrimental to All
🔸 The World and the Middle East Cannot Tolerate another War
Mawlana Abdol-Hamid stated: "We advise all the people of the region who are somehow involved in the issue and all parties and groups that war and conflict are useless. The war in Gaza must be stopped, an immediate ceasefire must be established, and the hostages must be released. The world must persuade Israel to an immediate ceasefire."
He added: "In the current situation, not only the Middle East but the whole world cannot tolerate another war. War is detrimental to everyone, and everyone should avoid war and tension and pay attention to respecting each other's rights, fair and just settlement, and mutual respect."
🔹 Mawlana Abdol-Hamid on Guidance Patrols (morality police) and Women's Issues
Guidance Patrols (morality police) must fulfill their duty of 'guidance'.
In another part of his Friday sermon in Zahedan, Mawlana Abdol-Hamid addressed the issue of "guidance patrols" in the country and said: "The issue that is very painful and worrying for all of us these days is the issue of 'guidance patrols' and clashes with women. The issue of 'chastity' and 'hijab' is a religious matter, and covering the head is also obligatory from the Sunni point of view, and this is a religious ruling. However, dragging this issue into violence is not right."
He added: "We believe that the guidance patrols should fulfill their duty of 'guidance'. In Iran, some of the pillars of religion have been abandoned; prayer, zakat, and fasting are among the pillars of religion and are more important than covering the head. But why is there so much sensitivity to the issue of hijab - to the extent that men even get involved and push girls, say inappropriate things, grab women's hands and feet, and throw them into cars - which sharia law does it match?! The same sharia law that makes hijab obligatory does not allow an unrelated man to take a woman's hand and drag her."
🔹 "Root Cause of Some Women's Opposition to Wearing Hijab Should Be Analyzed"
"Women Believe Their Honor Has Not Been Protected and They Have Been Discriminated Against in the Islamic Regime"
The Zahedan Friday Imam said: "Why is the opinion of scholars and academics not sought on this issue? The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to consult with his companions, young men, and women on matters. Islam is not just about ruling; the government of Muslims was not just about issuing orders and decrees; it was a people's government where people were consulted."
He continued: "These same Iranian women used to wear hijab in the past. All Iranian women and men used to pray and fast in the past. But we need to examine and analyze why some women have taken off their hijab. The enemy has been there before, but you see what else has happened besides the enemy. We need to sit down with these women and listen to their concerns; these women believe that they have not reached their rightful place in the Islamic system and have been discriminated against. We also believe that women have been wronged; not even one president or minister has been elected from among women and minorities in all these years. Sit down with women and listen to their concerns and convince them, or consider their rights. Minorities and religions also have their own words and problems; hold meetings with them and listen to their concerns."
🔹Everyone is familiar with the moderate approach of Maulana Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, and the people of the province
🔸It would be better if "reason" and "integrity" were considered when assigning responsibilities
In the final part of his speech, Maulana Abdulhamid referred to the insults that had recently been committed by some officials and one of the Friday imams in the province and said: We never respond to insults and indecencies; even if the highest person insults us, of course, if someone accuses, we believe they should be answered.
He added: Everyone is familiar with the moderate path of Maulana Abdulaziz, may God have mercy on him, and the people of Makki and the people of Sistan and Baluchistan province. The people of the province are reasonable people and are not emotional. It is always these emotions that ruin things.
The Friday prayer leader of Zahedan mentioned: It would be better if when someone is given a responsibility, their "reason" is considered before their knowledge. If they choose a minister, governor, or Friday prayer leader, they should first examine his reason, then his knowledge and expertise, because "reason" and "knowledge" are two separate things. Many people have "knowledge" but do not have the necessary "intelligence." A person must be endowed with "reason" to control "knowledge" and control everything with reason.
He continued: Another important point is that a person should have "nobility" and "decency" in addition to "intelligence" and "knowledge". One of the issues that we unfortunately did not reach an agreement on, in the Islamic Republic, is paying attention to "decency" in assigning positions and responsibilities. Once I told some officials that when assigning responsibilities, also consider the “nobility" and "decency" of the individual because if you give a high position to someone who lacks these, he will get above himself and cause trouble, but they disagreed with this view and opinion.
