14 people, including my wife and children celebrated the Midsummer blot to Thunder with the Hearth of Devon last night.
It was the 7th summer blot to Thor held by HOD.

Mysterious Celtic La Tène sword found deposited in a well at the sanctuary of Zeus at Nemea, in the Peloponnese
So at the height of Greek civilisation (4th c BC), right in the south of Greece, either Celts were present or Greeks thought Celtic swords were so good that they imported or copied them.
Central European Celts of Pannonia had expanded to the Danube and Sava Rivers by the mid 4th century BC, going on to conquer parts of Illyria and Thrace.
This bracteate from Over Hornbæk, Denmark has the runic inscription contained within a worm terminating at each end in the heads of Odin's ravens.
Such a cool design!
This weekend is the annual Midsummer Thor blot of the Hearth of Devon. I hope everyone will enjoy the holiday wherever they celebrate it

Historical landmarks of Early Christian period. Figure from The Early Christian and Byzantine world by Jean Lassus.
What an incredibly tempestuous period.
'On glass and on gold and on heroes' amulets; in wine and in wort, and beloved seats, on Gungnir's point and on Grani's breast, on the Norns' nails and on the beak of an owl' Sigrdrifumál verse 17
oc á nefi uglo.
How Central European (celtic) DNA entered the German genepool is complicated. Some of it happened during Ancient Germanic expansion but evidently there was more geneflow in early medieval times
“This likely reflects the historically documented expansion of the Langobards into the region, although this immigrant population appears to have mixed with the existing local late Roman inhabitants rather than replacing them."
New study
the picture that blasted a million bottoms. Few works of art have rustled as many jimmies of vast hoardes of idiots as this picture of two Aryan charioteers by Christian Sloan Hall. Set about 1500 BC, the Kshatriya and his charioteer belong to the Andronovo or Sintashta culture and are charging down a man from the Indus Valley culture whose broad flat spear is a feeble weapon compared to their light war chariot with spoked wheels.

The media will have you believe that the “new” patrix with a horned weapon dancer discovered two years ago in Kent, has proven that the Sutton Hoo helmet was not made in Sweden.
In reality the helm’s similarities to Vendel era Svea helms was observed in the sixties but it has been a long time since anyone seriously argued it was made in Sweden. The method of construction was very different and the foil motifs have even been found on another English helm (Staff hoard).
Additionally the specific motif of a Wodenic dancer wearing bird crests (horns) is found on loads of English artefacts (as well as across the Germanic world) and has never been exclusively Swedish.
This die/patrix is yet another example, and doesn’t change what archaeologists think about things. I made a whole video about the weapon dancer motif and what it means which you can see below 👇

A striking example of early Irish Christian art. Folio 3v. from the 7th century book of Durrow.
The central circular and spiral motifs show clear continuation with pre-Roman Late La Tene Irish art. The borders are influenced by Salin style II art of the Angles in Northumbria.
This particular page has no clear Christian symbolism and would have had obvious connotations with the pagan past of Ireland as well as the pagan present in England to any contemporary observer.
Roots of the Angles not only provides insights into wetland deposits of the Angles specifically, but more generally of Germanic Iron Age customs relating to the bogs and lakes.

Germanic auxiliaries in the Anglevari and Cornuti regiments of the Roman army used this design on their shields in the 4th century. The same design is found on contemporary sword decorations from bogs in the territory of the Angles. This example came from Ejsbøl bog in southern Jutland. The two birds represent the ravens of the god Woden.
You can honour your ancestors and gain the same power from the symbol they sought, with this new shirt.
Thoughts and prayers except the thoughts are on revenge and the prayers are to Woden for victory
