The majority of EARLY Corded Ware males from the Czech Republic belong to R1b.

59% belong to R1b to be exact.

They specifically belonged to the subclade L151.

I have a snapshot of their Y DNA results above.

I have always supported the Celtic from Central Europe theory as opposed to the Celtic from Atlantic theory. However this article argues a third theory that celtic emerged from France which is quite plausible. Even if Proto-Celtic didn't come from France, it is certain that Celtic entered Iberia and the British Isles from France, and probable that Italian Celtic was also from Gaul. However the Celtic expansion Eastward into the Balkans and Anatolia did not come from France, but from central Europe. The Celtic from the Atlantic (whether Britain or Iberia) theory is still def wrong though!

HONORING ODIN, ON ODIN WORLD PRAYER DAY!

On the 9th, Sheila and I stood at our altar and poured our offering to Odin, asking him to give us blessings. ...I dedicated myself to Him over 50 years ago - no regrets!

"Hail to you, High One! Shake our sleeping Folk from its nightmare, and lead us to our high Destiny! May our Folk forever be, may we find great fate, sovereign and free!...Hail to all who honor you on this, your day!"

On Milleniyule this Friday I think I shall talk about the Anglo-Saxon paper a bit and the female skeleton with black ancestry they found.

If I have time perhaps I shall also talk about one of my favourite authors - Henry Williamson

Updated the article as I do every year. For those who give a hoot, here's the TLDR: "viking christmas" happens comparatively early this season, with the full moon of the second Yule month landing round January 6th.

the 'we wuz Scythians' crowd generally depend on misreading the rambling nonsense of medieval Catholic scribes to claim that Celts or Germanics are Scythians. I can understand why this conclusion is reached since Byzantines even called Vikings Scythians sometimes (even though this was well over 1000 years after Scythians existed). Byzantines also called Varangian Vikings Goths even though it was centuries after the Goths existed either but this all comes from the fact that Goths did mix with Scythian descended people, namely Hunns and Alans and in the Greek mind these people were all northern barbarians, a bit like when Brits refer to Bengalis and Indians as P*kis.

That said, some Europeans do indeed have Scythian ancestry, especially people in the far East of Europe, mainly Slavs, who during the medieval Slavic expansion absorbed various Turkic and other peoples who had descended from the Iranic speaking Scythians.

But the Alans who spoke a Scythian language and were certainly the descendants of Scythians, did penetrate into Western Europe. The name Alan comes from the word Aryan - so these were Aryans. They got as far West as France/Spain and although they did not leave any significant genetic impact, it is likely they mixed with some locals and they were migrating around with Germanic tribes such as Vandals, to whom they surrendered and they also migrated with Suebi and Vandals to Iberia.

They looked like their Germanic comrades. The Roman Ammianus Marcellinus said they were tall, beautiful, blonde and fierce. So they did not look like modern Iranic speakers at all. So physically and autosomally they were not very different from the migrating Germanic tribes they got mixed up with but they had distinct Y lineages and these are not common in Western Europe at all indicating that they do not constitute a significant part of European ancestry.

New DNA evidence shows there was a small contribution of Khazarian and Alan converts to Judaism to the Ashkenazi Jewish gene pool, which somewhat validates the previously discredited Khazar theory. Khazars like Alans were of Scythian descent. SO Jews are probably more Scythian than any Celts are!

Bichon Man - NEW Mesolithic European reconstruction!

Bichon Man was a Western Hunter-Gatherer from Switzerland. He lived during the Upper Paleolithic transitional to Mesolithic period (13,770 years ago), also known as the Azilian period in European prehistory.

Bichon Man was between the young age of 20 to 23 when he died near a cave - his bones were found intermingled with that of a female brown bear, nine flint arrowheads and charcoal. Arrowheads lodged into the bones of the bear suggest that this was a violent death and both Bichon Man and the female bear died on top of eachother.

Bichon Man stood at 5'5 (165cm) tall and weighed 60kg (130lb) which was the average height and weight of most male WHG at the time. Based on muscle attachments visible on his skeleton it is said that he had a relatively slender yet muscular build and a pronounced Lateral asymmetry, suggesting right-handedness just like Villabruna Man.

Bichon Man carried Y-DNA I2a and mtDNA U5b, the two most common WHG lineages at the time.

The cult of the Sicilian Saint Lucia is most popular in Sweden where they represent her traditionally with the prettiest blondest girl. She leads a procession with candles on her head and they sing hymns. However in this song, Lusse has been reimagined as an epithet of the goddess Freyja.

I used to be acquainted with the Odinist witch Freya Aswynn. Dutch by ancestry, she was one of the early figures in European heathenry who pioneered devotional music in the 80's collaborating with famous neofolk artists such as Death in June, Ian Read of Fire+Ice, Current 93 and others. Her pagan faith was mingled with Nietzschean philosophy. I once saw her perform a ritual using Wagner as a backing track. Despite the right wing associations of her early work, when I knew her she was trying to disassociate from anything like that. But she couldn't escape the cancel culture juggernaut. Anyway I still think her early music is very interesting and unlike any 'heathen' music being made today.
