This figure shows how the changing populations of Denmark in the Mesolithic/Neolithic/Bronze Age corresponds to changes in haplotypes and phenotypes.
Eye colour not that different overall, but blondism and height have been selected for.

“The legendary monarch – who is said to have ascended the throne by pulling his sword, Excalibur, out of a stone and then ruling Britain with the help of knights of the round table and the wizard Merlin – was included in a local educational resource in Denbighshire that documents ‘key moments’ in LGBTQ history.
The timeline, which tells “stories of sexual orientation and gender identity,” is based on the work of LGBT-focused historian Norena Shopland, whose research is backed by Swansea University. The initiative forms part of the training in ‘LGBTQ+ Language and History’ for local libraries, museums, and archives, and was commissioned by the Welsh government.”

I am wearing the very Indo-European Sky Father hoodie from STJ's merch range
Funny story, I went camping with this hoodie on one time and another group of lads said that they liked the look of it and asked if Dyeus Phtr on the front was Poseidon. I said no, it's Jupiter, then told them about the Indo-European origin of this god and showed them the Sky Father video

Ancestry dot com have updated their dna tests. So formerly you could see a parent by parent breakdown for the dna results, but now you have to pay extra to see this! They have also removed the tools that allow you to connect dna matches to people on your tree unless you have a subscription! Terrible attitude towards their customers! It does however have this cool feature now, which connects the region whence specific ancestry came to the ancestor on your connected tree who comes from that region and then shows their face on the map
Ancestry proportions are slightly different too but the categories are ridiculous. For eg. Ancestry from the Netherlands is included in 3 separate categories: 1. Germanic Europe 2. England and NW Europe 3. Netherlands. How does that help people to understand their origins?
I have ancestry from all 3 of these regions apparently, but mostly from 1. and 2. However the actual breakdown of English vs Dutch vs German etc is not possible! Also I know for a fact that everything they have labelled as "Netherlands" and "Germanic" (they use this in a novel and weird way defined as primarily Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Switzerland but also Czechia, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovenia) as actually English so it is just wrong. Anglo-Saxon ancestry is NOT Dutch or German as it precedes the existence of either of those nations! Call it ENGLISH.
According to this though about 80% of my ancestry is from the broad 3 Germanic regions England/Netherlands/German speaking continent.

The women depicted at the top have been speculated by some to be representations of Freyja practicing seiðr. A similar motif runs throughout these depictions of the women. All of them clutching their hair bound into knots. The examples also depict mouths open, possibly chanting their magic. Knots were associated by our ancestors with generating storms and wind-making, an element of seiðr.
The Skellerup woman found in Østfyn, Denmark features the similar motif of a woman clutching her hair on both sides. Dated between 800-900 AD. But what’s most interesting about this piece is the band secured around the mouth of the woman. Interesting as well is the clothing she was depicted wearing. Clothing which is strikingly similar to the Lejre idol sitting on Hliðskjálf, which is commonly attributed to be Odin but also features a band covering the mouth. Both depictions come from Denmark being dated to the same periods.
Now let’s look at what we are told in our sources regarding Frigg:
Frigg sits upon Hliðskjálf
“Othin and Frigg sat in Hlithskjolf and looked over all the worlds”
- Grímnismál
“The fate of all
does Frigg know well,
Though herself she says it not."
- Lokasenna

Another interesting note on Gísla Saga Súrssonar is that, in relation to Óðinn, the secret-slaying (murder) of Gísli's brother-in-law, Vestein, prompted Gísli to compose poetry where he mentions Óðinn:
Twice I dreamt it! Thrice I could not.
Vestein, Óðinn's darling, would not
Have been wakened thus I ween,
When we sat in Vibjorg drinking,
Never from the wine-cup shrinking,
No man sitting us between.
Now he takes hold of Þórgrímr gently, so that he woke and turned towards Þórdísa, for he thought she had roused him.Читать полностью…
Then Gísli lifts the clothes off them with one hand, while with the other he thrusts Þórgrímr through the body with Graysteel, and pins him to the bed.
Now Þórdísa, cries out: 'Wake up men in the hall; my husband Þórgrímr is slain!'

Autumnal traditions: One of the maddest, most spectacular folk traditions of the British Isles is the annual burning of the tar barrels in Ottery St Mary in Devon. The chaps who lift the flaming barrels are called barrellers; they have to be local, born and bred, and they begin lifting running the tar barrels at the age of seven! https://youtu.be/qnXx6jvsQto
