The last Heathen English king, Arwald, died in 686. Bede was born in 672/3. In Bede’s own land of Northumbria there had been mass reversion to Heathenry in 633 following the death of their Xian king.
The idea that Bede’s account of the goddess Easter can be seen as “faulty history” as some claim, is absurd. He very probably met Heathens as first hand sources! Or even if he was too sheltered in his cloisters to have experienced rural peasant culture, the elder monks around him, and travelling merchants would have FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE of English Heathens. Many of them raised by Heathen parents!
There is absolutely no way he could have made up an imaginary goddess to explain the name of such an important Christian holiday. It would go against all his purposes to do so. This is wishful thinking from certain Christians who want to throw shade on what is an uncontroversial fact among philologists.
New video.
In a very rural part of Essex is a church tucked away in a small village. Within this church there are several treasures with much mystery and myth behind them, including a face carving and several swastikas! Join me as I get special access to this church to film this special video.

Similar ornaments were used by the Slavic and Baltic tribes, and are still found across India today.

The Eyrbyggja saga mentions another form of sacrifice to Thor…
“The circle where the court used to sentence people to be sacrificed can still be seen, with Thor's Stone inside it on which the victims' backs were broken, and you can still see the blood on the stone.
Though this assembly place was held to be highly sacred, people were not forbidden to ease themselves there.”
Makes one wonder how many stone circles were used in a similar manner.

"Long-term hunter-gatherer continuity in the Rhine-Meuse region was disrupted by local formation of expansive Bell Beaker groups"
The swampy region of Netherlands, Friesland, schleswig-holstein was host to a population with high WHG ancestry thousands of years after WHG went extinct.
This unique group of swamp people eventually mixed with IE invaders to form the Bell Beaker folk who went to Britain.

I enjoyed this new documentary which touches on many of the themes in Evola’s The Mystery of the Grail.
His ideas about the meaning of romantic relations within the context of chivalric literature are interesting.
"Wilt thou do the deed and repent it? thou hadst better never been born:
Wilt thou do the deed and exalt it? then thy fame shall be outworn:
Thou shalt do the deed and abide it, and sit on thy throne on high,
And look on today and tomorrow as those that never die."

It turns out this was also done by the Yamnaya people too. The Boldyrevo I Kurgan had several meteoric iron objects. The reconstruction pictured is of the Yamnaya man who was buried with these iron weapons, which before analysis, were presumed to be made of copper alloys.

It's worth adding that the Old Norse term for reincarnation as it is written in Helgakviða Hundingsbana is endrborinn.
We learn in Helgakviða Hundingsbana that Helgi—in his first incarnation as Helgi Hjǫrvarðsson—must go on a quest to the Hatafjǫrðr (Fjord of Hate) to fight the jǫtunn Hati (Hatred) and his companion Hrǫðmarr (Ocean of Rage) to win the love of the valkyrie Sváva, who has been protecting and guiding him.
Following this, Helgi must fight a battle by the Frekasteinn (Greedstone/Rock of Greed), where he loses the battle and dies. However, the poem ends with the reassurance that Helgi ok Sváva eru sagð endrborin — "Helgi and Sváva are said to be reincarnated."
Helgi then reincarnates as Helgi Sigmundarson, the son of the famous Sigmundr Vǫlsungr from Vǫlsunga Saga, and has an experience in which valkyrjur appear before him. One of the valkyrjur being Sigrún, the reincarnation of Sváva from the previous life. Helgi, in his new life, is prompted by Sigrún to embark on a similar quest as the last one, where he conquers Hatred, Rage, and Greed, as well as Death. It is only now that Óðinn determines that He wants Helgi in Valhǫll, so He hurls a spear at Helgi and kills him. Helgi is buried in a haugr, and Sváva comes to visit him. The two travel back and forth between the mound and Valhǫll to see each other.

A nonsense article claiming the Sutton Hoo helmet “formerly thought to have been made in Sweden” was made in Denmark.
Yes it is similar to Vendel era helmets from Uppland but no archaeologists have thought it was made in Sweden for decades. A local manufacture is usually considered most likely. That the patrice or pressblech designs are similar to one found in Denmark is simply because the same religious motifs were used on such helmets across the Germanic world.

In one of his most anticipated conversations, Dan talked with Wulf Ingessunu, the English founder and warder of Woden's Folk. Wulf has been a prominent figure in folkish Heathenry since the 1980's, and is known for his more esoteric stance, much of which is revealed in the numerous books and blog articles he has written.

We are members of Via Electri, an organization for Traditional European Pagans. We have come together during this time when our native European traditions are facing many challenges. We are united in our common struggle and our common values. We have a shared understanding that there is an injustice in this world that we strive to defeat to restore balance and order in this world.
This is a fundamental position that we hold all native European traditions to include. This does not imply fundamentalism, because traditional Paganism allows for all traditions to coexist, each nation having its approach towards the Truth.
Still, we do not imply moral relativism, because we consider the fundamental purpose of all native European traditions to be the preservation of cosmic balance, the Law. The Cosmic Law is upheld by each nation according to its own traditions, each nation respecting its own Gods.
The traditions of each nation are passed down in practice. Native European traditions do not rely on the revelation of prophets or the dogmas of the initiated. Native European traditions rely on the continuation of correct ritual behaviour. The process of learning this correct behaviour may take years and some nations have had schools to train ritual specialists, but the enactment of rituals rely also on the heads of families.
All native European traditions regard the family as the model for society and we hold that the family is also the smallest unit in any society of Mankind. Families also provide the hierarchical model of interaction and behaviour within nations, between nations and between nations and their gods.
Correct ritual behaviour must be morally right. Men uphold the cosmic order by upholding traditions that are deemed virtuous. Of course the details on the exact definition of virtues may vary between European nations, by virtues we mean values that fundamentally guide an individual's behaviour towards the benefit of his family and nation.
Thus, we at Via Electri share the following basic values: respect towards the cosmic balance; acknowledgement of each nation having its own gods; basis of religion being in tradition; family as the basis of society; virtuous behaviour. By our work, we aim to further these values in Europe for the betterment of our nations.

Happy Spring Equinox!
"After recognizing that “nothing exists, all is permitted,” and the “freedom of the spirit,” the inevitable consequence is the challenge: “Now prove the nobility of your nature.”"
Julius Evola
“It is also possible to suppose that mechanical inventions, developed even further and further, may reach a point where they will seem so dangerous that men will feel impelled to renounce them, either from the terror gradually aroused by some of their consequences, or else following on a cataclysm which everyone is at liberty to picture as he pleases.” ‘Intro to the Study of the Hindu Doctrines’ - Guenon
Guenon’s theory that horrifying technological advances could be a catalyst, signifying the high water mark for the cult of progress before the West turns instead to a more Traditionally oriented civilisational mode, is represented in popular science fiction as "reactionary technophobia".
Specifically where post human ideals are represented, we find frequent examples of a mania for the dissolution of the organic human in favour of a new “higher”, mechanised version. While there were many films and novels of this genre (beginning perhaps with Shelley’s Frankenstein 1818) which serve as warnings of the dangers of the post-human or post-organic ideal; The Glass Bees, The Terminator, Demon Seed, Colossus: The Forbin Project, etc. In more recent years the trend is to portray post-humanism in a positive light, with sympathy for the cyborgs, augmented humans and artificial intelligences.
Fritz Lang’s Metropolis Movie 1927, foreshadowed much of what was to come in post-human sci-fi. It was remade as an anime in 2001 Metropolis (2001 film), in which the proletariat revolution against machines was preserved, but combined with a separate reaction from a privately funded “Fascist” organisation called the Marduks. Due to the Shinto religion’s belief that a kami (spirit) can occupy a robot, the sympathy for AI in Japanese cinema is more nuanced than the purely progressive representations in the West.
Another anime, Ghost in the Shell, while generally uncritical of the processes that lead to post-human conditions, is not altogether without merit. That being said the spin off series Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex features a typically anti-traditional plot-line in which the cybernetic police must battle an anti-refugee terrorist group named Individual Eleven, whose inspiration, a fictional political theorist named Patrick Sylvester, was based on Yukio Mishima and the essays the group disseminates are based on Mishima's "Kindai Nohgaku Shu (Modern Noh Collection)". However, the depiction of Sylvester is not entirely unsympathetic….
‘If one were to give one’s life as a revolutionary leader, that life would be sublimated into something transcendent. In death, a hero meets his mortal end, but he gains eternity.’ Patrick Sylvester.
Such nuances are entirely absent in modern films such as Lucy, in which a kind of false transcendence is celebrated. The review on Gornahoor puts it perfectly.
“Although Lucy achieves something like the Absolute Self, she is still “other”. Although she provides the world with all knowledge as bits on a flash drive, she does not solve the problem of meaning. What do they do with that knowledge? What does it all mean? Ultimately, nothing.” Cologero –Review of “Lucy” 2014.
The left is determined to undermine all conventional identity structures (nationhood, gender, race etc) in an effort to disorientate the individual, seemingly in preparation for the “new man” a post-human cyborg, entirely dependent on technology of diverse forms. It is therefore pertinent to discuss the subject of post-humanism in popular culture in detail. STJ October 2016
The famous Viking Egill Skallagrimsson was gifted by Odin with a poetic skill that was evident by the time he was three years old when he composed his first public verses.
He was still a child when he composed the above prophetic verse for his Mother about his future as a Viking. It is the basis for the 'my mother told me' Viking song.
This art of Egill was created by Ryan Murray for my coming film about the heroes of the Icelandic sagas.
