The Strength Hidden in Difficult Times

Every human life faces difficulties. No one moves through life without experiencing pain, loss, or disappointment. Yet, it is often during the hardest moments that people discover their true strength. Difficult times may feel unfair and overwhelming, but they also carry lessons that comfort and ease never teach.

When life is smooth, we rarely stop to reflect. We move forward without questioning our choices or understanding ourselves deeply. However, when problems arise, we are forced to pause. We think more carefully, observe our emotions, and search for meaning. This process, though uncomfortable, helps us grow wiser and more aware.

Failure is one of the most painful experiences, yet it is also one of the most valuable teachers. A person who has never failed has never truly tested their limits. Failure shows us where we went wrong and what needs improvement. It builds patience, humility, and resilience—qualities that cannot be learned from success alone.

Hard times also reveal the people around us. Some individuals disappear when things become difficult, while others stand beside us without being asked. Through struggle, we learn who truly cares and which relationships are worth nurturing. In this way, pain clears confusion and brings emotional clarity.

Another hidden gift of hardship is gratitude. After experiencing loss or struggle, even small comforts begin to feel precious. A peaceful morning, a kind word, or good health no longer seem ordinary. We start appreciating life not for its perfection, but for its presence.

It is important to understand that strength does not always mean being fearless. True strength often means continuing despite fear. It means waking up each day and trying again, even when the future feels uncertain. Courage is not the absence of pain; it is the decision not to be controlled by it.

Time plays a powerful role in healing. While pain may feel permanent in the moment, time slowly softens its sharp edges. Scars remain, but they remind us that we survived. What once felt unbearable becomes a part of our story, not the end of it.

In the end, difficult times do not come to destroy us. They come to shape us. They teach us empathy, patience, and inner strength. When we look back, we often realize that the moments we feared the most were the ones that changed us for the better, making us stronger, kinder, and more deeply human.

Can you explain the difference between "under" and "below" in terms of their usage in English grammar and vocabulary?
Although they mean the same as far as position goes, the usage is quite distinct. The first place to look when trying to discover differences between words that seem at first glance to be synonyms is their origins.

Under has Proto-Indo-European roots, and its earliest attested use in English is from the 8th century. Below on the other hand, is from a much later period, Middle English (late 14th century) and was borrowed from Old Norse.

Under refers not only to a physical position (There’s a mouse under the table), but also figuratively, as in under control or influence. We are under his control, the students are under the impression that.. etc.

Below is a more recent addition to English and has a more limited range of meaning. It refers to a position like under, but doesn’t have as many figurative senses. It is used in science as in temperature, below zero, and in ranking, The corporal is below the general.

The general sense of both words, as far as position goes, is pretty much the same. What is different is when the senses become more figurative. Under has more metaphoric stretch to it (control, influence), whereas below stays quite logical (science, rank)

There are also many more expressions to be found with under than with below.

You can see some senses of these two words below ;-)

By looking under these words in the Oxford English Dictionary, I have copied some senses of the words with corresponding example sentences for you to get a better sense of how English speakers use these two words.

UNDER

below the surface of something; covered by something

less than; younger than

an annual income of under £10 000
affected by something

The wall collapsed under the strain.
used to say who or what controls, governs or manages somebody/something

The country is now under martial law.
according to an agreement, a law or a system

A man was detained under the Mental Health Act.
experiencing a particular process

The hotel is still under construction.
using a particular name

She also wrote under the pseudonym of Barbara Vine.
found in a particular part of a book, list, etc.

If it's not under ‘sports’, try looking under ‘games’.
BELOW

at or to a lower level, position or place

They live on the floor below.
at a lower rank

This ruling applies to the ranks of Inspector and below.
(of a temperature) lower than zero

Which is correct, "an honest" or "a honest"?

The choice of non definite article is governed by the beginning sound of the word before which the article is to be used.
Here, the word is HONEST which begins with a vowel sound because the ‘h’ is silent.
The practice is to choose ’a’ before words beginning with a consonantal sound and ‘an’ before words beginning with a vowel sound.
So, the correct phrase is ‘an honest’ as in He is an honest man.

How Making Mistakes Helps Improve Language Skills

If you search the internet for quotes about mistakes, you'll find that most of them tell you how making mistakes is an important part of learning — and life!

But many of us still worry about mistakes, especially when we're speaking a different language.

So perhaps you've heard this advice before, but here it is again: Don't be afraid of making mistakes when you're learning English!

Okay, but why not?

If you make mistakes during an English lesson, it's really useful for the teacher to see where they might be able to help you improve.

And if you get corrected, you'll also be able to work on improving your own language skills.

Of course, you probably won't be corrected if you're using English in real life to go shopping or talk to friends, but in time you'll begin to hear your own mistakes, says language expert Luca Lampariello.

He believes that self-awareness is a really important skill for learners. It means they'll begin to hear the mistakes they make and be able to correct themselves.

Making mistakes also shows you're trying hard to challenge yourself; you're moving out of your comfort zone by trying to use new structures and words.

Think of it like working out in the gym. When you're lifting weights, your muscles hurt because the lifting causes little tears in your muscle fibers. But when they repair, those muscles get stronger.

It's a similar situation with languages. A mistake might hurt your confidence at first, but when you learn from it, you'll be a better speaker afterward.

And like exercise, you've just got to keep doing it — so practice having those challenging conversations as much as you can!

As Cambridge English says, the most important thing is just to communicate!

کلید ماجرا در تفاوت دو فعل است: «Lie» و «Lay».

«To Lie»

به معنای دراز کشیدن یا خوابیدن است. این فعل نیاز به مفعول ندارد (فعل لازم است). شما فقط دراز می‌کشید.
· زمان گذشته ساده آن «Lay» است. پس می‌گوییم:

«She LAY down to take a nap».
(او دراز کشید تا چرتی بزند.)

زمان گذشته کامل آن «Lain» است:
«She has lain down».

«To Lay»

به معنای گذاشتن یا چیزی را قرار دادن است. این فعل همیشه یک مفعول می‌خواهد (فعل متعدی است). شما چیزی را می‌گذارید.
زمان گذشته ساده آن «Laid» است. مثلاً:
«She LAID the book on the table».

مثلاً: «She lied to me».

پس به یاد داشته باشید:
برای دراز کشیدن: Lie – Lay – Lain
برای گذاشتن: Lay – Laid – Laid

دفعه بعد که خواستید بگویید «دیشب زود دراز کشیدم»، به جای «I laid down early last night»، درستش این است: «I lay down early last night».

🎙️📖 READ & RECORD – ACTIVITY OF THE DAY 📖🎙️

When we stop expecting too much from people or situations, we free ourselves from disappointment. Each moment, each smile, each helping hand becomes brighter and more meaningful. Life feels lighter when gratitude fills the gaps we once tried to control. Happiness grows in the simple joys we once overlooked but now embrace fully.
It’s easy to forget how much we already have while chasing what we don’t. Pause and see the little things—warm mornings, a friend’s message, a laugh shared. These are not small; they are proof of life’s quiet gifts. Appreciating what exists opens doors to more joy than endless wanting ever could.
🌱✨ Read with feeling. Record with confidence. Grow with practice. ✨🌱

What is the difference between "couldn't be able to", "wouldn't be able to" and "might'nt be able to"?

First of all, “couldn’t be able” is not used in English because it is an unnecessary repetition of the same idea. “Could” expresses ability, and “be able” also expresses ability, so it is unnecessary to use “could” and “be able” together. This is also why we do not use “cannot be able” (X). We simply say: “I was not able …” or “I am not able …” or “I will not be able …”.

“Would not be able” has two uses:

It is used as the past form of “will not be able”—that is, it expresses future in the past. Here are some examples:
She said that she would not be able to attend the wedding because her mother had suddenly taken seriously ill.
When I saw how big he was, I knew immediately that I would not be able to win the fight against him.
It is used in talking about an imaginary situation. Here are some examples:
He knew that if he lost his job, he would not be able to support his family.
If she did not have rich parents, she would not be able to study abroad.
“Might not be able” is used to talk about the possibility that someone will not have the ability to do something. Here are some examples:

I might not be able to come to the party tonight—I’m waiting to hear from my brother, who is returning from Iraq earlier than expected.
They might not be able to get there on time—the bad weather is slowing things down on the highway.

Talk boost | پادکست انگلیسی

*FACT CHECK* .......
People will talk no matter what path you choose, because talking is easier than understanding, and judging is easier than growing. You can be kind, honest, generous, and still become a target, not because you did something wrong, but because your way of living reminds others of what they are not doing with their own lives. When people cannot reach your level of peace, discipline, or self-respect, they often try to pull you down with words. Their criticism is not a measure of your value; it is a mirror of their frustration, insecurity, or fear. Most opinions are born from jealousy, pain, or boredom, not from truth. That is why trying to explain yourself to everyone slowly drains your energy. You start living for validation instead of purpose. The strongest response is silence and progress. Let them talk, because while they are busy discussing you, you are busy building yourself. Their words do not pay your bills, do not heal your wounds, and do not move your life forward. Your growth does. You are not responsible for how others misunderstand you. You are responsible for staying aligned with your values. Life becomes lighter when you stop carrying the weight of other people’s opinions. You are not here to impress, convince, or please everyone. You are here to live honestly, learn deeply, and grow steadily. Keep your head high, not in arrogance, but in self respect. Keep walking forward, even if you walk alone. Let negativity pass like noise in the background. When you focus on becoming better instead of being liked, peace follows you. And when you outgrow old versions of yourself, it is natural that some people will not come with you. That is not loss, that is growth.
*Wishing You Wisdom*

✍️ Why Is “Alcohol” an Arabic Word Used in English?

At first, the word alcohol doesn’t sound English at all.

And that’s because… it isn’t.

The word alcohol comes from Arabic — specifically from al-kuḥl.

Originally, al-kuḥl did not mean a drink.

It referred to a very fine powder, often used as eyeliner (kohl).
The key idea behind the word was something refined, purified, or extracted.

Centuries later, Arabic scholars became leaders in chemistry and medicine.
When they described the process of distillation — extracting the essence of a substance — the term al-kuḥl began to be used for these purified extracts.

As this knowledge reached Europe, the word traveled with it.

Over time:

al-kuḥl → alcohol
meaning shifted from fine powder → pure essence → distilled spirit
Eventually, in English, alcohol became the name for the distilled substance we know today.

You can still see this Arabic influence clearly:
many English words starting with “al-” came the same way:

algebra
algorithm
alchemy
Language doesn’t just borrow words —
it carries history, science, and culture across centuries.

💬 Did you know “alcohol” had nothing to do with drinks originally?

Can you explain why "She laid down to take a nap" is wrong and how to say it correctly?
The past tense of the verb “to lie" is “lay" — She lay down to take a nap. The perfect past tense is “lain" — She has lain down to take a rest.

The past tense of the verb “to lay" (meaning to place) is “laid". She laid the pen on the desk. The perfect past is unchanged — She has laid the pen on the desk.

Your sentence is incorrect since it employs the past tense of “lay" (to place) whereas the past tense of “lie" is required.

n.b. When the verb “to lie" means to tell an untruth, the past tense is “lied" and the past perfect tense is also “lied" — She lied to me. She has lied to me.
