Ok, I am not sure how familiar you are with the government as a system, but the reason it exists in the first place is to govern. The idea of governing is to have an entrusted person/body represent your interests.

The most logical reason why it's the case is because there are people trained for the job. The same way you don't go to an engineer saying you don't like the way the garage was built proposing your solution - it was built closest to what you've wanted it to be and according to the laws of physics as well as financial boundaries. Because it's an engineer's speciality - teaching, or giving him opinions about the way he should do things is simply not understanding how many factors are at play.

There is an interesting metaphor I've heard recently, which compares a develop society to a giant animal, and a small village cut off from the world to a jar of fleas. An animal is a large organism, which can live only if all the subsystems are functioning properly. If it's liver fails, the animal dies (liver, just as any other part of the animal are an analogy for the organisations in the modern society - you are dependent on the bread manufacturer, or a supermarket branch, or the government).

Meanwhile in a small village, everyone is highly independent - they get their own food (usually through farming), make their own clothes, etc.
Hence the analogy - if you shoot the large animal, it will die, as soon as one of the vital organs is damaged. Whereas if you shoot a jar with fleas, you will just get them all over the place.

I am not sure how well this explains what I want to say, but the basic idea is that in a developed globalised society like ours, the idea of having people vote for all the laws themselves, as well as having no leader, is highly highly unrealistic.

I am not even pointing out that though it sounds good on paper, there is no way anything like this would save Russia. As you rightly mentioned, there are enormous powers at play and creating a new power without the full life support from the old one is impossible. This then raises a question, will there ever be a government who wants to liquidate themselves? (Please note that this isn't a provocative question to conclude that people in the government are power hungry and corrupt by default, but rather to point out that any individual in their right mind would rather prosper themselves (after years of gaining their skills to do the job), than place their fate in a highly unrealistic solution.)

Putin and KGB will be in power until opposition learns how to leverage internet.
People like Novalny have used social media to "promote" lavish lifestyles of Russian political elite. It doesn't work.
Existing hierarchy is thoroughly corrupt. There's no prize in getting to the top of the Russian political hierarchy - it's rotten. I think it's wrong to think that if a good honest people reach the top of existing political hierarchy they'll reform the country. I doubt that it will work. Whoever that gets Putin's seat will become new Putin 4-5 years.
There's no need to fight system head on, new alternative system must be built.
Just like with a startup it has to solve problem 10-100 better than existing solution.
It's not only Russian issue, wherever you look people are complaining about corrupt and inefficient government.
I think there're several things that would have to be changed:
- Parliaments should no longer vote for laws, but only prepare them;
- People should be able to vote for and against any law in the country;
- No need for president/prime minister/secretary, there should be an executive for every branch of government like: head of health; head of education; Military; Police, etc;

The "capitalism <-> socialism" opposition seems outdated. I prefer to think in terms of "centralization vs decentralization". Humans have evolved to perform best in small groups of less than 150 people. That's why wherever there's centralization and excessive hierarchy, there's inefficiency and underutilized human potential. Capitalist monopolies and socialist dictatorships are equally bad.

In a natural environment, every small community is able to produce an outstanding leader and an independent thinker. In today's world of trillion-dollar monopolies and bloated governments, the potential of hundreds of millions of people is suppressed by the limitations imposed by our artificial societal structures.

That is the reason why tens of thousands of people working at big corporations such as Facebook have failed to keep up with what our small team at Telegram has been implementing. That’s also the reason why countries like Russia fail to generate and retain global brands in their jurisdictions. Genuine creativity is rare in organizations and societies built on excessive hierarchies and lack of personal autonomy.

- Court systems must be reformed with use of computer algorisms. We know terrible stats when judges are tired or hungry they tend to give harsher decisions. Computer systems are never tired, they're hard to bribe unlike humans. The only thing we need lawyers and judges is to help write rules and make sure that system works correctly;
- Most of the governance systems must be executed using smart contracts;
- Tax collection must be in trackable crypto, so when you pay your taxes you know exactly where your money went. That way we are more likely to pay taxes and you feel ownership of your country. And if somehow money you paid in taxes went straight in to a beach resort or expensive restaurant you can track the corrupt government official by click of a button.

We do not have to wait for existing political leaders to implement the change. They will never do it even if they promise, because it's against interests of existing ruling class! These new systems must be invented and implemented in parallel with existing governments. After a while they will take over not just whole country but the whole world.

Despite some troubles americans managed to transfer power from one president to another. Trump killed his political future by acting delusional. Power corrupts people. That's why people on the top have to be changed often or even better people should have a direct democracy. If we can post social media posts, we should be able to vote on major laws of our country. If we made a mistake by voting on wrong law, we can vote again to correct it and learn from our mistake. The delegation of powers is outdated.
