Verily, the reminding profits the believers.
Allāh have mercy on our Shaikh, the Imām, Al-‘Allāmah, Rabee’ Ibn Hādī Al-Madkhali who passed away today, Wednesday 14th Muharram 1447. His Janāzah will be performed after Fajr on Thursday at the Prophet’s Masjid in Madinah, inshā’-Allāh.
His biography:

EXPLANATION OF THE AYAH:
That is, and remember Our slave Zakariyâ, by way of praise and holding him in high esteem, mentioning his virtues and good characteristics, among which was this great virtue which is indicative of his sincerity towards people and the mercy of Allah towards him.
He «𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐩𝐨𝐧 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝: 𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬». In other words: he said:
{...𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐲 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐦𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝. 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐲, 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫 [𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭] 𝐦𝐲 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧 [𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐝𝐨] 𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐈 𝐚𝐦 𝐠𝐨𝐧𝐞, 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧.* 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐲 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫, 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐘𝐚'𝐪𝐨𝐨𝐛, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐦, 𝐦𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐦 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝.} (Maryam 19: 4-6)
From these verses, in which we see that he said «𝐌𝐲 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝, 𝐝𝐨 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬», we learn that as death approached, he feared that there would be no one to take his place in calling people to Allah and advising the slaves of Allah, for there was no one at his time who was like him in knowledge, and there would be no one to succeed him and carry on the work that he had been doing.
«𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐧𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬» that is, the best of those who remain, and the best to do good to people after I am gone, for You are more merciful towards Your slaves than I am, but I want to put my mind at rest and be reassured, and to have ongoing reward for that.
*His kinsmen did not care about religion, and he was afraid that after he died, religion would be neglected. So he asked for an heir who would uphold religion after he was gone. Therefore he asked for someone who would inherit knowledge and prophethood, not wealth, from him. (al-Qurtubi)

EXPLANATION OF THE VERSES
Remembering Allah (subhanahu wa ta'ala) may be done in the heart or verbally, or it may be both, which is the most perfect kind of dhikr. Allah enjoined His slave and Messenger Muhammad (ﷺ) first of all, and others by virtue of their following him, to remember his Lord to himself that is, sincerely when he is alone «with humility» that is, beseeching verbally, repeating all kinds of dhikr (remembrance) «and reverence» in your heart, with fear of Allah and apprehension that your deed may not be accepted. The sign of fear of Allah is that one strives and does one's utmost to perfect one's deeds, try to improve on them and be sincere.
«without raising your voice» that is, be moderate, neither too loud nor too quiet in your prayer, but following a middle course. «in the morning» at the beginning of the day «and in the evening» at the end of the day. The advantage and virtue of remembering Allah at these two times is greater than at others. «and do not be among the heedless», those who forget Allah, so He causes them to forget themselves; thus they are deprived of good in this world and the hereafter. They turn away from all blessings and success that come from remembering Him and submitting oneself in servitude to Him, and they turn to and focus on all that leads to misery and doom.
This is the etiquette to which the individual should pay proper attention, namely remembering Allah a great deal throughout the night and day, especially at the two ends of the day, sincerely, with proper focus and humility, and calmly, focusing on what one says, with proper conduct and dignity, calling upon Allah and remembering Him with full presence of mind, and not being heedless, for Allah does not answer the supplication of one who is distracted and not focused on what he is saying.
Then Allah tells us that He has slaves who persistently worship and serve Him, namely the angels. So you should understand that Allah is not seeking to have more of His creation worshipping Him because He does not have enough, or to be honoured because He is lacking in that; rather He wants what is beneficial for you and for you to gain from Him many times more than what your deeds are worth. Hence He says:
«Verily those who are near your Lord» namely the angels who are close to Him, the bearers of the Throne and the cherubim «are not too proud to worship Him»; rather they persist in humbly worshipping Him, submitting to the commands of their Lord «they glorify Him» night and day, without ceasing «and prostrate before Him» alone, with no partner or associate. So let the people follow the example of these noble angels and persist in worshipping the Sovereign, the All-Knowing.

EXPLANATION OF THE AYAH:
That is, everything that moves on the face of the earth, be it human, land animal or sea creature, Allah (سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى) has guaranteed its provision and food.
«He knows its dwelling place and its resting place» that is, He knows the dwelling places of all these creatures, namely the places where they reside, settle and return to. The resting places are the places to which they come and go as they go about their business.
«all» the details about all these creatures «is [inscribed] in a clear record» that is, in al-Lawh al-Mahfoodh, which contains all events that will happen in the heavens and on earth. Allah encompasses all of that in His knowledge and has written it with His pen; His will is always done, and His provision encompasses all of them. So hearts may be reassured that the One Who guarantees provision will suffice them, as He encompasses in His knowledge their essence and attributes.

And say to My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islâmic Monotheism) that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitân (Satan) verily, sows a state of conflict and disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitân (Satan) is to man a plain enemy.

People should speak Good Words with Politeness
Allah commands His servant Muhammad ﷺ to tell the believing servants of Allah that they should address one another in their conversations and discussions with the best and politest of words, for if they do not do that, Shaytan will sow discord among them, and words will lead to actions, so that evil and conflicts and fights will arise among them. For Shaytan is the enemy of Adam and his descendants, and has been since he refused to prostrate to Adam. His enmity is obvious and manifest. For this reason it is forbidden for a man to point at his Muslim brother with an iron instrument, for Shaytan may cause him to strike him with it. (Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Hurayrah said: "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
«لَا يُشِيرَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ إِلَى أَخِيهِ بِالسِّلَاحِ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي أَحَدُكُمْ لَعَلَّ الشَّيْطَانَ أَنْ يَنْزِعَ فِي يَدِهِ فَيَقَعَ فِي حُفْرَةٍ مِنَ النَّار»
(No one of you should point at his brother with a weapon, for he does not know whether Shaytan will cause him to strike him with it and thus be thrown into a pit of Fire.) Al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded this Hadith with the chain of narration from `Abdur-Razzaq.

Allāmah Ibn ‘Uthaymīn
(Healing is to be found in three things: the cut made by the cupper, or drinking honey, or in branding with fire (cauterizing), but I have forbidden my Ummah to use branding.)
(There is indeed a sign in that for people who reflect.) meaning in the fact that Allah inspires this weak little creature to travel through the vast fields and feed from every kind of fruit, then gather it for wax and honey, which are some of the best things, in this is a sign for people who think about the might and power of the bee's Creator Who causes all of this to happen. From this they learn that He is the Initiator, the All-Powerful, the All-Wise, the All-Knowing, the Most Generous, the Most Merciful.

And your Lord inspired the bees, saying: "Take you habitations in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect.
"Then, eat of all fruits, and follow the ways of your Lord made easy (for you)." There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colour wherein is healing for men. Verily, in this is indeed a sign for people who think.

🍯 In the Bee and its Honey there is Blessing and a Lesson
Tafsir Ibn Kathir (Abridged)
What is meant by inspiration here is guidance. The bee is guided to make its home in the mountains, in trees and in structures erected by man. The bee's home is a solid structure, with its hexagonal shapes and interlocking forms there is no looseness in its combs. Then Allah decrees that the bee will have permission to eat from all fruits and to follow the ways which Allah has made easy for it, wherever it wants to go in the vast spaces of the wilderness, valleys and high mountains. Then each bee comes back to its hive without swerving to the right or left, it comes straight back to its home where its offspring and honey are. It makes wax from its wings, and regurgitates honey from its mouth, and lays eggs from its rear, then the next morning it goes out to the fields again.
(and follow the routes of your Lord made easy (for you)) Qatadah and Abdur-Rahman bin Zayd bin Aslam said: "This means, in an obedient way", understanding it to be a description of the route of migration. Ibn Zayd said that this is like the Ayah:
وَذَلَّلْنَـهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ
(And We have subdued them for them so that some they may ride and some they may eat.) (36:72) He said: "Do you not see that they move the bees' home from one land to another, and the bees follow them" The first opinion is clearly the more likely, as it describes the routes that the bees follow, i.e., 'follow these routes as they are easy for you.' This was stated by Mujahid. Ibn Jarir said that both opinions are correct.
(There comes forth from their bellies, a drink of varying colors, wherein is healing for men.) meaning, honey, that is white, yellow, red, or of other good colors, depending on the different things that the bees eat.
(in which there is a cure for men.) meaning there is a cure in honey for diseases that people suffer from. Some of those who spoke about the study of Prophetic medicine said that if Allah had said, 'in which there is the cure for men', then it would be the remedy for all diseases, but He said, 'in which there is a cure for men', meaning that it is the right treatment for every "cold" disease, because it is "hot", and a disease should be treated with its opposite. Al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded in their Sahihs from Qatadah from Abu Al-Mutawakkil Ali bin Dawud An-Naji from Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri that a man came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "My brother is suffering from diarrhea". He said,
«اسْقِهِ عَسَلًا»
(Give him honey to drink.) The man went and gave him honey, then he came back and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I gave him honey to drink, and he only got worse." The Prophet said,
«اذْهَبْ فَاسْقِهِ عَسَلًا»
(Go and give him honey to drink.) So he went and gave him honey, then he came back and said, "O Messenger of Allah! it only made him worse. " The Prophet said,
«صَدَقَ اللهُ وَكَذَبَ بَطْنُ أَخِيكَ، اذْهَبْ فَاسْقِهِ عَسَلًا»
(Allah speaks the truth and your brother's stomach is lying. Go and give him honey to drink.) So he went and gave him honey, and he recovered." It is reported in the Two Sahihs from A'ishah, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to like sweet things and honey. This is the wording of Al-Bukhari, who also reported in his Sahih from Ibn Abbas that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
You Don’t Know Where or When You Will Die. What Have You Prepared For It?
