I think I even prefer the way Telegram goes about it, implementing a real requirement over the time span of weeks / months. Meanwhile what put me off the Foobar challenges, was that they were time-limited. The first level, which I completed, was limited to 24 hours. I remember wasting half of it, because I had assumed Google to have moved on from Python 2.7 and Java 8... Ahh, how naïve 🫠

There are 3 major contributors, which are John Preston, 23rd is Aokromes I think, and ilya-fedin wears a funny hat. The others seem to be one-time contributors, presumably from pull requests? I haven't looked further than the fourth contributor auchri's commits here, but it seems close enough.

At my dayjob, I gotta deal with a lot of idiots or idiotic behavior. And even though that's what I think, I don't need to dump on them or insult them in front of others.

I can criticize them, talk to them about the things I want changed or things I don't like and at the same time be respectful to them without resorting to offensive language.

Honestly, that's all I am asking for.

Would be reasonable to consider at least yeah... Reminds me of a challenge I saw on Durov's channel not too long ago, implement a given mock-up and the best one gets the job. Quite an interesting way to hire developers, I'd only seen it at Google with their Foobar challenges before. Didn't do the challenge myself, but I do like it!

It's not a single item that's wrong. It's the general tone of the poll. Wasn't it enough to create a poll with 2 options?

Is Telegram Open Source
- Yes, the client side / frontend
- No, most features are implemented on the server side that is close dsource

Did it really need four options to disagree with the question? And did the statements need to contain stuff like "making a joke of" "shit tons of TOS", "lies about xyz"?

That's not criticism, it's just someone that's frustrated with Telegram and wants to vent. And no, this is not the right place to do that. The second sentence in the group's description is "Please be nice".

I will gladly say this again: I don't care about criticism. Criticize Telegram as much as you want all day long. But I do care about the tone of discussions in our chat.
