2024 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees / 2024년 정부초청외국인 학부 장학생 모집 요강

The 2024 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees has recently been unveiled. The Korean government intends to increase the number of international students from the current 166,000 (as of 2022) to 300,000 by 2027.

As per the application guidelines, the first round of the 2024 Scholarship program offers 262 slots. Each country has been allocated a specific quota, so prospective applicants are encouraged to submit their applications promptly. While selection is not strictly based on a first-come-first-served basis, it is advantageous to apply early. Notably, the regional university track is expected to have less competition compared to the embassy track.

Solve IT is a nationwide innovation competition focused on young talents aged 18-28, with a mission to decentralize technology and empower grassroots communities.

In collaboration with the US Embassy and Dashen Bank, Solve IT 2023 is being conducted in six cities across Ethiopia: Addis Ababa, BahirDar, Dessie, Dire Dawa, Jimma, and Wolaita.

12 projects has now proceed to the final phase of the competition: The Bootcamp, where the finalists come to Addis Ababa for an intensive business, technical and pitching training to compete for the 1,000,000 birr seed money.

The event will discuss progress and prospect of the Ethiopian national dialogue initiative for; opportunities and challenges of digital media platforms in promoting peace; and community-based approach to peace.
