I just looked it up again and at 17.88 APY you would double your tezos in just over every 4 years.
I know that's a lifetime in crypto, but if you are saving to someday give it to your kids, (like I am) then it doesn't seem so long.
If it doesn't happen, then 2029 isn't even worth thinking about

If you look up an APY calculator and input your information, you could easily be a millionaire (USD) by the next bull market (2029) even if the price of tezos stays low. All you have to do is stake your tezos and wait.
If anyone is interested, look up something called "the rule of 72" which basically states that you double your money in X amount of time with X amount of interest.
yeah it's a common misconception. The reason the APY is so high for staking is that only ~20% all the tez is staked and staking gets x3 the rewards compared to delegations.
