The development group Hals-Development has radically revised the design of the “Admiral” business center, which will be part of a residential complex of the same name in the “Yuzhny Port” industrial zone.
Initially, the company had planned to construct two towers of differing heights designed by the architecture firm Genpro. Now, however, the developer intends to build a complex-shaped skyscraper consisting of four interconnected blocks. These blocks will rise up to 31 floors before abruptly sloping inward, forming diamond-shaped peaks with terraces.
The architects from the firm Ariada were clearly inspired by the unrealized design by Norman Foster for WTC-2 in New York.
The business complex will be constructed at 4A Shosseynaya Street.
In addition to the business center, the “Admiral” residential quarter will include a 367,000 m² residential complex (the first phase is currently under construction), as well as a school and kindergarten.

In Texas, school shooters will be neutralized by drones.
☝️ A Texas-based startup called Campus Guardian Angel has proposed using swarms of FPV drones to protect schools from active shooters. These drones are equipped with pepper spray canisters, flash-bangs, and metal “spears” for breaking windows — allowing them to breach the building from the outside if necessary.
The idea is as follows: armed drones remain on standby in docking stations on school grounds. As soon as an active shooter is detected inside the building, several drones are deployed to attack him with pepper balls, detonate flash-bangs to create distractions, and blast sirens through loudspeakers. The drones can even try to take down the assailant by ramming into him.
😎 The entire system is operated remotely from a command center by trained operators who use a digital model of the school. Indoors, the drones can reach speeds of up to 80 km/h, and up to 160 km/h outside. The startup claims that a shooter won’t be able to hit the drones easily — and even if he does, that’s fewer bullets left for other targets.
That argument, of course, is questionable at best.

📷❗️Important! Previously unknown capabilities of the long-focus optical-electronic monitoring satellites WorldView-4 (infographic and sketch No. 3) from Maxar have been revealed in the context of observing Chinese and Russian reconnaissance satellites.
Maxar Technologies has published images of the Chinese remote sensing optical satellite Shi Jian 26, the first of which (photo No. 1) was taken with a spatial resolution of 1.9 cm from a distance of 29.2 km, and the second (photo No. 2) with a resolution of 4.9 cm from a distance of 74.6 km.
For the first image, an optical-mechanical zoom system up to 300x and a digital zoom of approximately 3x were used.
For the second image, the optical zoom ranged between 300x–400x, and the digital zoom between 5x–7x.
Shi Jian 26, developed by the Harbin Institute of Technology, represents a new generation of Chinese optical-electronic Earth observation satellites.
Earlier this month, Maxar published images on social media of the Tiangong Space Station and the International Space Station, taken by one of its WorldView Legion satellites.
The images published by Maxar demonstrate the company’s current capabilities in the field of Space Situational Awareness (SSA).
SSA involves monitoring what is happening in space and includes a variety of activities: tracking active payloads and space debris, analyzing collision avoidance, predicting reentry of spacecraft into the atmosphere, and identifying characteristics of space objects — the latter provides information on a satellite’s functions, behavior, and projected future actions.
It is reasonable to assume that this system has already been adapted for reconnaissance of orbital interceptors of the Chinese PLA Space Forces and Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) in the long term.
It is also known that NATO has signed a contract with Maxar for the use of the WorldView satellite series to significantly expand reconnaissance capabilities in European Russia and the Ukrainian theater of operations, in order to expose the positions of armored vehicles, artillery, air defense systems, and electronic warfare assets.

📷⚡️Compact ATGMs / multipurpose tactical missiles 9M134 "Bulat" (“9М134 Булат") have been integrated into the Kornet ATGM system's ammunition load.
Specialists from Tula’s KBP Design Bureau have completed the development program for the compact 82-mm 9M134 "Bulat" anti-tank guided missile (ATGM).
Serial production of the system has begun, and it is now being integrated into the ammunition sets of Kornet ATGM systems. When using this missile alone (for example, when repelling breakthroughs by enemy motorized infantry platoon- and company-level tactical formations equipped with light armored vehicles such as the M113 APC, YPR-765 IFV, or M2A2 ODS-SA IFV), the standard loadout can be increased fourfold.
The missile borrows its design layout from the heavier 9M133M-2 missile of the Kornet system, weighing 6.5 kg and offering a range of up to 3,500 meters — practically matching the range of the 9M113M missile from the Konkurs-M system.
The 9M134 is equipped with a tandem HEAT warhead, but with armor penetration of approximately 250 mm behind ERA, compared to 1,300 mm for the standard Kornet missile. Accordingly, the new missile is intended to engage enemy main battle tanks only from the sides and rear, while it can effectively strike heavy IFVs such as the CV90 "Stridsfordon-90," Marder 1A3, and M2A2 ODS-SA in all armor sectors except those protected by BRAT-2 ERA elements.
Notably, the new 9M134 missiles, designed to counter breakthroughs by light mobile enemy armored groups, will allow for four times lower ammunition depletion rates in Russian anti-tank units on high-priority operational fronts.
It could serve as a way to standardize with the Kornet and replace older systems like the Konkurs, but if the production lines for the Konkurs are not shared and are already amortized and in truly mass production, then the advantage is less clear.
In general, this system doesn't offer anything fundamentally new in technical terms apart from unification.
If it makes sense logistically and industrially, it will succeed; if not, it won't.
We are still waiting for the large-scale implementation of a NLOS (non-line-of-sight) ATGM from the Russian defense industry.

❗️⚡️Can we intercept the BGM-109E TLAM-E Tomahawk cruise missile, and under what circumstances?
Following reports by The Washington Post regarding U.S. President Donald Trump allegedly considering the transfer of Tomahawk cruise missiles to Ukraine (a scenario that is highly unlikely given the U.S. Navy’s current focus on expanding its own arsenal with these missiles), discussions have begun within Russian expert circles about the feasibility of the Russian Aerospace Forces (VKS) intercepting such air-attack weapons.
On one hand, if regional and zonal-object layered missile defense systems are properly constructed using ground and air-based components of the air and missile defense, intercepting a salvo of 30 to 60 BGM-109E TLAM-E Block IV strategic cruise missiles would be a fairly routine task for a network-centric air defense system optimized for data exchange and target allocation.
For example, these subsonic TLAM-Es can be detected at launch by Russian electro-optical monitoring satellites “Resurs-P”, or infrared-equipped “Kanopus-V-IK” satellites. After detection, over-the-horizon (OTH) radar systems like the 29B6 “Container” can track their flight paths with an approximate margin of error of several kilometers — OTH radars in the HF band lack high precision.
Based on this data, an A-50U airborne early warning aircraft should be scrambled to establish the Tomahawk flight paths in advance using its “Shmel-M” radar from distances of 130–170 km against ground clutter. The targeting data can then be transmitted to automated control systems like “Polyana-D4M1”, which handle target distribution among S-400, S-300V4, S-350 “Vityaz,” and Buk-M3/M3A SAM batteries — these systems can begin intercepting Tomahawks even in beyond-the-horizon mode.
Notably, Buk-M3/M3A systems are capable of engaging up to 36 targets simultaneously in high-angle mode (up to 6 targets per 9A317M launcher), and if deployed equidistantly along missile-threat directions, with their 9S36 radars mounted on universal masts, they can cover low-altitude Tomahawk flight profiles (30–50 m) without “blind spots.”
Adding to this, a squadron of 12 Su-35S fighters could also intercept 80–100 Tomahawks, especially given that the missiles fly no faster than 950 km/h and have an RCS (radar cross-section) of 0.1–0.15 m².
However, the real-life implementation of such an optimized, network-centric air and missile defense system, and the correct deployment of tracking radars to eliminate OTH blind zones (not to mention the constant availability of A-50U aircraft) is, to put it mildly, not always the case within the VKS.
Moreover, an adversary could launch these missiles in combination with hundreds of kamikaze drones and false radar targets like the well-known ADM-160B MALD. While slower drones like “Lyutyi” may be distinguishable from Tomahawks, MALD decoys are not.
In addition, within three weeks, the Ukrainian Air Force (AFU) may begin deploying new stealthy cruise missile analogs of the KEPD 350 TAURUS, which have an even lower RCS than TLAM-Es — posing a serious challenge to Russian A2/AD zones.
