Today is Saint George's day. He was popular in England before the Norman conquest but was not the patron Saint of England in the Anglo-Saxon era. King Edward III made St George the patron saint of England in 1350, after forming the Order of the Garter in St George’s name. Although St. George is a popular Saint in many nations, his tradition in England can be seen as a continuation of a much older one, that of the dragon slayer. The Germanic hero Sigurd, known as Sigeweard to the English and Siegfried to the Germans, is the archetypal dragon slayer in northern heroic myth. Happy Sigeweard's day ;)

Imagine thinking he was ever going to be anything other than a sacrificial lamb.
There's no orchestrated Qtard tier conspiracy. Face the facts. The government, the courts and the media are in the hands of people who hate you and want to kill you.
And you know how they achieved this? Money, subterfuge and violence.

I'm a huge fan of Imperium Press. Mike is one of my favorite thinkers in this thing. He challenges even our most comfortable ideas and forces us to think.

“Dismantling the system means changing the way our field (medieval studies) is structured and that means, essentially, burning it down; something that people are not prepared to do because they spend time and money learning Old English, Old Norse, Old Irish, whatever. Those languages have saved absolutely zero people in our present day.”

It goes without saying that Oath-swearing is a critical component of the pre-Christian religions of Europe, and this goes doubly for Sacrifice. However, nowhere are the concepts better represented than in the story of Tyr and the binding of the Fenris wolf, from Snorri’s younger Edda.
We all know the story, and if you don’t, it’s absolutely worth a read. It is both tragic and inspirational. Yet it casts into light a murky grey area of pre-Christian morality.
In relation to the wolf’s binding, the Aesir swore an oath:
“...if though shalt not be able to burst this band, then thou wilt not be able to frighten the gods; and then we shall unloosen thee.”
As a collateral to this oath, the wolf demanded a God place their hand in its mouth. The only one with the courage, or perhaps the honor to do so was Tyr.
Clearly Tyr knew the wolf would take his hand, and worse still, Tyr was the only member of the Aesir who cared for the wolf up to this point. Yet at the same time, he knew what the wolf would bring, the destruction it would bring. So Tyr willfully sacrificed his hand to stave off the destruction of the Aesir, and worse still, sacrificed a potential friendship in the process.
And yet, this God had the honor to hold his end of the bargain. A sacrifice for a broken oath, to a monster destined to ruin them. Yet couldn’t he have removed his hand before the wolf realized it was trapped?
Here we get a sense of the power of the oath. As we can see, broken oaths have consequences. Remember to speak forthright, and to follow through on your words and promises, with deeds.
And remember the courage and honor of Tyr. Remember that we are part of something greater, our kin, our clan, and our race, and you may be called to Sacrifice what you hold as dear to these greater causes.

That being said, there is certainly a place for martial tradition. You should absolutely lift weights, you should practice your wrestling, you should perfect your marksmanship.
And those who are really adept at violence should participate in warrior lodges of sorts.
But the entire purpose of these practices are to benefit the folk when the time comes. Everyone from the warrior to the farmer to the scholar has an important role in the organism of the community.
There is no such thing as individualism.

I used to think Havamal only applies to travelers. Then I realized that we're all travelers. Conclusions aren't destinations, they're temporary stepping stones.

In earlier times, when people slaughtered farm animals or hunted game, every part of the animal was used.
The fur or the skin was used to make pelts and leather, feathers for pillows or arrows, the tendons for bows, the tallow for frying, soap making or skincare, the meat and organs for food and the bones were boiled to make bone broths, or grinded along with claws and hoofs to make fertilizer.
This way nothing was lost and people showed respect for the animal.
We must not forget about this, when we buy meat today. Unfortunately a lot of food is wasted these days. It doesn't have to be like that.

One of three members of the committee, Thomas Jefferson, proposed that one side of the seal feature Hengist and Horsa, "the Saxon chiefs from whom we claim the honor of being descended, and whose political principles and form of government we assumed"

The classical world was pretty neat and all. But the Romans themselves cited the mos maiorum ("tradition", lit. "way of the superior men"). Thucydides, Cicero, Lycurgus, Cato Maior... who were their superiors?

People like Eric Wade and Mary Rambaran-Olm aka Axel Folio on Twitter wanted to Ban the word "Anglo-Saxon" from academia and were furious with me for making this stream video in which I call them out for it - but now these same grievance mongers are being quoted by an American magazine, Newsweek, in response to the new America First Caucus' commitment to Anglo-Saxon political traditions. The end goal is to say that the term 'Anglo-Saxon' and anyone who claims an identity which has its roots in the Anglo-Saxon culture, is inherently a white supremacist.

It makes me sick. I was a boy scout growing up and my scout leaders were great men. Respected fathers, military men, leaders of the community.
I had a tough time as a kid. Between family problems and being a downright goofy shrimpy kid with big feet and huge glasses. I never hiked as fast, climbed as well or stood as tall as the other kids.
But at the end of the year they arranged a special acknowledgement for me because I earned more badges than all the other scouts.
They called me up and awarded me a new sash for my badges as well as a new uniform. Everyone clapped and my scoutmasters all shook my hand. These awesome guys I looked up to told me they were proud of me. I rushed home and proudly hung up my new uniform in my closet but I left the door slightly open so I could see it from my bed.
The fact that these putrid sodomite freaks have defiled something so wholesome and so good is something that will never be forgiven.
Subscribe to my homegirl Hiræth! She's a wonderful folk style singer/songwriter. Extremely unique sound.
Between her choices of chord progression and haunting voice her sound creates an atmosphere that I would call "mournfully uplifting". The way she produces is exceptional as well. Just her and her guitar creates a sound that fills the room. I imagine I'm walking through an ancient forest in deep contemplation. She does a lot with a little.
I'll drop some songs in the comments.
Asabro culture is cringe. It ranges from viking weebs to tough guy cults. Guess what? Most people have always been farmers. Wearing body paint in the woods in some larpy wolfgang meritocracy is hollywood.
Yes, the Gods are martial deities that can at times be wrathful. But they're also protectors, guides and healers. They are loving parents to all their children big and small.
There are many stanzas speaking to the warrior spirit of the folk. But there are many more about being fair, just and a true friend.
Children don't care about having a huge, expensive house to sleep in or a brand new vehicle that their car seat goes into. They don't need a playroom filled with tons of degenerate mainstream toys or all of the latest screens and tech gadgets.
The best thing you could give them is yourself, your love and your time. Give them siblings and animals to play with every day.
Give them a simple life full of love.
Heathens have always been a musical and expressive people. So it's no surprise that our great revival is bringing our ancestral flavor into modern genres. I highly suggest checking out Drumspyder's newest album on bandcamp.
It's a little funky at points, deeply resonate in others. He combines nasty hand drumming skill with various wind and string sounds to make a sound I'd describe as "Folktronic".

I highly suggest this lady's products. Stop giving your money to multinational corporations that hate your guts. Give it to someone who loves you and makes real organic products that are good for you.
Our critique of Monism apparently kicked a few hives of Monist hornets. Over the last few days these sperg dens have been slandering, threatening and acting downright childish in response.
My main critique was that Monism and platonism don't actually do anything practical. It doesn't build communities, improve lives or encourage tradition. In fact, it appears to be an extension of self hate. This is a quote from the admin of a Monist channel here on Telegram who describes his own ancestral folkways as a stupid religion worthy of annihilation. He hates his own ancestors and wants to see everyone embrace this universalism. Pretty easy to see the link between this and modern globohomo.
But at face value, these godless philosophy cults seem to be quite adept at producing heaps of philosophical word salads but completely fail at producing actual good people.
