The Swiss Federal Council announced that significant disagreements arose among the high contracting parties during extensive consultations, and that Switzerland determined that a substantial number of parties did not support the conference and has therefore decided not to hold it.

❗️Reports that members of the 'Military Council for the Liberation of Syria' have taken control of Al-Mukhtariyya Bridge on the M4 international road east of Latakia.
Clashes are ongoing in multiple areas across the Syrian coast and several videos have circulated of HTS-led Syrian forces being taken prisoner.
❗️Earlier this evening, a document circulated announcing the formation of the Military Council for the Liberation of Syria, reportedly signed by Brigadier General Ghiath Dala of the former Syrian military. It states that the armed groups currently rebelling against new authorities on the Syrian coast are working to “liberate all Syrian territory from occupiers and terrorist forces” and “overthrow the HTS regime.” It also called for “rebuilding state institutions on national and democratic foundations” and “establishing a unified, sovereign state consisting of all sects and ethnic groups.”
A security source cited by Al Jazeera claimed this council has received financial support from Iraqi resistance factions and Lebanon's Hezbollah, as well as logistical support from the US-backed Kurdish militia, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
Sudan has filed a case with the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against the United Arab Emirates, accusing it of complicity in genocide and other crimes against the Masalit community.
The ICJ announced the application on Thursday, stating that Sudan alleges the UAE has supported acts of genocide, murder, rape, and forced displacement carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and allied militias since at least 2023.

❗️Israeli army spokesman Daniel Hagari is set to step down from his role in the coming weeks and retire from the military, following an agreement with the new Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir.
Reports of Hagari's resignation, along with other military officials, had initially surfaced in early 2024.
❗️At dawn, hundreds of Israeli Hasidic Jews gathered to pray at the tomb of Rav Ashi, a 4th-century Babylonian Jewish rabbi, in southern Lebanon. The site, near the summit of Mount Shanan, sits directly on the Blue Line, nestled between an Israeli army post and a UNIFIL (United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon) base, overlooking the southern Lebanese village of Houla in the Marjayoun district.
UNIFIL spokesperson Kandice Adriel stated that "any unauthorized crossing of the Blue line is a violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701."
Israeli ultra-Orthodox Jews previously infiltrated the same site in mid February.

Читать полностью…⭕️ Update | Deadly clashes escalate on Syrian coast as HTS-led government forces battle armed groups associated with former Syrian army
According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), intense clashes continue to ravage Latakia, Tartous, and Jableh, with at least 71 people killed since the start of a large-scale 'security campaign' launched by HTS-forces.
Among the dead are 35 members of the HTS-led Ministry of Defense and Interior Affairs, 32 former Syrian Arab Army (SAA) fighters, and 4 civilians, with dozens more injured or missing.
The Ministry of Defense and Interior Affairs has deployed reinforcements from Idlib, Aleppo, and Hama, regaining control of Jableh while encountering fierce guerrilla attacks from gunmen entrenched in Latakia’s mountains and Jableh’s urban centers.
Meanwhile, military convoys have set ambush positions on the Tartus-Homs and Baniyas-Jableh highways, as reports emerge of executions of captured fighters on both sides. Russian forces stationed at Hmeimim Air Base have reportedly accepted the surrender of dozens of security personnel, while the general security service has imposed a 24-hour curfew across Latakia, Tartus, and Homs as the situation remains volatile.
