The Al-Nasser Salah al-Din Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Popular Resistance Committees, has mourned Ammar in an official statement, hailing him as a national figure who dedicated his life to jihad, resistance, and the establishment of Islamic resistance ideology.
Ammar, known as "Abu Ali," spent over 14 years in Israeli prisons after his arrest in 1969 and was released in a prisoner exchange deal in 1985.
While imprisoned, he co-founded the Islamic movement inside Israeli jails and became a symbol of resilience and leadership. After his release and decades of exile across Lebanon, Algeria, Tunisia, and Sudan, Ammar eventually returned to Gaza, where he continued his role in guiding resistance fighters.
The brigades affirmed that Israeli crimes and cowardly assassinations will not break the will of the Palestinian people, vowing to carry on the legacy of their fallen leaders until victory and liberation are achieved.

Following the retreat, Israeli forces shelled the village, killing several young men. A Deraa 24 correspondent reports ongoing clashes in the valley, with a military helicopter hovering overhead and reconnaissance flights intensifying as residents flee to neighboring villages.
Residents are urgently appealing for medical assistance through Daraa 24, requesting emergency teams to provide first aid to the wounded before they can be transported to hospitals. Heavy Israeli military vehicles have also been spotted mobilizing near the area.

Last week, Israel unilaterally ended the ceasefire reached in January, resuming heavy bombardments that claimed 400 Palestinian lives in a single day. On Sunday, Gaza’s Ministry of Health reported that the official death toll from Israel’s attacks since the war began in October 2023 has now surpassed 50,000.
Since 18 March, at least 792 Palestinians have been killed, though the true number is likely higher, as the health ministry states many bodies remain unrecovered.
⭕️ Dr. Hussam Abu Safia, Director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, is suffering from a serious eye injury and four broken ribs due to beatings in Israeli prisons, his lawyer Ghaid Qassem has revealed to local media.
After being held in the Sde Teiman torture camp, he was transferred to Ofer Prison, where he spent 25 days in solitary confinement and endured multiple interrogations—one lasting as long as 13 days.
Qassem says he is physically, mentally, and psychologically exhausted, and is being aggressively pressured to confess to acts he did not commit.
Despite this, his sole concern from within captivity has been the condition of Gaza’s wounded, nurses, and medical staff—and whether his 15-year-old son, killed by Israel in October 2024, had been properly buried.
He was unjustly detained at gunpoint by Israeli forces on 28 December 2024, and has been classified by Israeli authorities as an unlawful combatant, but has not yet received any court trials.
