Egypt makes new proposal for ‘weeks-long pause’ to Gaza war: Report
Hamas continues to negotiate with mediators for a return to the original ceasefire deal despite a new Israeli campaign that has killed over 700 Palestinians
❗️Gaza Civil Defense:
○ "Early Sunday morning, the Tal al-Sultan rescue team received distress calls to urgently head to Al-Hashashin, west of Rafah, following a sudden Israeli military incursion that left dozens of civilians killed and wounded, while also trapping Palestinian Red Crescent medical teams."
○ "A Civil Defense team of six emergency responders was immediately dispatched to provide humanitarian aid and rescue the wounded. However, neither our team nor the Red Crescent team has returned, and all communication with them has been lost. Their fate remains unknown—are they alive, martyred, or taken captive?"
○ "This dangerous incident places both our teams and Red Crescent medical staff at grave risk, jeopardizing the lives of approximately 50,000 displaced civilians who fled their homes and shelters, leaving them stranded without medical and humanitarian aid."
○ "We strongly warn of renewed suffering for thousands of displaced people in Rafah, who were previously forced to flee their homes and shelters on 19 January due to the ceasefire agreement but are now facing another forced displacement by the Israeli army."
○ "We also warn the Israeli occupation against continuing to besiege our rescue teams and medical staff, preventing them from fulfilling their humanitarian duties—this constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law."
○ "We hold Israel fully responsible for the lives of our missing teams and condemn the international community’s silence in the face of ongoing Israeli violations of international and humanitarian laws."
○ "We call on the sponsors of the ceasefire agreement and the International Committee of the Red Cross to immediately intervene to save our teams before it is too late and to ensure their safe return to their humanitarian mission."

Waltz’s remarks follow President Trump’s threats to hold Iran responsible for any future Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. The administration views the strikes, despite mixed effectiveness, as a disruption to a vital trade route through the Suez Canal.

"The Zionist occupation continues its crimes against our heroic prisoners, the latest of which is the martyrdom of the young detainee, Walid Khaled Ahmad (17 years old), from the town of Silwad in Ramallah Governorate, who died in Megiddo Prison due to torture and deliberate medical neglect.
As we mourn this heroic martyr, we affirm that the torture and abuse our prisoners are subjected to constitute a full-fledged war crime, violating all international and humanitarian conventions. It reflects the extremist policies of the occupation government, which resorts to slow execution as a method to kill prisoners.
We warn that the continued violations against detainees will not go unanswered. Our people and resistance remain committed to the cause of our imprisoned heroes, whose will shall never be broken by the brutality of the occupation. They remain certain that their freedom is near and inevitable.
We call on all humanitarian and human rights organizations to fulfill their responsibilities and take immediate action to pressure the occupation to halt its crimes against the prisoners. We also urge our people in the West Bank to continue their mobilization and support in defense of the prisoners and in support of our just national cause."
