❗️Statement by the Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC):
"The Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC) condemns the 'systematic Israeli incitement campaign' against journalists in the Gaza Strip and warns of severe consequences for their lives amid the increasing hostile rhetoric in Israeli media and military circles.
The center expresses deep concern over an 'intense incitement campaign' led by Hebrew-language accounts on social media, which has escalated to 'death threats' against journalists in Gaza. This raises fears that such incitement could pave the way for further assassinations of journalists.
The center notes that journalist Anas al-Sharif, Al Jazeera’s correspondent in northern Gaza, has been subjected to a systematic incitement campaign in Israeli media. Some accounts participating in this campaign are 'promoting agendas aligned with the Israeli narrative,' attempting to undermine his professional credibility and link him to Palestinian factions.
The PJPC affirms that systematic incitement campaigns against Palestinian journalists constitute a blatant violation of press freedom charters and are part of a policy of intimidation aimed at silencing voices documenting Israeli occupation violations.
The center calls on the international community, particularly UNESCO and the International Federation of Journalists, to take urgent measures to protect Palestinian journalists, prosecute those inciting violence against them, and increase financial and legal support for media workers in Palestinian territories.
It is worth noting that journalist Anas al-Sharif had previously received threats from pro-Israel accounts, according to human rights organizations.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army assassinated journalists Mohammed Mansour and Hossam Shabat in two separate airstrikes targeting areas in southern and northern Gaza earlier this week. This brings the number of Palestinian journalists killed this month to seven.
According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, over 200 journalists have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the war began on 7 October 2023—an unprecedented figure in modern conflicts. This raises serious questions about the commitment of international parties to protecting journalists in war zones."

⭕️ A Hamas government police officer was executed on video on Tuesday in north Gaza's Deir al-Balah by members of the Abu Samarah family. The killing was described by anti-Hamas activists, including Fatah activists Motaz Azaiza, Hamza al-Masry, and other figures in the diaspora, as an act of revenge for the death of their relative, Abdul Rahman Abu Samarah, allegedly at the hands of the officer, identified as Shaldan.
Following the incident, Gaza’s police said they had launched an investigation into the killing of the officer, who was reportedly “performing his duties to break up a fight that resulted in the death of a citizen from his wounds in the city of Deir al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip.”
The National Assembly of Palestinian Tribes, Clans, and Families said the initial incident in Deir al-Balah was a tragic accident, as a warning shot fired by police unintentionally struck and killed a civilian during aid distribution. The group condemned what followed as a deliberate and brutal ambush against Shaldan, carried out by individuals who exploited the situation. They described the killing as a premeditated crime that violates both religious and tribal values.
In a separate statement, the assembly warned that the security of Deir al-Balah—and the entire Gaza Strip—is a red line. It called on authorities to act decisively against those threatening stability and urged clans to avoid chaos. The group emphasized that any attack on security personnel is an attack on the foundations of the Palestinian people.
