"A new crime has been added to the long record of aggression and violations committed by the fascist Zionist occupation. Today, Palestinian journalist Mohammad Saleh al-Bardawil was martyred along with his wife and three children in a treacherous airstrike that targeted their home in Khan Younis.
The deliberate and ongoing targeting of Palestinian journalists represents a clear escalation by the government of terrorist Netanyahu in its violations of international and humanitarian law, amid disgraceful global silence and inaction, as part of the continued genocide campaign against our people in the Gaza Strip.
Since the beginning of this brutal war waged by the fascist occupation against our Palestinian people, 209 Palestinian journalists have been martyred—killed by bullets, shelling, and airstrikes from the Zionist terrorist war machine. Most of them were killed along with their families and children, clearly demonstrating the retaliatory motives and brutal deterrence goals the criminal enemy aims to send to journalists, to dissuade them from fulfilling their mission of reporting the truth about the ongoing massacre in Gaza.
These unprecedented crimes against journalists in the history of modern conflicts call for urgent action by the international community, the United Nations, and its judicial institutions to stop these attacks and hold the criminal leaders of the occupation accountable. We also call on international journalistic and media institutions to condemn this heinous crime and activate measures to boycott and isolate this rogue entity."

According to Haaretz, Likud officials and others close to Netanyahu had urged him to reverse the appointment due to Sharvit's past criticism of the judicial overhaul initiative.

“The West Bank is the heart of Israel, and we will defend it by any means necessary,” Katz declared.
Smotrich echoed the hardline stance, claiming, “Since 1967, there has never been such a transformation in the West Bank.” He added, “The government has officially recognized 28 new communities and is enforcing Israeli law in areas previously neglected.”
