⭕️ Mahir Polat, Deputy Secretary General of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, has been detained since 19 March, following early-morning police raids that also led to the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu.
Despite his critical health conditions—including recent angioplasty, six stents, hypertension, diabetes, and a history of thyroid cancer—he remains imprisoned without trial or conviction.

⭕️ French President Emmanuel Macron said he will hold a trilateral summit with Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II “in response to the Gaza emergency.”
“In response to the Gaza emergency and during my visit to Egypt at President al-Sisi’s invitation, we will hold a trilateral summit with the Egyptian president and the King of Jordan,” Macron wrote on X.
Palestinian journalist Islam Nasr al-Din Muqdad and her son Adam were killed in an Israeli airstrike last night as they awaited reunion with her daughter, who was receiving medical treatment in Egypt.
The attack targeted a home where they were sheltering in al-Amal neighborhood, west of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.

⭕️ Axios reports that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to visit the White House on Monday, 7 April.
At first, US and Israeli officials anticipated the visit would occur later in April, around 14 April.
However, talks between the White House and Netanyahu’s office on Friday led to the emergence of a plan for an earlier visit.
Both the White House and the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

❗️Earlier today, the Israeli army announced that it targeted a Syrian outpost in Quneitra that served as a headquarters for a unit of the former Syrian government's army.
The army says that its soldiers found old out of service tanks, armored personnel carriers, artillery, mortars, and rockets.
⭕️ According to the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC), Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea hosted US envoy Morgan Ortagus at his home for an in-depth discussion on both domestic and regional developments in Lebanon.
LBC reports that "The U.S. delegation and Lebanese officials stressed the need for the Lebanese state to extend its authority over all its territory, disarm Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias, secure the Syrian border, ensure full control of air and sea ports, and finalize Israel's withdrawal from remaining occupied areas in South Lebanon."
Geagea reportedly told Ortagus that that the disarmament of 'illegal armed groups' is a key demand for many in Lebanon, calling it the only route to establishing an effective and sovereign state.
