❗️Gaza Ministry of Health:

"On World Health Day... Gaza Strip without medicine and the dangerous and catastrophic consequences will add to the deteriorating health and humanitarian situation.

– 50,752 martyrs and 115,000 injured as a result of the ongoing genocide.

– 37% of medicines and 59% of medical supplies have run out.

– Surgical, intensive care, and emergency department medications are depleted to unprecedented levels amid the ongoing genocide.

– Vital hospital departments are operating on electrical generators that are at risk of shutting down due to fuel shortages, spare parts, and the destruction of most of them.

– Patients and injured people in Gaza are deprived of diagnostic imaging services due to the destruction of CT scan and MRI machines by the occupation.

– 54% of cancer and blood disease medications are out of stock, threatening patients' lives and stopping their treatment protocols.

– 40% of primary healthcare medicines and 51% of maternal and child health medications are out of stock.

– 13,000 patients and injured people have lost the opportunity for specialized treatment outside the Gaza Strip after the closure of the Rafah crossing.

– The closure of crossings and the prevention of food supplies threaten more than 2 million citizens with malnutrition and anemia, especially children.

– Ambulance crews and humanitarian teams are working within the direct targeting circle during rescue missions, with 1,300 martyred.

– 42% of childhood vaccinations are unavailable in Gaza.

– The occupation prevents the entry of polio vaccines, meaning the collapse of efforts that have lasted over the past seven months to combat the epidemic.

– Disrupted water lines increase health and environmental risks, leading to the spread of diarrhea and skin diseases.

– These dangerous indicators are placing a heavy burden on healthcare providers and require urgent action to remove the healthcare system from the targeting circle and allow the necessary medical supplies to enable teams to provide care to patients and the injured."

📝 The State of Ceasefire Negotiations as of April 7th, 2025:
For previous developments, please refer to the post from April 5th, 2025.

On April 5th, Egypt brought forward a new proposal to bridge the ceasefire deal that Hamas accepted and the counteroffer that "israel" proposed before resuming their intense bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

In the coming hours, a Hamas delegation will head to Egypt, according to Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, to discuss the proposal as well as reconciliation with Fatah (who run the Palestinian Authority).

What is the new proposal?
The terms of the proposal are largely intermediate between the two previous proposals: the release of 9 living captives, including the American soldier, three bodies of captives, and the release of 300 Palestinian prisoners (150 with life sentences), release of 2,220 Gazan detainees, and increasing the number of days of the truce to 70 days. This includes negotiations on the transition to Phase 2 negotiations (permanent ceasefire and withdrawal), opening of crossings, and information on all remaining captives. You may find the terms of the two proposals that were brought forward last week here.

"Israel" has refused to enter Phase 2 of negotiations, and in its counteroffer, stipulated that negotiations wouldn't begin until after the temporary ceasefire period, while Hamas insisted that the negotiations conclude during the period (previously offered as 40 or 50 days).

Currently, French President Macron is meeting with Egyptian and Jordanian leaders Sisi and Abdullah, while Trump and Netanyahu are meeting in Washington. Macron stated that the Palestinian Authority must lead Gaza and opposed the displacement of Gazans. Additionally, the UAE and zionist foreign ministers met yesterday.

What is the status of Hamas-Fatah reconciliation?
On Saturday, a delegation from Fatah (including Jibril Rajoub and ex-PM Mohammed Shtayyeh) made a surprise visit to Egypt, where Egypt affirmed its full support for the Palestinian Authority and rejected displacement plans. They discussed empowering the PA and fortifying Palestinian unity.

Rajoub revealed that Fatah presented a comprehensive plan for reconciliation with Hamas, the details of which were published by SkyNews yesterday (close reconciliation, adopting popular resistance, accept PLO, 1967 borders, unifying Gaza and West Bank governance). With Hamas' new meeting in Egypt, they are expected to discuss both the Egyptian ceasefire proposal and the Fatah proposal for reconciliation.

It is worth mentioning that Mahmoud Abbas pardoned former Fatah officials (i.e. US- and UAE-backed Dahlan) a few weeks ago. Dahlan maintains very close ties to the UAE and Egypt. This potentially signals a green light for control of the Gaza Strip. Most of the sectarian and anti-Hamas protests in Gaza at the end of March were led by Dahlan's people.

Relatedly, Major General Samir Faraj of Egypt revealed that Hamas handed Egypt the list of exactly 13 names of non-partisan individuals who will form the basis of the Community Support Committee that will manage the affairs of the Gaza Strip. This committee was agreed upon months ago during Fatah-Hamas meetings in Egypt, and it was agreed that its reference would be the government in Ramallah. This came after all other factions except Fatah previously agreed to the formation of a unity government that included all factions.

With a Hamas delegation heading to Egypt and critical international meetings underway, the negotiations continue actively on two fronts.

⭕️ Israel now controls over 50% of the Gaza Strip, expanding its occupation significantly since resuming its genocidal war last month.

The army has demolished large areas near the border, turning towns and farmland into uninhabitable zones.

Human rights groups warn this military buffer zone, now doubled in size, could be used for long-term control—especially as Prime Minister Netanyahu says Israel will maintain security control in Gaza and encourage Palestinians to leave.
