The talks follow Israeli airstrikes on Syrian military sites, including one in Homs where Turkiye was reportedly preparing drone deployments. Israel confirmed efforts to establish a deconfliction mechanism. While both sides have expressed a desire to avoid confrontation, Israel remains wary of Turkish presence near its border.
Fidan added that Turkiye does not attack unless provoked but will act if instability in neighboring countries poses a threat. He dismissed the idea of US mediation, stating that continued normalization between Turkiye and Israel depends on Israel halting its Gaza policies, which he said are based on “civilian deaths and destruction.”

Washington 'vetoes' Gulf funds for Lebanon reconstruction: Report
The World Bank estimates Lebanon needs $11 billion for reconstruction and recovery due to the ongoing Israeli war on the country
⭕️ Gaza – The Palestinian NGOs Network confirmed in its latest report that at least two million people have been forcibly displaced in the Gaza Strip due to the Israeli aggression, with residents forced to flee dozens of times under relentless bombing.
The report added that the Israeli occupation is planning to establish detention camps to confine the displaced as a prelude to their expulsion.
The network stressed that the ongoing siege, now in its 40th day, has prevented the entry of basic necessities such as food, medicine, and water, leaving Gaza facing mass extermination through bombing and starvation.
The report also pointed out that 60,000 children are at risk of disease due to famine, while the occupation refuses to vaccinate children against dangerous illnesses—posing a biological threat to the population in the strip.
