⭕️ “I believe there will be no deal with the Iranians. We need to give Trump a few more weeks to see that his pressure doesn’t work—then we can act forcefully, with the backing of our most important ally. We must not tell the Americans that we can’t wait—doing so harms us.”
Dr. Dan Diker, head of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, warns that attacking Iran prematurely could alienate the United States, Israel’s key ally.
While acknowledging a rare opportunity to hit Iran’s nuclear program, Diker argued that acting without US backing would be a strategic mistake. Instead, he urges tactical patience on Israel's part.

⭕️ Qatar’s $7 billion Syria electricity deal faces hurdles as grid crumbles under looting and neglect
Qatar has committed to supporting Syria’s reconstruction, but its $7 billion plan to build new power plants will have limited impact unless Damascus can curb the widespread theft of power cables by armed groups, outpacing the government's ability to repair the grid.
Currently, about two-thirds of the grid is either destroyed or in need of major repairs. The Energy Ministry estimates the cost of restoration at $5.5 billion, making external investment or donor support essential.
The agreement, unveiled last week by an international consortium led by Qatar's UCC Holdings, aims to significantly boost Syria’s electricity generation capacity.
It represents the largest foreign investment in Syria since US President Donald Trump lifted US sanctions on Damascus last month.
