❗️Erdogan: Russia and Ukraine 'not yet ready' for meeting on peace
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said he explored ways to end the war in Ukraine with Russia’s Vladimir Putin during talks in China and spoke by phone with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky, but noted that the parties are "not yet ready" for a leaders’ meeting.
Erdogan told reporters aboard his plane returning from China that he had met with Putin and subsequently called Zelensky. He added that recent talks between Russian and Ukrainian officials in Istanbul indicate that a path to peace remains open.
The president said Turkiye supports "raising the level of negotiations gradually" to turn peace prospects into concrete outcomes, emphasizing that any initiative would ultimately require leaders’ involvement, though conditions for such a meeting are not yet in place.

US President Donald Trump said in an interview released on Monday by the Daily Caller, that while Israel “may be winning the war, but they’re not winning the world of public relations.”
Trump also said that “They’re (Israel) gonna have to get that war over with … It is hurting Israel.”
At the same time, Trump has voiced support for Israel’s plan to invade Gaza City, stressing in recent weeks that Jerusalem must “finish the job” against Hamas and arguing that the group will only release the remaining captives once it is defeated.
Asked in the interview if he was concerned about declining support for Israel in the US, including among Republicans, Trump replied: “I’m aware of it.”

UN Security Council permanent members China and Russia sided with Iran in opposing a European initiative to reinstate UN sanctions on Tehran that had been eased a decade ago under a nuclear agreement.
A letter signed by the foreign ministers of China, Russia, and Iran argued that the attempt by Britain, France, and Germany to reimpose sanctions through a so-called "snapback mechanism" was "legally and procedurally flawed."
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi published the letter on X, stating that the actions of Britain, France, and Germany "abuses the authority and functions of the UN Security Council."

Palestinians in the occupied West Bank are experiencing acute water shortages, which they attribute to escalating attacks on limited water resources by extremist Jewish settlers. Across Palestinian communities, residents report dry household taps and farms left without irrigation.
The UN documented 62 incidents in the first six months of 2025 in which Jewish settlers vandalized water wells, pipelines, irrigation systems, and other water-related infrastructure in the West Bank. The Israeli military confirmed receiving multiple reports of settlers deliberately damaging water infrastructure but stated that no suspects have been identified.
Targets have included a freshwater spring and a water distribution station in Ein Samiya, about 16 km (10 miles) northeast of Ramallah, which supplies water to roughly 20 nearby Palestinian villages and several city neighborhoods.

❗️Israel moves EU diaspora bond approval from Ireland to Luxembourg
Israel has shifted the process of obtaining EU approval for its diaspora bond prospectus from Ireland to Luxembourg, following growing opposition in Dublin to the Irish central bank’s role in endorsing the program on behalf of the European Union.
Israel’s diaspora bonds are relatively modest in scale and are primarily sold within Jewish communities worldwide to supplement the state’s bond sales, which fund its budget deficit that has increased due to the war. The country launched a diaspora bond campaign in October 2023 to raise funds amid its genocide on Gaza.
Non-EU countries must select one EU member state to apply to for approval of a prospectus for securities traded in the EU, and Ireland’s central bank had been asked to approve Israel’s diaspora bond program annually since 2021.
