The recent decision by Lebanon’s Council of Ministers to work toward disarming Hezbollah by the end of 2025 was a fundamental one.
This decision represents an opportunity for Lebanon to restore its sovereignty and rebuild state institutions, the army, and governance, without interference or influence from non-state actors.
In light of this significant development, Israel is prepared to support Lebanon in its efforts to disarm Hezbollah and to work together toward a safer and more stable future for both countries.
If the Lebanese security forces take steps to disarm Hezbollah, Israel will in turn take reciprocal steps, including a gradual reduction of IDF presence in coordination with the United States.
Now is the time for Israel and Lebanon to move forward in a spirit of cooperation, focusing on the shared goal of disarming Hezbollah and enhancing stability and prosperity in both countries."

Our military operations in support of Gaza will not stop, God willing, until the aggression ends and the siege is lifted.
The targeting of a civilian fuel station on a main street will certainly have no impact on military operations; rather, it exposes the brutality and bankruptcy of the Israeli enemy and will only bring upon it further escalation. ⭕️ Iran, EU3 to resume nuclear talks in Geneva as Abbas Araghchi warns against snapback
According to Tasnim News, Iran and the European troika (UK, France, and Germany) will hold a new round of nuclear talks in Geneva on August 26, led by Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht Ravanchi. The discussions will focus on nuclear issues and lifting sanctions.
Ahead of the talks, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned the Europeans that any attempt to trigger the JCPOA’s snapback mechanism would be legally baseless and have serious consequences, stressing they lack authority to invoke it, while the EU3 and the EU’s foreign policy chief reaffirmed their commitment to diplomacy.
⭕️ The UN Security Council is set to vote on Monday on a French-backed draft resolution extending UNIFIL’s mandate in southern Lebanon until August 2026, amid opposition from the US and Israel.
The resolution points to a gradual plan for UNIFIL’s withdrawal, with the Lebanese government ultimately becoming the sole guarantor of security in the south.
The debate over UNIFIL’s future is unfolding as Beirut prepares a controversial plan to disarm Hezbollah by year’s end; an initiative firmly rejected by the Lebanese resistance movement.
The draft text also condemns attacks on UNIFIL, referencing Israeli strikes on its facilities without naming Israel directly. UN officials warned that a rapid drawdown would destabilize the border, stressing that UNIFIL’s presence and support for the Lebanese army remain “crucial” for maintaining stability along the Blue Line.
❗️Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir said the army’s actions in Gaza have created the conditions for a prisoner exchange deal and urged the government to accept the current US-backed “Witkoff framework.”
Speaking at the Haifa naval base, Zamir reportedly told colleagues that “now it’s in Netanyahu’s hands,” warning that pressing deeper into Gaza City would endanger the captives’ lives.
While Hamas has signaled approval of a phased-release plan, senior Israeli officials say that proposal is no longer relevant. Prime Minister Netanyahu is expected to convene the security cabinet this week to decide on the next round of negotiations, though the location and composition of the talks remain undecided.

"The EU once again deeply regrets the decision… This decision may impact the functioning of the Office of the Prosecutor and ongoing investigations,” she said in a statement.
Kallas affirmed the bloc’s “firm” support for the Court, stressing: “Attacks or threats against the Court, elected officials, personnel and those cooperating with the Court are not acceptable. The ICC must be able to work independently and impartially.
”She urged states to ensure “full cooperation” with the ICC and said Brussels is monitoring the sanctions’ impact and may take “further steps.”
