OPEC+ has agreed in principle to raise oil production by 137,000 barrels per day in October, beginning to unwind 1.66 million bpd in voluntary cuts that were supposed to last until 2026. The move reflects a sharp policy shift from defending prices to regaining market share, coming after crude prices fell 12% this year under pressure from US trade tariffs and rising supply.
The eight core members, Saudi Arabia, Russia, the UAE, Iraq, Kuwait, Algeria, Oman, and Kazakhstan, have already boosted output by nearly 550,000 bpd last month, restoring more than half of the planned 2.46 million bpd increase in just four months. Still, actual production may fall short of targets, as several members lack spare capacity or face pressure from earlier oversupply, highlighting the challenges of balancing output growth with price stability.

‼️ Netanyahu boasts 100,000 have fled Gaza City as Israel intensifies assault
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announces that Israeli occupation forces are "deepening [their] maneuver" inside Gaza City,” boasting of demolishing “terror infrastructure” and “incriminated towers.” He added that Israel had created another so-called “humanitarian area” to push civilians out, saying around 100,000 Palestinians have already left Gaza City.
❗️Gaza Ministry of Health reports:
– 5 deaths in the past 24 hours due to famine and malnutrition, including 3 children.
This brings the total deaths from malnutrition since October 2023 to 387, among them 138 children.
– 87 people killed in Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.
Among them, 31 were killed while seeking aid, raising the total number of those killed while seeking aid to 2,416.
⭕️ On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Egypt is “imprisoning” Palestinians in Gaza who want to flee through Rafah, after Cairo condemned his remarks suggesting Palestinians could leave the Strip if the crossing were opened.
Egypt’s foreign ministry rejected the comments as an attempt to prolong instability and avoid responsibility for Israeli crimes in Gaza.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty called displacement a “red line,” warning it would mean “the end of the Palestinian cause,” and reiterated that Israel is committing genocide and mass starvation.
Qatar, which is also mediating ceasefire talks, echoed Egypt’s condemnation, saying Netanyahu’s statements reflected Israel’s ongoing effort to uproot Palestinians and block any path to peace.
❗️SOHR: Death toll in Suwayda exceeds 2,000 after July massacres, clashes
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the number of documented deaths from the July attacks by government forces and Bedouin tribes on the Druze province of Suwayda has risen to 2,026.
Among the newly recovered victims are five people who had been missing since 16 July, whose bodies were found in Damascus hospitals, as well as seven individuals, including one woman, executed by Defense and Interior Ministry forces during the 13 July assault.
SOHR added that searches for the missing are ongoing and the toll is expected to climb further, while new ceasefire violations continue in Suwayda’s countryside, with armed groups carrying out heavy fire.
⭕️ Modi downplays rift after Trump tariffs, reaffirms ‘very positive’ US-India partnership
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi moved to downplay tensions with Washington on Saturday, reaffirming that India and the US enjoy a “very positive and forward-looking strategic partnership.” His comments followed President Donald Trump’s attempt to walk back remarks suggesting India had been “lost” to China after Modi recently joined Russian and Chinese leaders at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit.
The two allies have hit turbulence in recent weeks after the Trump administration slapped tariffs of up to 50 percent on Indian imports, accusing New Delhi of fueling Russia’s war in Ukraine by buying discounted oil. While expressing disappointment at those purchases, Trump insisted he remains close to Modi, stressing that “India and the United States have a special relationship” and that there is “nothing to worry about.”
❗️PPS: Israel using new prison weapons to systematically target and kill Palestinian detainees
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) has warned that Israel’s introduction of new weapons inside its prisons, including electric stun guns and rubber-coated bullets, signals a deliberate policy to harm and kill Palestinian detainees.
PPS head Abdullah al-Zighari said prisoners’ testimonies confirm these weapons are being used during suppression raids, treating detainees as “testing grounds.” He stressed this escalation reflects systematic crimes and unprecedented violations of international law, holding Israel fully responsible for the fate of thousands of prisoners.
Zighari urged the international community to act, warning that states supplying Israel with political and military backing are complicit in a genocide now exceeding 700 days.
❗️Israel has killed 74 Palestinians in attacks across the Gaza Strip since dawn today, including 53 in Gaza City and northern Gaza Strip, and 36 who were seeking aid, according to medical sources.

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammad Shia al-Sudani announced that Baghdad has begun work to reactivate the Iraqi-Syrian oil export line as part of a broader push to diversify export routes and expand refining capacity.
Speaking at the Baghdad International Energy Forum, he highlighted progress on the Basra–Haditha pipeline (approved at the start of 2025), plans to end gas flaring by fully using 1.3 billion cubic feet per day, and major refinery expansions including Karbala.
Sudani said Iraq aims to convert 40 percent of its crude into higher-value products by 2030, positioning the country to better match its reserves and productive capacity with global market demand.
❗️Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi’s op-ed for The Guardian: 'A message from Tehran for Britain, France and Germany: You made a big mistake reimposing sanctions – pull back'
In his piece, Araghchi argues that Europe has shifted from being a moderating voice in the Iran nuclear issue to becoming an enabler of US pressure. He slams Britain, France, and Germany for triggering the UN “snapback” sanctions mechanism despite their own failure to honor the 2015 deal, and for refusing to condemn illegal US strikes against Iran, while ignoring the root cause — Washington’s withdrawal.
Regarding Israel, Araghchi says despite the fact that Israel presents itself as capable of conducting war on behalf of the west, the Iranian armed forces will, as they did in June, "pummel Israel into running to 'daddy' to be bailed out."
He warns the E3 are pursuing short-sighted relevance by bending to Trump’s demands, which will backfire and erode their credibility. Despite this, Araghchi says Iran remains open to a realistic bargain — oversight and curbs in exchange for lifting sanctions — while stressing that attempts to force disarmament or military strikes will be met with strong resistance.
If Europe truly wants a diplomatic solution, and if President Trump wants the bandwidth to focus on real issues that are not manufactured in Tel Aviv, they need to give diplomacy the time and space that it needs to succeed. The alternative is not likely to be pretty.Читать полностью…
