my python implementation of NCPDP D.0 billing transmission strings... NCPDP has all their documentation behind a paywall so building it out consisted of decompiling the pharmacy software PrimeRX and looking at how they do it.
Could save someone some time if they ever have to start using D.0 and their company are cheapo's like mine and won't buy the docs
for deeper understanding see how descriptors work in python

thanks for your feedback
I agree with your point.
the package is in its early stages and the docs are clumsy, to make it clear this package provides some abstract data structures and implementations of them for some common useful types in python to make it easy for people with functional programming background to code in functional style easier in Python. In fact the package is heavily inspired by Haskell standard library dataclasses and is targeted for Haskell programmers who want to bring haskelish patterns into Python world. I doubt any regular python programmer will ever use it.
The current readme page is planned to become a booklet for teaching functional programming using python, but I need other people willing to contribute for it to become possible.
Also there used to be a functional programming group in the devs network, I could not find the group can anyone send the group link to me?
also readme is like 1K+ lines long, not a soul would read it or write that much - better leave icon + small description + 2-5 examples in readme and everything else move to docs generated via mkdocs or similar

at work i use AI (copilot) for coding every day, almost every task - because of the demand for productivity... but on personal projects I refrain from using it besides for planning

Can you explain what looks like AI?
The text is paraphrased using AI for better readability I see no problem in using AI for this purpose.
If you have any comments or points about the package I will be happy to answer.
These days you can say gpts to not use em dashes or other characteristic AI text telltales

though is_valid_interest_rate is static method how it works when we use self.is_valid_interest_rate

Hey everyone! I’ve been working on Katharos, a library designed to bring some of the best functional programming concepts—like Monads, Applicatives, Functors, and other Algebraic structures—into the Python ecosystem.
If you’ve ever wanted to handle errors without try/except nesting or manage None values more elegantly using Maybe or Result types, this is for you.
Key Features:
Algebraic Structures: Support for Semigroups, Monoids, Applicatives, Functors and Monads.
Fully Typed: Built with modern Python type hints for better IDE support.
Implementation of useful functional data structures:
Useful data structures such as immutable list, Result for error handling, Maybe, etc are implemented with their corresponding algebraic implementations
Current Status:
The package is currently in its early stages and is under active development. I’m looking for early adopters and fellow functional programming enthusiasts to help shape its direction.
How you can help:
Give it a spin in your side projects.
Check out the repo:

Feedbacks, bug reports, and PRs are highly welcomed and appreciated!
chances of finding iranians here is extremely low, also isnt there a blackout rn?
