I have some thoughts on the AirTag, if you use it on your pets collar, you will want to read this.
The AirTag ONLY works if it has signal to ping off of. We live in a very rural area now, so the AirTag was not something that worked for us.
We got 1 ping the whole time she was gone and it was a false ping that had us about 2 miles from where she was found.
It may be something that works in a more residential area, with tons of houses, but for us we are switching to GPS collars!
And yes I’m aware I went way nuts to find my dog - I would do it again! If you ever lose a dog in an area of brush or a vast expanse of land (we have 1000s of acres of rough terrain around us) I would def recommend thermal drones! We would not have found our dog without it

Thanks to everyone who asked about Riley! I posted on my stories yesterday about her being missing - we found her last night!
Her wild 48 hour adventure ended around 2am when we found her with a thermal drone!
I had posted about the whole thing on my IG stories, she got out at 9am on Thursday. We looked for miles Thursday, with Greg and I covering hundreds of acres.
Thursday night I found a guy with a thermal drone who came out and looked for several hours. No luck.
Friday morning I had a search dog out to help look, no luck.
Friday night we had the thermal drone guy back out, and he knew another guy with one too - we finally spotted her and as soon as she was found on the drone we booked it.
She was a little over a mile from home in a cow pasture covered in stickers & a skunk had sprayed her so she doesn’t smell great, but she is super happy to be home and healthy!
