It is true that one can often 'follow the money' when analysing a situation. However, in some cases, and for some actors, it is not about the money, but about sending a message.
This is true for the Joker, for Yours Truly, and for 'woke' companies.
So, when certain companies spend a fortune on a 'woke' campaign, they do not necessarily do so for any financially logical reason. They do it to impose their will and vision on the world. I do the same (seek to impose my vision on the world), which explains many decisions I have taken over the years.
Amazon's 'The Rings of Power' is a good example of this. It is, again, not about the money, but about sending a message – in this case the message is that the age of the White man is over.
The production is simply put a very expensive humiliation-ritual.
It does not make sense financially, but it makes perfect sense when viewing it from an ideological perspective.
Thus, 'woke' companies are not only doing it (i.e. woke marketing-campaigns) to attract a larger customer-base, but to impose their vision on the world. This is not to say that they are not out for a profit – they are – but they are also willing to take a financial loss for ideological reasons.
Another aspect is that many employees in these companies are Left-wing extremists, and as such care more about ideology and less about profit (which is the responsibility of the leadership).
Moreover, it is always good to be on the same side as the reigning ideology of a society – lest the witch hunters come calling.
There are, of course, many factors at play here, but important to point out is that money is just a means to an end; for those without a vision, this end is a nice car and pleasure – for those with a vision, it is about furthering one's cause.

10 yo girl stabbed in the stomach by migrant
Today in broad daylight in central Gothenburg, Sweden:
In what seems to be a completely random act of violence, a man with Middle Eastern appearance stabbed a 10 yo girl in the stomach. Passers-by managed to detain the man until police arrived.
According to reports to a journalist, the man was screaming ”Allahu akbar” while stabbing the girl.

The Prince by Machiavelli was actually not on my immediate to-read-list, but this edition looked too aesthetic to not get.
The book contains common-sense advice. Definitely not the diabolical work many portray it as – the most recurring advice is about the importance of not being hated.

🇸🇪Regarding recent developments in AfS (Alternative for Sweden).
The split (several board-members left) was due to unexciting things such as differing opinions regarding administrative technicalities and finances. Thus, there is no drama to speak of.
Since I do not know the ins and outs of this particular situation, I will just share the following take in regard to leadership and finances (so this may or may not be relevant to the situation at hand):
Saving the Swedish people is either the highest purpose of all, or it is a hobby. A hobby is something you do on the side. Taking things seriously, on the other hand, requires one's political work to be a full-time profession. I want professionals to fight on behalf on my children's future.
Gustav Kasselstrand (in this case) should, optimally speaking, not have to worry about anything except for developing the party to the best of his abilities. This takes time. Time is money. Therefore, he must have a full-time employment by the party. Anything else is unreasonable.
A large issue related to this is, of course, that there are so many wealthy Swedish men (and there are plenty of them) who do not extend their financial support to initiatives like Alternative for Sweden. It takes money to make things happen politically.
I am not a party leader, but as an aspiring Philosopher Prince, I spare no expenses when it comes to optimising my health and mental acuity (we spend a lot of money on good, nutritious food – and not much on anything else).
I endeavour to make my mind as sharp as possible. I view that as my duty as an agent of European civilisation. Pleasant or unpleasant, I do what I can and must to optimise my chances to enact change in the long-term. This takes time and money.
I am tired of the loser martyr-mentality that says that a political actor or leader must live like a monk. The duty of a leader is not to live like a monk, but to bring victory, to make the correct decisions, to set the course and set the pace.
I am always reluctant to share news like this, but sometimes it is good to remind ourselves of the righteousness of our cause.
Needless to say, after regime change, nightmares like this will no longer happen.
