Not everything was completely changed in England after the Conquest of England. Many of the established laws that had been written by Edward the Confessor, William the Conqueror's cousin, remained in place.
Women who held property were not dispossessed, but were allowed as widows to live out their lives on their own land. Accordingly, the laws provided women with legal recourse against a male assailant. For example, any man who assaulted a woman would be castrated.
Additionally, the Coronation Charter of Henry I in 1100 provided more protection for women, especially widows. It specified that all marriages were required to have the King's permission and that widows would be given their rightful marriage settlement and dowry. Moreover, the charter stated that widows would not be forced to marry against their will.

TGO ran a poll on whether the PIE speakers should be called Aryan or IE and the responses reveal how confused most people are about why the shift happened.
Early on in IE studies there was an erroneous belief that Sanskrit was the most archaic of all IE languages and that it therefore represented an early break from PIE. But this was corrected in the 19th c. when people pointed out that is just because Vedic Sanskrit, as a liturgical language, is preserved in the Bronze age form. Hindi is actually less conservative than Icelandic or Lithuanian and the ancestors of those languages at the time the Rigveda was composed were most likely more archaic than Vedic. Now everyone knows Proto-Indo-Iranic (PII) is not an early break-off from PIE at all but emerged about 1000 years AFTER PIE was spoken.
But because we know the speakers of PII referred to themselves as Aryans, there emerged a trend among academics early on to conflate PIE and PII and refer to the speakers of both as Aryans. J. G. Rhode in 1820 posited the theory that the Aryans came from Central Asia (which was correct) but this meant, due to contemporary assumptions, that people also thought PIE was from Central Asia, and this erroneous belief persisted among academics for some 50 years and among less learned folks for far longer. Many Indo-Europeanists; Grimm, Muller, Pott, Lassen, Schleicher believed PIE came from Asia until the tide changed when Dr Latham in 1851 posited that PIE came from Europe. Subsequent scholarship has vindicated Latham but it has taken a long time to prove that Ukraine is the real homeland of PIE.
Once we learned that PIE was European, the Asiatic term Aryan became inappropriate to describe them. The Nazis used it, but Nazis also believed in silly Asian origin ideas that were already disproven in their time. “Aryan” was still used by scholars such as Issac Taylor to refer to PIE people as recently as 1892 in his book ‘Origin of the Aryans’, although he begins the book with an entire chapter on ‘the Aryan controversy’ where he explains why the term Aryan is no longer appropriate to refer to PIE.
The PII (Sintashta and Andronovo cultures) called themselves Aryans and are an important historic culture which it is useful to refer to with this word. Calling their ancestors in Europe from 1000 years earlier, by a PII word, even if it has a PIE origin, is like calling Bell Beakers “Romans” or calling the British “Americans”.
This isn’t about political correctness or the Nazis, this is about using a word that makes sense. When you say ‘Aryan’, you not only look like a Neo-Nazi, you also look like you don’t understand the field of IE studies at all. Very, very bad idea to promote this.

"Enlightened One, Christianity and the Crusades. How explain?"
To understand the Crusades, one has to understand the rigorous Germanisation Christianity underwent when it came into contact with the ascendant Germanic tribes in Europe in the early Middle Ages (sometimes erroneously called the Dark Ages).
Christianity was first reformed when it came into contact with the Graeco-Roman world, so it was an already Indo-Europeanised Christianity that met the Germanic tribes.
Daniel S. Forrest states it beautifully in Suprahumanism:
"It was through its exposure to the vigorous peoples of Germania that Christianity was additionally transformed into a heroic faith: a faith which upheld pagan martial virtues in the spiritualised form of chivalry, and that was capable of launching crusades against Islam.
It was this Germanised Christianity that gave birth to such figures as St. George, and whose spirit was captured so beautifully by Albrecth Dürer in his masterly artworks."
Another profound insight by Forrest is the following:
"Thus, Catholic Christianity, in both Northern and Southern Europe, turned during the medieval times into a different, syncretic religion as a result of encountering Greco-Roman and Celto-Germanic culture.
The pagan component of this religion, though usually unacknowledged, remained strong for a long time, and it is this syncretic religion that people think of when they speak of 'traditional Christianity.'"
Understanding the Military Orders – the Templars, Hospitallers, Teutonic Knights – can also be done when viewing them as a spiritual heir to the Indo-European Männerbund. Initiatic orders embarking upon a temporal and spiritual war is, to quote a wise man, very Indo-European (whether it is a Kóryos wolf-cult dedicated to Odin or a Crusader Order).
Saint Bernard of Clairvaux said the following:
‘Whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. What a glory it is for you to emerge from the battle crowned with victory! But what a greater glory it is to win on the battlefield an immortal crown… What a truly blessed condition, when one can wait for death without any fear, yearning for it and welcoming it with a strong spirit!’
This passage can only be understood in the context of Indo-European spirituality.
Thus, to conclude, the Crusades were an enterprise fully imbued with the Indo-European spirit. That they wore crosses does not, in our humble opinion, make it into a Christian endeavour.
Clarifying my position on Christianity.
I am a friend of those who work for the good of European civilisation. This is my primary consideration, everything else is secondary.
Similarly, I do not believe a single supporter of mine cares what religion I am (Pagan, Christian, Buddhist, Atheist, etc.). For them, too, the primary consideration is my work for European civilisation.
The Pagan-Christian divide is largely an online phenomenon, and as interesting it is to discuss and debate these matters, the average person who lives in Gotham City just wants regime change – regardless of religion.
As for my own religious preferences:
Paganism > Christianity > Atheism.
Which means that I prefer Paganism to Christianity, and prefer Christianity to Atheism (unless we are talking about particularly obnoxious Christians that is).
I have good friends that are Christian. They have to endure me bantsMAXXing them by saying that Krishna is more powerful than Christ. And I have to endure them asking when I will accept Christ. This is all in good fun.
There are two issues that trigger my autism greatly, however. Thus, I will refute those by stating the following:
1. Christianity does not have a monopoly on God. Christianity is not the only "true" way of knowing God.
2. European civilisation is a lot older than Christianity. This is much easier to accept when you are red-pilled on biology (i.e. when you understand that biology creates society, and not the other way around).
Athens is more important than Jerusalem.
The European spirit that would give rise to European civilisation is truly ancient (I must study and meditate more upon the matter). How old is the Indo-European Sky-Father? I do not know, but suffice to say that these Gods have been with us for a lot longer than Christianity.
On a related note: can Christianity unify Europe? Perhaps it did at one stage, but since Europe is already split in Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox, I do not see how it would serve as a unifying factor going forward.
Perhaps a return to the Indo-European pantheon is the path forward (but this is a topic for another time).
Lastly, I always show respect to Christ, since I know he has been an important individual for many of my ancestors, and he is an important individual to many good men and women even today.
