🟡 “Nearly 13 million Syrians are still acutely food insecure,” said UN emergency relief coordinator Tom Fletcher. Fletcher highlighted the need for more aid for the people in Syria.

🟡 The de-facto authorities in Syria’s capital, Damascus, have concluded what they called a five-day “security operation” in the city of Homs. More than 650 people have been arrested in total, and numerous weapons depots reportedly intercepted.
🟡 The first commercial flight to Syria landed today at the Damascus International Airport for the first time since the overthrow of the Assad government on December 8. The plane belonged to the Royal Jordanian Airlines and departed from Qatar on what was described as a “test flight” to Syria.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) and its forces already have a long history of oppressing Palestinians. But now, since it launched its operation against the Jenin camp in early December, the PA’s security forces have even come to mirror some of Israel’s tactics.
PA forces surrounded the camp with armored vehicles, fired indiscriminately at civilians, and cut off water and electricity supplies.
