Summary of the highlights of the first speech of the new Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Kassem:
🟡 My work program consists of continuing Nasrallah's agenda […] We will continue the war. Resistance is what has stopped and will stop Israel in the past and future.
🟡 “Hezbollah has recovered. Our party is strong and cohesive.”
🟡 “We are facing a new Zionist project. This is a Zionist-American-European war to put an end to the resistance and our peoples in the region.”
🟡 “We have the capabilities and are prepared for any possibility, even for a long war.”
🟡 “90 dead and 750 wounded in the Israeli army, 38 tanks destroyed, and 4 drones destroyed, […] all without even advancing on land.”
🟡 “Israelis, you will lose soon. The land is ours. Leave our land to incur fewer losses. If you stay, you will pay a heavy price.”
🟡 “If Israel decides to stop the aggression, we will accept the agreements only on our terms. We will continue to fight until then.”

Residents of the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe have started rioting, erecting barricades as cost of living protests sweep across Guadeloupe and nearby Martinique.
Previously, Guadeloupe experienced a major blackout, leaving 380,000 without power. Authorities blamed striking energy workers for allegedly blocking engines at the Jarry power station.
In response, the government has imposed nightly curfews on Guadeloupe to “ensure a rapid return to normal.”

This past week, the RSF did more of what it has already done throughout Sudan in the state of Aj Jazirah: raped, looted, burned, and murdered people. They allegedly carried out this massacre as revenge for the recent surrender of a high-ranking RSF officer, Abuagla Keikal.
The RSF has been pillaging Aj Jazirah, south of the capital Khartoum, for months already. Residents of the Sharafat Alhalaween village recounted how RSF fighters went door to door, taking money and valuables and seizing vehicles.
At least 46,500 people were displaced from Aj Jazirah. Since the war started a year and a half ago, more than 11 million people have been displaced throughout Sudan. 25.6 million people are on the brink of famine, and medics say the true death toll from the war in Sudan could be upwards of 150,000.

While performing traditional Indigenous Aztec dances, an effigy of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu atop a sign for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee was burned in New Mexico. “Dismantling AIPAC and the liberation of the sovereign people of Palestine” was the theme for this year’s annual burning of the El Kookooee. The El Kookooee is the end of the Festival of Autumn and represents a boogeyman.

Working on his release, the Leonard Peltier Official Ad Hoc Committee published a press release calling on the US Senate Judiciary Committee to allow Peltier an emergency medical transfer to receive adequate care.
Peltier has spent almost 50 years behind bars for a crime he says he did not commit. In 1977, he was wrongfully convicted of aiding and abetting the killing of two FBI agents in Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota. The evidence used to convict Peltier was very controversial, and his trial was ripe with irregularities. Many believe his imprisonment is retribution for his leadership in the Native American liberation movement.
In June 2024, he was denied parole and won’t be eligible for another hearing until June 2026. Given Peltier’s age and his health, the state will likely succeed in killing him via attrition.

Pro-Palestine activists in Spain are facing persecution after the neo-fascist VOX party filed a lawsuit accusing the Palestinian prisoners’ rights charity Samidoun of “terrorism.”
One of the activists, Jaldía Abubakra, spoke to red. media about what they’re facing for supporting Samidoun, an international organization to support Palestinian political prisoners.
Two weeks ago, the Canadian and US governments declared Samidoun as a terrorist front linked to Palestinian resistance factions. The campaign to criminalize Palestine solidarity is deepening across the global north.

A shocking video shows the Greek Coast Guard driving towards inflatable boats carrying refugees and ramming them near the shores of the island of Lesbos. The incident appears to be an illegal pushback, forcing refugees to return to Turkish waters. Such forcible returns of people seeking refuge constitute a clear violation of the Geneva Convention, to which Greece, along with all EU member states, is a signatory.
Over the years, numerous complaints have been lodged regarding Greek authorities’ involvement in forced pushbacks and violence against asylum seekers. On Greek islands, refugees often denounce harsh treatment, including the confiscation of possessions, physical assault, handcuffing, strip-searches, and forced expulsion back to sea.

Georgians came out in their thousands to protest the recent electoral victory by the ruling party, the Georgian Dream. The Pro-West President, Salome Zourabichvili, said recognizing the elections would cement the “Russian takeover of Georgia.”
The US and EU have called for investigations into voter suppression and other irregularities, while Russia denied any role in the election. In August, Russia argued that the US was preparing a “Tblisi Maidan,” reminiscent of the 2014 US-backed coup in Ukraine.
The Georgian Dream party was founded by billionaire Ivanishvili, whose assets equaled 25% of the country’s GDP in 2023. The party is formally seeking EU membership but simultaneously maintains relations with Russia and is strengthening ties with China. Ivanishvili has said he would ban the opposition if his party won the election.

Türkiye has sharply intensified attacks on Kurdish-controlled regions in Northeast Syria and Iraq’s Kurdistan Region, launching over 100 airstrikes and reported ground assaults across border areas. Local sources report at least a dozen civilian deaths from strikes on homes, oil facilities, and factories.
This escalation follows an attack on Türkiye’s aerospace industry headquarters in Ankara, which left five dead and 22 injured.
While the Kurdish militant group PKK has claimed responsibility for the Ankara attack, Türkiye’s intensive strikes on Kurdish positions in Syria and Iraq had already begun prior to this claim.

Presenters at the right-wing GB News station are advocating a Victorian-era line in response, calling for formerly colonized countries to thank the UK for bringing them “civilization.”
