Yemen was officially declared an independent country on this day 57 years ago. Yemen’s independence day was the conclusion to four years of armed struggle led primarily by the leftist National Liberation Front (NLF) and the Arab nationalist Front for the Liberation of Occupied South Yemen.
From 1963 to 1967, the NLF led an arduous two-pronged struggle against both British colonial forces as well as the feudal sheikhdoms and sultanates in power all across what was then the Federation of South Arabia, a British colonial protectorate.
Throughout November 1967, the British colonial forces gradually evacuated Aden and Southern Yemen as NLF forces drew closer. Mutinies in the puppet “South Arabia Army” were rampant and frequent, and on the 29th of November 1967, the final agreement for independence was signed in Geneva. The independence agreement took effect the forthcoming day.

The Panama Canal has a dark history. The entire area was under the colonial control of the United States, where a brutal Jim Crow system of racial segregation and exploitation was applied to the workforce. Thousands of people died as a result of dire conditions.

What do Palestinians in Gaza think about the agreement between Lebanese resistance and Israel? red. media spoke directly with people on the ground.
Many recognize and appreciate the support and sacrifices Lebanon has paid for its support of Gaza, but wonder why Gaza was not part of the agreement.
Hezbollah’s support to Gaza has been significant in reducing pressure on Gaza and dragging the Israeli military’s focus and weight to the north. Now with that pressure being reduced, Israel could intensify its genocidal war on Gaza even more.

The Biden government has announced yet another set of sanctions against Venezuela, for the second time since losing the elections. In response, President Maduro announced that he would award a medal to the individuals being targeted by the US.
The new round of sanctions targets government officials and military leaders who the US says are responsible for organizing the June 28 presidential elections in the country.
The medal that President Maduro created is named after the Battle of Ayacucho, in memory of the battle that marked the turning point in the struggle for independence against Spanish colonialism.

Happy 204th birthday to Friedrich Engels, co-founder of scientific socialism and the international workers’ movement! Over 100 years of class struggle are built on Engels’ works and legacy.
Born into a bourgeois family, he committed class treason by working with his closest comrade, Karl Marx, to build the scientific foundation for a revolution that would put the workers at the top of the ruling order. Engels’ legacy is not only composed of his work at his desk but also of being a trained soldier who participated in numerous armed workers’ uprisings and survived several battles.
After the death of Marx in 1883, Engels completed the last two volumes of the flagship work “Das Kapital.” At the funeral, Engels said of Marx, “His name will live on through the centuries, and so will his work!” A few years after Engels’ death, his and Marx’s writings became the blueprint for the communist revolution in Russia that would change the world forever.

Georgian protesters were knocked to the ground by water canons after the ruling party announced they were suspending EU accession talks until 2028. Protesters used green lasers to try to blind police, who deployed both pepper spray and tear gas. 43 people were arrested.
More than 100 Georgian diplomats signed a letter saying the government’s decision was unconstitutional. Georgia’s Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, claimed that EU membership would hurt the country as it would require it to cancel visa-free agreements and trade deals with other countries, such as Russia. The European Parliament also announced sanctions on top party officials.
The Georgian Dream party was founded by former prime minister and billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili. Russia and Georgia haven’t had formal relations since the 2008 invasion by Russia, but the Georgian Dream is looking to have a limited rapprochement.

Читать полностью…On November 27, rebel factions launched a coordinated offensive on Syrian Army positions in Idlib, dubbed “Operation Aggression Deterrence.” Idlib has long been dominated by Islamist groups like Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), led by former Al-Qaeda operative Abu Mohammad al-Julani.
Türkiye has reportedly provided support to many of these factions, supplying resources and training. The rebel forces claim their objective is to combat the Hezbollah and Iranian presence in Syria, which they view as a major threat.
Within hours of the offensive, key positions, including the strategic “Base 46,” were overrun. The precision and speed of the attacks, along with the use of advanced weapons such as modern rifles, military-grade gear, and heavier weaponry like cruise missiles, suggest an increase in foreign logistical support.
