The ICC just issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant. Watch this ICC prosecutor exposing how US officials lectured him that the institution was “built for Africa and thugs like Putin” back in May 2024. Before, no US ally has ever been targeted by the ICC in its entire history.

Police brutalized two opposition political leaders, Savo Manojlović and Aleksandar Jovanović, at a protest in Belgrade, Serbia. People tried to peacefully break a police cordon to prevent the demolition of the Old Sava Bridge, an anti-fascist symbol. In 1944, the Partisans prevented the German occupation from demolishing the bridge and hampering the city’s recovery.

Today, the US Senate will vote on Bernie Sanders’ bill to block a $20 billion arms package to Israel. But a year ago, Sanders was staunchly against ending the suffering of the Palestinian people. The late Palestinian writer and poet Refaat Alareer warned of this 180-degree turn.
“What’s infuriating about Bernie Sanders’s position is that he has no political aspirations (he has nothing to lose), and he knows pretty well Israel is committed to genociding the Palestinian people. That means he has always been a racist, hateful, and anti-Palestinian bigot and duped everyone into thinking he is awesome and progressive. F*ck Bernie Sanders. When Israel kills 10k more, he will crawl out of his ancient Zionist a*sehole and call for a ceasefire,” wrote Refaat.
How many thousands of Palestinian men, women, and children had to be murdered in cold blood for so-called progressive Bernie Sanders to change his tune?

Students set ablaze government vehicles at Colombia’s Polytechnic in Medellín. After months of sporadic on-and-off protests, the situation is now taking a more and more violent turn.
Protests at universities across the country are escalating, with clandestine groups sprouting up to carry out militant actions.
The frustration over years of ignored demands for university reforms has reached a boiling point as Colombia’s left-wing government under Gustavo Petro struggles to deliver on its campaign promises.

Summary of the highlights of the latest speech by Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem:
🟡 “We have two options: either fight or surrender. We can’t surrender.”
🟡 “People say that we are paying a high price, but we must ask ourselves, why? Because we are facing an Israeli-American monster that commits daily massacres.”
🟡 “We are facing two battles. The first battle consists of supporting Gaza […] The second battle involves defending ourselves against Israeli aggression.”
🟡 “Over 100 deaths and 1,000 injured Israeli soldiers have been recorded since the start of the ground invasion.”
🟡 “The resistance is not an army […] It's not important to focus on how many villages have been invaded but on how many Israeli soldiers have been killed and wounded.”
🟡 “The Lebanese resistance can keep attacking Israel for a long time.”
🟡 “We negotiated with the US mediator and have decided not to discuss the details publicly […] Israel expects to obtain through negotiations what it cannot achieve on the ground.”
Greece is paralyzed by a militant general strike. Workers are refusing to work for low wages amid the sky-rocketing cost of living under the neoliberal Mitsotakis government.
Solidarity with Palestine is also present at the mobilization. Last month, Greek dockers refused to load ammunition shipments destined for Israel.

In a first, the Yemeni Armed Forces targeted a Turkish ship in the Red Sea. Today marks one year since the announcement of their naval blockade. The Turkish bulk carrier “ANADOLU S” came under fire from multiple ballistic and naval missiles. Bound for ports in Israeli-occupied Palestine, the ship’s mission directly contradicts recent claims by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan who vowed to sever all ties with Israel.

Tens of thousands have descended upon New Zealand’s capital, Wellington, gathering in front of parliament to protest the controversial Treaty Principles Bill. If passed into law, the bill would reinterpret the 1840 Treaty of Waitangi, which uplifts Indigenous peoples.
With up to 50,000 estimated participants, the national hīkoi (Māori protest march) is estimated to be one of the largest in New Zealand’s history.
Protesters confronted the right-wing Act Party leader David Seymour, architect of the bill. They drowned him out with chants of “kill the bill” as he was booed back inside parliament after making a brief appearance before the march.

Did you know that contrary to popular belief, the Nuremberg trials of the Nazis were a Soviet initiative, not a Western one? The sentencing of key Nazi criminals by Allied powers started today in 1945 in Nuremberg. USSR leader Joseph Stalin argued that a lack of investigation and accountability could lay the foundation for future dangerous historical revisionism. “Last-minute flights to Russia” – The taz, Germany’s “left-progressive” flagship paper, slapped this headline on its cover. Apparently, they get a chuckle at the thought of US escalation in the Ukraine-Russia war. The punchline? Western-supplied missiles can now strike 300 kilometers deep into Russian territory.
Putin didn’t laugh. Within hours, the Russian president signed a decree lowering the threshold for nuclear warfare. For months, Moscow warned that US, UK, or French missile strikes on Russian soil via Ukraine would be treated as NATO entering the battlefield.
The taz exposed the interests it serves by playing government PR spokesperson. The paper whitewashes the whole debacle as proof that “the US is doing everything to avoid a NATO-Russia war.”
This display of blood-thirst echoes the latest trends in Germany’s parliamentary “left.” From the Greens to their more centrist bedfellows, Berlin continues to bring peace to the world via endless weapons from Kyiv to Tel Aviv.

On this day in 2005, the Haditha massacre occurred in Iraq. Following a roadside bomb by the Iraqi resistance that killed a Marine, US forces slaughtered 24 innocent Iraqis in revenge, including children aged 1, 3, 5, 10, and 14, shot execution-style. Eyewitnesses recounted Marines forcing five men out of a car, executing them, and attacking homes with grenades and gunfire, killing 15.
Eman Waleed, a 9-year-old survivor, described witnessing her grandparents' execution. Despite calls for compensation, the families received only $38,000, with no thorough investigation conducted. Charges against all involved were dropped except for Frank Wuterich, who faced dereliction of duty but served no jail time. The Haditha massacre is just one of many atrocities during the US war on Iraq which killed over a million Iraqis.

Georgian police violently swept a protest encampment in downtown Tbilisi against the recent elections and the ruling Georgian Dream party. 16 people were detained, and several were injured. Protesters are demanding new parliamentary elections in light of accusations of fraud.
The opposition at the helm of the protests is staunchly pro-EU. Some have raised concerns that the movement is an attempt at a color revolution.
Georgia recently passed a law requiring NGOs receiving 20% of their funding from abroad to register as “advancing interests of a foreign power.” Protests against this law were organized by the US Embassy, but progressive students and youth also flooded the streets. They oppose what is seen as a crackdown on genuine criticism of the government that isn’t a psy-op by the US.
62 percent of Georgians say none of the political parties represent their interests.

Did you know that the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic was the first country in the world to allow abortion on demand? 104 years ago today the Commissioners of Justice and Public Health signed an edict legalizing abortion on medical and social grounds. The law was passed in an attempt to combat the growing number of illegal abortions which often led to women having complications and dying. At the time, 50 % of women who had illegal abortions were infected and 4% died.
However, the Bolshevik government did make it clear that it would like to eventually see abortion even performed legally disappear following the support it had introduced for working mothers that made it easier for them to balance child care and employment. They admitted however that due to the survival of some reactionary attitudes from the pre-revolutionary era and the difficult economic situation, it was necessary to legalize abortion to protect women's health. Read on.
